Descripción

Nishane Favonius is a woody-chypre fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2021, the nose behind this composition is Julia Rodríguez Pastor. The top notes reveal lychee, incense, pink pepper, and bergamot; the heart unfolds with rose, chamomile, helichrysum, hyssop, and geranium; while the base notes anchor the structure with oud wood, incense, patchouli, cedar, and sandalwood.

  • Nothing ‘Favonius’, I mean, nothing ‘favorable’ 🤕. That description of the ‘fruitful wind’ is just a sales tactic. A total joke in my opinion. It’s a shame the perfumer didn’t put the same energy into creating something good. ‘Exclusives’ are often just an excuse to inflate prices and make money by selling false exclusivity. Favonius suffers from this. For $395, you get a perfume that opens with a very sweet, jam-like rose (it gets cloying), with a hint of red fruits and pepper. The sweetness fades a bit and becomes more wearable. Geranium accompanies the rose, while patchouli, cypriol, and oud sit in the background. The oud is detectable but harmless. It reminds me of something Montale would make: a sweet, synthetic, low-quality rose. If it had half the sweetness, I might use it, but it feels mediocre. It seems made without care and rushed. High projection, good longevity. Versatility is limited by how sweet and potent it is. Unisex with a feminine leaning. No thanks.

  • Another iteration of that overdone combo. I’m not asking them to reinvent the wheel, but this proposal feels irrelevant. It’s just oud, cypriol, rose, and softened with red fruits. That’s it. Sure, it has more going on, but even softened, it doesn’t feel right. Maybe they could have added a different twist or taken a risk, but no. It stayed exactly the same, to no one’s surprise. Good longevity and sillage… well, I’m tired of talking about this perfume. Haha. Moving on.

  • The notes caught my eye, but I was let down. The oud and cypriol are completely buried in the background, barely noticeable, and the incense is very weak. What I did like is that sweet red fruit part, like a jam, with a very subtle woody touch underneath. The scent is extremely soft; I expected something more impactful given the description.
