What a beauty! I’m not from that house, but it has conquered me. Oud gourmand? Appetizing, sexy, long-lasting, and with good projection. Oud with vanilla and honey, sweet but mature. Not very innovative but distinct, friendly, dense, and edible. Ufff, totally in love! ❤️
I’m keeping the sample. Spectacular dark and smoky vanilla, with much more than the 3 notes. Luckily, it doesn’t smell like oud; there might be a drop, but it’s undetectable. It starts strong and oriental, then turns into a dark, complex, sexy, and elegant vanilla. You can detect leather, cedar, pepper… It’s like a ball moving between Babylon, Babycat, and Vanhera, but smoothed and polished with the unique refinement of L’Artisan. What about the price? Too high. The only downside. Miao 😊
I’m still swatching the sample I ordered. It’s a spectacular dark and smoky vanilla that has much more than those three declared notes. Luckily, it doesn’t smell like oud; there might be a drop in the whole composition, but it’s undetectable. The first few seconds are strong, very oriental, but quickly it takes shape and becomes a dark, complex, sexy, and elegant vanilla. I can smell suede, cedar, and pepper… I’d describe it as a ball moving in a triangle where the corners are Babylon, Babycat, and Vanhera, but smoothed and polished with the unique refinement and class of L’Artisan. What about the price? Too high. The only downside. Miao😊
It’s an easy perfume to accept if you like vanillas that don’t slap you in the face and turn you upside down. It’s a discreet but perfectly perceptible vanilla. Don’t like oud? Calm down, it’s barely noticeable… it doesn’t take the spotlight or dominate the fragrance to become dark and suffocating. In some aspects, it reminds me of Babylon by Penhaligon’s. It’s good, but I recommend trying it before buying blind.
What a huge surprise! The notes give a lot of info and they don’t fail here. A knockout scent. It comes out with a huge saffron charge, one of the best I’ve tried. Normally I reject it because it stings, but here it’s so well blended that it feels refined and elegant. A round saffron. You can sense the oud and vanilla, the latter delicate, dark, and powdery. As it dries, the spice doesn’t dominate and leaves an ambered vanilla. A note I could have rejected but I love it. It doesn’t discover anything new, but it opens an unknown door in the oud-vanilla tandem. Delicate, elegant, formal, not projecting beast mode, just floating and lasting in the medium. Perfect for cold weather and elegant occasions. Very good aroma.
What a huge surprise. The notes promised some doubts, but here they don’t fit. A knockout scent with great depth. The saffron comes out with a brutal charge; it’s one of the best I’ve tried. Normally I reject it because it stings and overwhelms, but here it’s so well blended that it feels refined and elegant. A round saffron. You can already sense the vanilla and oud, and I understand both. The vanilla is undeniable: delicate, dark with a powdery touch. As it dries, the spicy part yields to leave an ambered vanilla. Another note I could have rejected, but it’s done so well that I love it. It doesn’t discover anything new, but it opens an unknown door in the oud-vanilla tandem. Delicate, elegant, formal, not projecting beast mode, just floating and lasting in medium longevity. Perfect for cold weather and elegant occasions. Very good aroma.
