Descripción
Un Air de Bretagne by L'Artisan Parfumeur is a woody aquatic fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglou. The top notes of bergamot and citrus provide a fresh first breath; the heart reveals the elegance of calone and neroli; while the base settles on a marine and woody foundation of sea algae, cypress, ambergris, and cedar.

A fairly marine, fresh, and sparkling aroma. I really liked its performance; it reminds me a lot of Bvlgari Aqva, that style. It has a slightly dark base that gives it more robustness. Longevity is about 7 hours.
I’m completely in love. It captures the fresh air of summer in a Mediterranean forest with cypresses, pines, and that marine salinity. The iodine note is brutal; it smells so real and natural. So refined, it transports you instantly. You can detect the citrus, perhaps from the cypress itself which has a hint of lemon. I’ve had three bottles and confirm that the fresher the batch, the better the performance. My December 2021 bottle outperforms the 2017-2018 ones. I always buy recent batches and it works better for me. It’s probably in my Top 3 of L’Artisan.
A very evocative and realistic perfume that recreates the brine of the North Sea—cold and damp, nothing like the dry Mediterranean. Spectacular; it seems like a blend of Bvlgari Aqva without so much algae and Hermès Eau des Merveilles Bleue without being quite so blue. The longevity and projection are short, as expected, but it might just be the most realistic and pleasant marine fragrance I’ve ever tried, a true delight.
Un Air de Bretagne: At first, I thought it smelled like generic hand soap and almost forgot about it, but at a concert near the coast, the magic happened. The opening is still salty, but after a few minutes, it transforms into something incredible. It’s not for summer daytime, but for nights by the Atlantic coast, with wind, gray skies, and humidity. Its drydown is amazing; it lasts for days on clothes with class. It was a total rediscovery, and I’ll be buying another bottle.
