After Lancôme’s Lavandes Trianon and that well-worked lavender, that non-gourmand fine vanilla, this could be a lost odyssey of lavender’s entry into modern perfumes… lavender is in fashion. It keeps very well and portrays the roughness and rusticity of lavender in all its splendor, being youthful and dense. Excellent projection.
The truth is, it’s not for everyone; at first, I feel an intense scent like woodiness, then it fades and I feel the vanilla. I like it a lot for cold weather.
I love it, it’s elegant and long-lasting; you get noticed when you wear it. It has exquisite vanilla despite not being a fan; with the lavender mix, it feels fresher and more elegant. It lasts on me ALL DAY; it’s one of my favorite perfumes.
FOR ME IT’S A RATHER UNISEX FRAGRANCE, I DON’T FEEL IT 100% FEMININE, AND I LOVE IT. A FINE LAVENDER, WITH A BACKGROUND OF VANILLA AND TONKA BEAN IS A PERFECT COMBINATION.
This perfume blew my mind. All my life I said I didn’t like vanilla and nothing intrigued me where it was the protagonist. I only tried it because of the reviews… I have no regrets. Just be aware that testing it on paper at the perfumery won’t convince you immediately, as the top notes are very strong and you won’t know which one you’re smelling. But the magic starts when you keep a sample on paper, a coat, or skin. It’s so strong and cozy at the same time; it makes you feel unique and loved. It’s passionate; you feel like having good moments with it on. It’s INTIMATE. Not for everyday use because it’s special; it’s FALL made into perfume. A traveler, warm, enveloping, cozy. A sultaness in a desert, a sunset, or a night under the stars… for personal enjoyment and for those who have the privilege to smell it, a blazing naturalness that invites. Let it soak into your essence. Now I understand why it’s called Libre: simplicity and depth at the same time. A balance for both genders, with predominance in feminine energy. One of the best I’ve tried, if not the only modern one that took my imagination off the ground. You notice the difference when a note is well-worked and in harmony. I adore it. Scent 9.5/10. Well done.
I bought it because my EDP ran out, an incredibly rich perfume. I opted for the Intense because they said it was more beastly. I love it, I adore it, but I can’t find big differences. In Argentina, they come out VERY expensive, any of the line (and basically any import). While I loved both this Intense and the EDP, I think if you have to choose one, there isn’t much difference… so I tell you: Argentina fan of Libre… you don’t need to spend on the EDP if you have the Intense and vice versa. As long as you can buy one, that’s enough.
I have mixed feelings. I had high expectations, and now it sells a lot in Argentina as winter approaches; it’s exclusive for cold days. The first time, it smelled like cheap soap and I was disappointed. I gave it another chance: on my skin, it’s pure lavender, with nothing else coming through. Maybe that lavender gives that clean, powdery scent I felt, or maybe I’m wrong—I’m not an expert. For some reason, even though I’m not a lavender lover, it became attractive to me gradually. I think I’m drawn to the elegance it carries; it’s not the typical cloying sweet gourmand I usually enjoy. That’s probably why I had mixed feelings, but now I don’t dislike it. It’s very elegant and clean. If it helps, Zara’s Golden Decade is a good dupe; I tried both and they’re similar. Edit: Since it’s amber-based, it reminds me conceptually of Mugler’s Alien.
Let’s see… how would I define it: it’s attractive, intense (without being invasive), with excellent fixation and longevity, approx. 10 hours (not usual). Lavanda stands out always, though I like it, I’m not sure how much. It’s a perfume with a lot of personality, somewhat linear; its trail at personal distance is perfect and not invasive; the bottle is a design jewel. In summer, it’s strong, but it depends on personality and tastes. I received compliments from women, but it doesn’t seem very attractive to men like PURE XS or DIOR ADDICT. Update: September 2024, I bought it again, confirming: it doesn’t result in being sensual for men; longevity and projection dropped noticeably (I always buy at specialized perfumeries like Rouge or Juleriaque). In my case, money thrown away, and quite a bit of money for Argentina.
