I’m not a huge oud fan; almost nothing with this wood had ever convinced me, but this one won me over instantly. It’s a fruity, sweet, fresh, and honeyed oud, yet not cloying; on the contrary, it feels very fresh. It opens with oud and a medley of sweet, ripe fruits over a base of patchouli and flowers. It immediately makes you feel cheerful and optimistic, perfect for any time of day or season. Average longevity is 7 hours with a light trail.

I bought this blind, expecting a fruity oud, but I was wrong and pleasantly surprised. It’s subtle and high quality. It opens with dark, earthy citrus from the patchouli, then discreet fruits, oud, and flowers come through. It’s distinct from everything else. If you know Bois de Oud by Perris Montecarlo, this is on the same line. Recommended for those over 30 for formal events. Scent 8/10, trail 8.5/10, longevity and projection 8/10.
This fragrance absorbs you, not the other way around, possessing a captivating depth. It opens with potent, sweet oud, juicy currants, and sweet fruits. At first, it’s disconcerting due to its strength, but then it settles perfectly. I can’t stand sweetness, but this is a different kind: soft, fruity, and woody, with a dark base that isn’t invasive. The oud is expertly crafted. It’s absolutely unisex, ideal for people with a strong yet kind personality. Longevity is brutal, over 12 hours, noticeable from half a meter away, and leaves a trail even after you’ve gone.

If Ramses the Giant had only followed his viziers, Luxur Oud would probably have shone at his parties. Its sweet acidity of red berries, intense rose, and cypriol moss (perhaps styrax) break the monotony of incense perfumes. It begins with an elegant fruity sweetness that later lets the patchouli, tonka bean, and oud breathe. Memo Paris calls it a fruity oasis, the marriage of wood and rose beneath the pharaoh. It’s usable and noble, nothing like Renier’s Cacique or Oud Assam; it touches Amouage. Ozymandias used to say, ‘I am King of Kings,’ a phrase Percy Bysshe Shelley ironically mocked in his sonnet on leaders and decay. Luxur Oud smells of grandeur and negligence: ‘Behold my works and despair!’
If Ramses II had only listened to his advisors, Luxur Oud would have shone at his banquets. It’s a classic incense with a twist: an elegant fruity sweetness that yields to patchouli, tonka bean, and mossy oud. It’s not a Cacique by Renier or Oud Assam; it recalls Amouage instead. This is the scent of a king who believes himself eternal, magnificent yet negligent: ‘Behold my works and despair.’
