  I’ve never truly tried oud, so I only imagined it after smelling other perfumes with that note, unable to distinguish their origins. Anyway, this Majestic Aoud starts with an absolutely brutal manure scent, so strong it’s noticeable from meters away and lasts at least three hours, drowning out everything else and leaving the other notes absent. Then it fades a bit, but that animalistic undertone remains; it smells like urine, like a roadside bathroom, and the name sounds ironic to me. I guess the ingredients are top-notch for the price, which not many can afford, and its longevity is beastly: over 12 hours on skin with intense projection at first. From my perspective, it’s an unnecessary luxury for anyone who isn’t an oud fanatic, very similar to Rania J.’s Oud Assam. EDIT (3-5-24): After years of testing and training my sense of smell, I now love it. The cypriol softens the oud and makes it complex, blending flowers in the heart. Every time I wear it, it’s different: sometimes more oud, other times more cypriol, other times in perfect harmony or more floral; it’s a mystery on the skin and a chameleon perfume, even if the name still sounds a bit pretentious.