I expected more. It doesn’t smell like a fine fragrance; it feels heavy. I put it on my arm and it irritated me… it’s not noticeable on others, but to me, it smells like honey…
Libre Intense is an empowering fragrance, enveloping you in a cloud of sophistication and character. It smells like limitless luxury—neither sober nor restrained, pure power. In my opinion, lavender, vanilla, and amber are the stars, skirting masculinity while maintaining a decisive, feline femininity. It elevates attractiveness and screams confidence; it’s a total experience. The bottle is luxurious and aesthetic, with beastly performance lasting 10 to 12 hours, projecting strongly without fading, even on clothes for days. It’s an imposing beast with ultra-sophisticated vanilla. Ideal for old money style lovers.
In my opinion, the original surpasses it, but I admit I prefer Zara’s Golden Decide, and the value is much better there. Don’t buy it blindly if you have that more pleasant clone. On my skin, it has a hint of ammonia that I don’t like in the opening. The first dry down is the best part, but it’s very linear. I thought it was the big difference compared to Zara, but it’s not.
I love it; it’s intense but youthful. You can smell the citrus and vanilla. It has good fixation and longevity, and over time, it leaves a sweetness that doesn’t bother. Ideal for those who aren’t scared of intensity; my skin is complicated, and this stayed true to its notes. It doesn’t smell like an old lady; perfect for over 30s.
Very similar to Lattafa’s Tharwah Gold.
Versatile, it has all the facets: starts fresh and clean, ends sweet and deep. It lasts on my skin for hours, is very long-lasting, and has good sillage.
I tried it in-store looking for vanilla and was disappointed. It lasts a long time and has good sillage, but the initial scent is awful and later smells old. It reminds me of Euphoria and Tresor, with that same heaviness that gives me a headache.
Well-made, with a perfect balance between elegant and not cloying. Although I hate lavender on my skin (like in Mon Guerlain, which gives me a headache), here it doesn’t stand out much because the base isn’t gourmand. I’ll enjoy the bottle, even if I’m not crazy about repurchasing it.
Definitely my favorite. It has that syrupy or honey-like texture where you float in a cloud. It’s an adult vanilla with lavender and florals; nothing stands out too much. It’s a sexy yet discreet woman in a sweater. Perfect for dinners or dates; just be careful in the office so you don’t overwhelm the person next to you. Not for kids or the elderly; best for ages 25 to 45.
For Argentinians, this smells like Tío Nacho shampoo on an old lady. I only tested it on blotter paper.
Exquisite, until it reminds me a bit of JPG’s Classique Essence.
My girlfriend gifted me her signature scent. At first, it smells like lavender and bergamot—super fresh—but then it turns sweet with vanilla and white flowers without being cloying. It’s a perfect balance: not a classic fougère, but more of a safe, universally appealing option, though the note quality is top-notch. Lasts about 8 hours and smells great everywhere. It reminds me of my girlfriend: mature, cultured, and elegant. Projection: 8/10, Dry Down: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 9/10, Versatility: 10/10, Bottle: 6/10, Value: 8/10.
They let me try it on a blotter at a perfume shop, and I’m not lying—it lasted on that paper for MONTHS! That’s why I decided to buy it. The intense opening, then once it dries, you get the lavender. Everyone has complimented it so much! It was my first imported perfume and holds a special place in my heart.
I absolutely love this perfume!!! It’s gorgeous!! I love Libre, but this Intense and EDT versions are my favorites. It’s an elegant, sexy, luxurious, winter, and evening scent. The quality is excellent, it lasts for hours, and leaves a strong trail. It’s perfect for special occasions or date nights. For now, it’s on my wish list; I’ll buy it someday.
You can smell it at the bar, and you’ll kill it with this, even though it’s not my go-to for dancing. It’s better for drinks or romantic dinners. Clearly unisex, I feel it would look amazing with a tailored suit.
