Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
Total disappointment: it smells like Most Wanted Parfum but watered down, a very soft and very seen-before scent, honestly. It also has a hint of Myself by YSL. Anyway, it’s the same thing but softer, and it barely has any smell.
The brand makes a point of advertising that they tried 2,800 formulas before arriving at this one. And I ask myself… Is all that work really necessary to launch something so ordinary? The bottle is one of the most basic I’ve ever seen. You can’t see Armani’s quality anywhere. The scent is the same sweet one you always find in Scandal, Invictus Victory, and even Ralph’s Club New York Parfum. That said, I do find a much stronger citrus note in the opening, and the performance was beastly on my skin. My girlfriend loved it, and she said she’d like me to buy it… and that makes sense. If you’ve never smelled another vanilla perfume with an amber base among the many options out there, you’ll think this is great. I don’t think it’s a bad fragrance, but I really dislike Armani’s strategy of sending this perfume to all the reviewers, who are forced to say only good things about it for fear of losing future collaborations with the brand. It’s embarrassing to see that none of them has a negative opinion of the product. At the end of the day, no one is able to say the obvious: it’s not bad, but it’s the same old thing.
Tried it the other day and honestly it seemed like another mainstream perfume with a sweet, elegant little scent in the style of Le Male Elixir (they don’t smell alike), but with fairly unimpressive performance. It’s a release that doesn’t appeal to me at all; I expected quite a bit more since it’s a new line within Armani.
For those who say it’s similar to Liquid Brun: at the opening it isn’t similar at all. But later, in the drydown (since the perfume’s trajectory changes a lot), you can smell from afar that creamy, slightly floral vanilla.
It opens with a fresh, citrusy top note. On the drydown, you get a creamy vanilla and the leather far in the background. It’s like they were going for a flanker between SWY and Acqua di Giò. Something fresh and sweet at the same time. It’s not a fragrance that tries to challenge or break the market with something innovative; it’s aimed at mass appeal. Anyway, I really liked it. I see it as great for all occasions, except extreme heat.
Too similar to Invictus Victory Elixir (and plenty of others like it). It’s a good fragrance, but I expected a lot more after all the hype on social media.
A release that hasn’t reached Chile yet, but I got to try it at L’Oréal’s offices. Nutmeg and lavender really stand out at the opening; it feels spicy and aromatic. After a few seconds, it gets taken over by a resinous, woody vanilla, similar to what you can find in Invictus Elixir (2026). That’s accompanied by a very masculine leather note, which surprised me with how good it feels during the middle phase of the fragrance. In the drydown, it’s all about that resinous, woody vanilla. I don’t feel it brings anything innovative to the market (I didn’t have high expectations either), but it’s a good fragrance if you’re looking for something that appeals to the opposite sex for a date or a night out. Longevity on my skin was about 6 hours, at least.
PLEASE, PLEASE… let the kids and people without knowledge of perfumery not burn all the fragrances they release for Armani.
I’ve had this gem since this summer, and every time I wear it I love it more. It opens with a dense, spicy kick thanks to nutmeg and cinnamon, but quickly gives way to a resinous heart where benzoin and labdanum rule with authority. What I like most is the drydown: a creamy, dark blend of vanilla and amber that feels extremely luxurious. It’s not a modern, sweet clubbing scent; it has a mature, sophisticated, almost mystical character. If you like deep fragrances that recall warm resins but with a sweet, cozy touch, this is a ten out of ten.
