Very similar to Lorenzo Villoresi’s ‘Teint de Neige’; I’ve tried both and I’m sticking with L’Erbolario’s ‘Iris’ because it lasts longer and I love that pipe tobacco scent. Quality and price: no doubt, ‘Iris’ wins. Some find it sweeter, but I don’t pick up on that.

Reminds me a lot of Lorenzo Villoresi’s Teint de Neige, but with a twist: as it dries down, the iris loses that gourmand touch and becomes a bit more green. While the original closes sweet, this leaves a different trail. At first, the iris shines brighter here and the comparison is barely noticeable, but after a few minutes, they’re like twin sisters! I love the quality, the trail is potent, lasts hours on the skin, and the price is a steal.
To me, it smells excessively like talc, like a brand-new doll when you first open the box. However, a friend says it’s the perfume that suits her personality best. As with everything, it comes down to taste, but to me, it feels like a 19th-century scent. That doesn’t make it bad, just that it has a very specific target audience.

Iris is way cheaper. While they share a powdery dry-down, Teint de Neige has a much subtler iris. Iris L’Erbolario is like a slap of violet that smells like air freshener or a medieval market. If you love the pure scent of violet, this is for you: incredible projection and longevity. If you’re looking for something closer to Teint de Neige, try Junoon by Al Haramain or Soavissima by Profumum Roma—they are more refined, less violet, and have a soapy note truer to the original.

To be sure, I tested it with several friends and they all agreed they preferred Teint de Neige, noting a clear difference. Of course, the price is also astronomical, with Iris being much more affordable. Although when it dries down they share powdery notes, Teint de Neige has a much more subtle and delicate iris. On the contrary, L’Erbolario’s Iris is like a slap of violet that evokes air fresheners, apothecary perfumes, or medieval market scents. That said, if you love the pure smell of violet, this could be for you, as it has very high projection and notable longevity on skin and clothes. But if you’re looking for something closer to the original, I recommend trying Al Haramain’s Junoon or Profumum Roma’s Soavissima, which offer finer scents, less violet, and a soapy touch that recalls the original’s style.
In my opinion, it’s a strictly feminine perfume. At first, it almost overwhelms you, but if you let the notes flow, it wraps you in a cloud, giving you security like being in a padded cocoon. Citrus and spicy bergamot top notes with sweet flowers like ylang-ylang. Yes, it smells like strong powdery iris, which intensifies with the musk and vanilla. After a few hours, it turns into a talisman against insomnia, like that cat sleeping at the foot of the bed, ensuring good nights. It’s cathartic and protective, evoking childhood with baby powder after a shower. At a certain point, it smells like luxurious body powder. L’Erbolario didn’t make a refined perfume, but one that evokes peace and well-being, even if it might seem strong or annoying at first. Over time, it embraces you and creates a charming atmosphere if you like powdery scents.
It’s a nightmare, overwhelming. It’s the ‘Los Cost’ version of Teint de Neige by Lorenzo Villoresi.
Best-in-class performance, pure violet and iris. I don’t love it, but I don’t want to get rid of it (yet). Use with caution. It seemed particularly relaxing for sleep, just one spray is enough. Edit: Summer 2024, I gifted it to my mother-in-law who appreciates it since I never use it. Good taste and arrivederci.
Beast mode activated. To me, it smells like pure violets and iris. I don’t love it, but I’m not throwing in the towel (yet). Use it sparingly. It’s been great for sleeping, just one spray does the trick. Summer 2024 edition: I gifted it to my mother-in-law because she enjoys it and I never use it myself. Good taste and arrivederci.
I bought this blind because I’m a talcum fan. At first, I was scared off by the sweetness with violets and iris, but then it softens and lets that vintage talcum shine through. It doesn’t leave a strong trail after an hour. If you love powdery fragrances, give it a try 😉
Hello to the freshly unboxed doll, but without that strawberry touch. They say it’s the same as Teint de Neige, but to me, it smells way more like pure talcum powder than that one—the exact moment you open the package. It lasts well and is worth it, though I don’t think it’s for very young girls.