Velvet lavender. For a long time, I made the mistake of judging a fragrance by its top notes… and even worse, on a dry-down. I learned that this first impact is just a doorway: what comes after is what truly matters. With Libre Intense, I decided to wait. I didn’t rush. It was during the dry-down that the magic happened: the lavender stops feeling so herbal and starts to feel creamy, enveloping, sophisticated. Everything around it—the jasmine, the vanilla, the soft spices—doesn’t compete but accompanies it with elegance. This perfume made me understand lavender in a new way: not as a fresh barbershop note, but as a warm, elegant heart. The jasmine, usually associated with femininity, is presented here balanced and unlabelled. It doesn’t shout, doesn’t bloom excessively. Here, it’s part of a blend that feels perfectly unisex, elegant, and characterful. I can’t say it’s the same as the original Libre. It feels deeper, more serious, more intimate, but without losing that DNA. They are sisters, for sure, but this one has a more sensual and less explosive vibe. My recommendation: don’t judge it in the first minute. Give it its space, its time, and you’ll see what it hides. My rating: 9/10
What a great perfume!! It’s sweet, intense, elegant, sexy… Everything I love in a fragrance, I find exquisite, and it lasts forever. I love it and would buy it for life.
I did a two-spray test on my neck and that was enough, just to clarify I’m not usually into this type of perfume but I wanted to try it. It starts with lavender, then tangerine, and settles into vanilla, which lasts until the next day. As mentioned in the cons, some people get headaches, I got one at the half-hour mark. The next day it was still lingering and it even gave me nausea, but as I said, I don’t tolerate vanilla perfumes. Personally, I don’t like it, it feels very intoxicating to me; I stick with citrus, aldehydes, and musks, but for someone who loves vanilla and lavender together, I think they would adore it.
Definitely the best-smelling flanker. It’s sweet, elegant, and addictive. A blend of lavender and citrus with white flowers, wrapped in a spicy and sophisticated vanilla that changes the perfume and gives it its own personality. A 10/10!
It opens citrusy but not like the Libre EDP. This one is definitely more nocturnal and intense. I like it, it feels unique, less citrusy and slightly sweeter. Obviously they share lavender and bitter orange, they are similar perfumes, but the Libre EDP is much fresher and cleaner while this one has more body and overpowers it if you wear them together. It’s intense but not cloying, no note is overwhelming. It’s balanced between acidity, sweetness, and florals. It’s excellent, I agree the chords are the same as the Libre EDP but it’s not the same perfume. I really like it, I feel it’s flirty, elegant, and a bit animalic.
I tried both the Intense and the regular version, and the Intense blows it away. It smells rich, clean, and has an elegant sweet touch. It’s already on my wish list. It lasts forever; the little paper they gave me soaked the whole room. The regular one smelled strong and ‘clean’ but nothing else, whereas this one with its sweet touch is amazing!
What an incredible perfume, I sold it and now I miss it lol, but I hate that orange note; the tangerine was suffocating me as it dried, it even made my neck itch or I imagined it. If they did the same thing but with another fruit, like strawberry… who knows, that’s my dream. It’s something precious, high quality, like the ones they don’t make anymore. I’m sitting here waiting for them to invent the Libre Intense Cherry or whatever lol, lots of love!
#Niche-soul perfumes: YSL Libre Intense. #Libre Intense is a deep and bold reinterpretation of the iconic Libre. The opening bursts with lavender and mandarin, fresh and elegant, though at first it might remind you of women’s perfumes from the mid-2000s, even challenging if not worn correctly. In its evolution, it reveals its true character: a heart of orange blossom, jasmine, and orchid that brings sophistication, refinement, and an almost private air, as if it were from an exclusive collection. Gradually, it reveals itself as sweet, modern, and surprisingly unisex. The base, dominated by vanilla and tonka bean, adds warmth, sensuality, and impeccable longevity (10+ hours). It’s not meant to go unnoticed: it has presence and body, but with balance, without falling into heaviness or crudeness. Libre Intense is ideal for those seeking an aroma with personality, a sillage that commands respect, and elegance. Perfect for special nights, events, or for feeling secure and powerful. The bottle, with its golden lines and YSL logo contrast, reflects that tension between the classic and the contemporary. In short, a hidden gem in the mainstream, designed for bold spirits without gender complexes or fragility. It empowers women and men and confirms that YSL continues to honor its legacy. Thanks to #Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm for this work: when two masters of #perfumery meet, the result can only be memorable.
