  The world of perfumery keeps surprising me, thanks to a sample of Jerry Drake from an Italian house I’d only heard of before. L’Erbolario Assenzio is relaxing, with a fresh opening and green notes reminiscent of lavender and artemisia. At first, it smells like a gentle, medicinal apothecary, as if made by crushing plants and simmering them in an old bronze pot. Very natural and balanced. Although it seems unisex at first, patchouli, woods, and a musky tone emerge later, making it clearly masculine. It recalls classic seventies musks like Coty or Jovan Musk, but with that powdery, silky touch that this brand does so well. It has good sillage and lasts a long time; with an unbeatable price, Assenzio is a must-try for anyone looking for something delicate, fresh, elegant, and long-lasting.
