  • I bought it two years ago for my brother’s wedding; it’s the strongest and most overwhelming perfume I’ve ever smelled. I wanted something intense that would last hours, and it delivered: over 30 hours with sillage included, almost gave me a headache. The patchouli and pepper are very strong, and the rose is noticeable too. I couldn’t wait for it to end, used it a few times, and ended up gifting it away; it’s the only one I don’t regret. I like the scent, but it totally suffocated me, even though the wedding was in November; if it had been in summer, I don’t know what the guests would have thought.

  • What a wonderful perfume! Absolutely incredible, it’s a definite yes for me: so current, sexy, and modern. I love the blend of roses with patchouli and that citrus-y yet sweet touch. It lasts forever and leaves a gorgeous trail. I’m so happy to have it; I love it.

Well, it smells like tangerine and in the background, sexy roses. I don’t think it’s more for daytime, those days when you don’t want sweet perfumes. I give it a 7.

  • Smells like metallic roses and is very strong. I admit it’s distinctive and different, but not suitable for blind buying: test it first. To me, it’s too intense and intrusive, although there are many fans. I insist: you have to try it. I was gifted it and use it occasionally, but I would never buy it.

  • I had high expectations for MA DAME DE JEAN PAUL GAULTIER EDP, that cult perfume that’s becoming harder to find. Heads up: it’s a difficult perfume. It surprised me and will continue to do so. The feeling is that it was created as a lab product, with an artificial presence sought after and enjoyed for that. It sought beauty through chemistry. It reminds me of JOOP! HOMME, pure plastic strawberry and cherry. MA DAME is something more, fortunately. I don’t know if I liked it or disliked it; it holds a Brechtian distance that, for me, visceral and passionate, is complicated. The opening is spicy rose with orange, with undeclared anise and licorice, LOLITA LEMPICKA style, accompanied by a synthetic musk that gives it a stellar and metamorphic halo, like science fiction. It’s a cold perfume, without emotion, shuffling formulas. The Le Male and Classique ads explode that technical and mechanical vein. It doesn’t resemble almost any other women’s perfume; that originality is a virtue. It’s not a fruity chypre and its classification as floral chypre is confusing; better described as aromatic musky floral. It’s quite floral, but the rose isn’t sweet or powdery; it’s calculating, cold, distant, and enigmatic. It could be called METROPOLIS, like the robot in Fritz Lang’s film: attractive but insensitive, beautiful but cold. The trail is acceptable and the longevity is considerable. The dry down is more pleasant because the rose starts to speak. She lit a cedar cigarette, sipped a glass of Marie Brizard, and her skin exhaled a mix of rose, wood, and anise. She relaxed and shared her secrets, revealing she has feelings inside that acrylic shell. From understanding, sometimes, love is born.

  • Someone from Argentina who doesn’t use it and wants to sell it… I can’t find it.

  • Incredible! I found it online because it’s no longer in physical stores. I sprayed it a couple of hours ago and the scent is developing. It’s roses, maybe synthetic, but they seem very sexy to me. I like it a lot and I think it will last hours. It reminds me of Eclat by Victorio & Lucchino, but much more intense. If you find it, I recommend buying it at a good price. Like other perfumes that are no longer sold, it seems incomprehensible.

  • Incredible! I found it online because it’s no longer available in physical stores. I sprayed it on a couple of hours ago and the scent keeps building. Roses, clearly; maybe it’s synthetic, but to me, it feels very sexy. I really like it and think it will last hours. It reminds me of Eclat by Victorio & Lucchino, though this one is much more intense. If you find it, I recommend it and it’s a great price. Like other perfumes that are no longer sold, it seems incomprehensible.

  • Madame by JPG is an ode to the woman with character, the one who wields power, but not for an aristocrat, rather for a night woman, the queen of burlesque. I imagine a lady in an elegant Belle Époque cabaret, with sequins, a feather boa, and a cigarette, made for the Parisian bohème, like Marguerite Gautier. It revolves around an opulent rose, patchouli, and musk. Honestly, I wouldn’t dare compare it to anything else; it’s unique and unparalleled. It’s a shame it’s discontinued, and I pessimistically foresee JPG creating something like this again.

Reminds me of Miss Dior Le Parfum and quite a bit of Roses Elixir by Montale. It’s a rose with patchouli that’s very cheerful and lively. The orange is very noticeable, adding freshness and sweetness. The musk, unlike Montale, stays in the background, which I appreciate. The longevity is very good and the trail is noticeable when you move. If you like rose and aren’t looking for sweet scents, go for it!

It reminds me a bit of Miss Dior Le Parfum and quite a bit of Roses Elixir by Montale. It’s a cheerful, lively rose with patchouli. The orange comes through a lot, adding freshness and a certain sweetness. The musk, unlike in Montale, stays in the background without hogging attention, which I appreciate. The longevity is very good, and the trail is especially noticeable when you move. If you like roses and prefer scents that aren’t overly sweet, I’d go for it in a heartbeat!

  • I was gifted a vial years ago and didn’t use it until New Year’s Eve, which smelled like burnt wood; I sprayed it and everyone loved it. I finished it drop by drop and promised myself I’d buy more, but I waited too long and it’s now discontinued. I remember a spectacular orange opening with pepper, a juicy rose heart that wasn’t cloying, and a musky, woody base. It’s fresh, earthy, very sexy, and full of personality. It lasted forever without becoming heavy, and the trail was great. A masterpiece, no wonder the perfumer is so talented. I don’t get why they discontinued it. Reissues of Ma Dame, please!

  • Just tried it and it’s like they swapped the star for Miss Dior Le Parfum: here, rose reigns supreme, whereas in MDLP it’s the orange, but the patchouli is identical. I feel they share the same DNA. So happy I caught it! 🌹🌿