Oh, perfume of queens and moonlit nights, your citrus breath awakens the senses, the lavender stands solemn, the vanilla burns like a secret lover, and the woods seal your fate. You are a spell for cool climates, a treasure worthy of gods, and although the time in my bottle gives more voice to the lavender (which I don’t love), you remain the charm that dresses a ‘sexy boss’ vibe on whoever wears you.
It was a blind buy and love at first sniff (I tested it in Liverpool, but I think it was another flanker), but I absolutely LOVE this one. This gem smells like luxury: it opens with top notes of citrus and heavy lavender, then settles with the sweetness of jasmine and the cleanliness of orange blossom. I don’t detect the orchid. The dry down is divine, with that delicious vanilla, the body of tonka bean giving it depth, and ambergris to seal it off perfectly. It’s sweet, dominating, and sensual, with a longevity on me of 10-12 hours and an intense sillage. I’d buy it 1,000 times over.
It’s clearly a floral perfume that maintains the DNA of the original Libre, but with a marked twist thanks to the orange blossom, which adds a fresh, clean citrus touch. You can also detect jasmine, which reinforces that white flower character. The combination feels feminine, creamy, and enveloping. It’s a distinctive, present, and slightly sexy aroma without becoming heavy. It works especially well in autumn and winter because it’s one of those perfumes that ‘hug’: sweet, floral, and creamy, with the citrus brightness of the orange blossom keeping it balanced. If you like the original Libre but want a version that’s more floral, warmer, and with a clear spotlight on white flowers (jasmine and orange blossom), you’ll probably love this. Lasts around 10 hours on clothes without any issues.
I like the opening, but the vanilla-dried-down isn’t my style.
It’s pure floral, faithful to the Libre DNA but with a strong twist from the orange blossom that gives it a fresh citrus vibe. You can tell the jasmine is there, reinforcing that white flower feel. It ends up feminine, creamy, and enveloping. It’s a distinctive, present, and a bit sexy scent without being heavy. Ideal for autumn and winter because it ‘hugs’: sweet, floral, and creamy, with that citrus brightness balancing it out. If you like the original Libre but are looking for something more floral, warmer, and packed with white flowers, you’ll absolutely love this. Lasts more than 10 hours on clothes without problems.
It happens to me just like with Burberry Goddess… on my skin, the lavender stands out a lot, a smell I don’t like; it reminds me of a closed car. On the test strip, it seemed spectacular, but on me… it leaves much to be desired. One thing is certain: it’s a perfume that women have complimented me on. It smells like lavender, citrus, warm, even slightly spicy.
I can imagine a lawyer running through courtrooms in this perfume, the ultimate business woman style. Unfortunately for me, it’s a no. The opening captivates me; it smells very vanilla with a spicy touch, but then it drops into too much lavender. Once it dries down, it becomes powdery and honeyed on my skin, like honey with dust.
Although YSL’s Libre Intense aims to be a bold and sophisticated floral-amber fragrance, the execution is disappointing. In theory, lavender and vanilla promised a balance between delicacy and sensuality; in practice, it’s monotonous and predictable. From the first spray, the opening is disproportionately sweet, bordering on cloying, lacking the freshness found in other high-end scents. The lavender loses its definition and gets overshadowed by gourmand notes that, instead of adding complexity, create a flat sensation. The evolution offers no surprises: rather than developing, it stalls in a generic blend that smells more like commercial products than something refined. The projection, which should be intense, is inconsistent and sometimes fades quickly in enclosed spaces. The sillage fails to provide presence without being intrusive. Anyone looking for something distinctive and elegant will feel this is an uninspired interpretation of saturated trends. In short, while YSL’s prestige is attractive, Libre Intense doesn’t deliver the sophistication and balance expected. Its excessive sweetness and homogeneous character make it less memorable than other options.
It has a strong presence without being overwhelming. It’s rich, though if you have a sensitive nose, you might want to avoid it. It lasts forever on skin and clothes; I don’t have to reapply all day. I feel confident wearing it—perfect for going out at night or attending something elegant and important. It conveys elegance, strength, and power. That’s exactly how I feel when I wear it. I tried several Libre scents when buying this one, but none compared to it. As the name suggests, it’s only for those who truly want to stick to their ideals, avoiding the conventional with a unique spirit.
