Heat by Beyoncé

Very vintage, but the excess amber makes it heavy and, worst of all, it sticks to clothes and smells boring.

It just didn’t work for me 😔, it smells too retro.

It’s rich, soft, and cheerful, with an elegant and sweet touch that I love. Although it doesn’t last as long and doesn’t go crazy on me as I expected, it’s simply delicious and everyone notices when I wear it. Maybe it’s simple, but it’s worth trying; it’s perfect for daytime.

How strange that this perfume looks so bad! On Fragrantica in English they praise it a lot 😯. My mom gave it to me when I was 13; to her it smelled like ‘lady,’ but watch out, it wasn’t an insult, just that it was the type of aroma older women prefer. The funny thing is that me, being a girl, I finished the 100ml bottle in two months 😂. To her it smelled very ladylike and to me I loved it, I took it out of the closet daily. I thought it was super sensual and great for summer afternoons, warm and sweet. It has nothing to do with Rihanna’s Rebel (which smells stronger) or Katy Perry’s Killer Queen (where patchouli dominates). Anyway, I’m doubting whether to buy it. Here I find it ridiculously cheap, less than a VS… I don’t know what I prefer: having cheap and varied perfumes or fewer but of better quality?

I used it years ago and always thought about buying it again, but I ended up choosing new scents. I don’t get why people hate it… it smells sweet, feminine, a bit intoxicating, and very sensual. I got more compliments from men than from women. I loved wearing it in spring and summer for parties, with great sillage and longevity without being cloying. The bottle is comfortable and the price is laughably low. I’d definitely buy it again; what gave us pleasure can be repeated.

An enigmatic and dark perfume, ideal for cold climates or for evening wear. When I apply it, I can’t distinguish the notes, unlike with other perfumes. On my skin, it smells sweet with floral touches, highlighting the amber and tonka bean; I feel sexy and mysterious. Although the sillage and longevity aren’t the best, it lasts 4 to 5 hours on skin and projects for about 2.

I bought it without testing, and when I finally tried it, I decided to use it as a room freshener instead of a perfume. It felt endless on my skin.

Smells nice, like a sweet, powdery pear, but with something weird. I wouldn’t recommend it; it feels very ‘granny’.

I’m really sorry, but on my skin it smells masculine. In the end, the wood and musk take over. It overwhelms me and feels very heavy.

It’s rich, fruity, and sweet for hot days, but it has a problem: IT DOESN’T LAST AT ALL. What a pity; you have to reapply it two or three times a day. I don’t know how it is for others, but this one just won’t hold up.

To me, Heat is a tantrum: it leaves me with furious, choleric vibes, like one of the seven deadly sins, then abruptly cuts off and leaves everything confused. It tries too hard for what it achieves; it’s an undefined, incomprehensible scent (and I don’t think there’s much to understand). I detect intense peach and well-placed musk, but everything else gives the impression of being synthetic or low quality. It’s not that it smells bad—nobody will say ‘Ugh, you smell bad’—but it’s low quality compared to products of equal or lower price (and like its color, the scent is loud and intense, as if shouting: ‘Smell me!’). I think it was a rushed attempt to achieve commercial success in perfumery for Beyoncé, especially with other stars like Britney, Celine, and Paris earning millions; unlike them, Beyoncé is lacking in quality and commitment here. It seems the perfumers had good ideas, but by mixing them, they created an aromatic ‘Frankenstein’. The sillage could be flattering, but it drops so abruptly that it’s like a model tripping mid-runway. Conclusion: if you want to wear something by Beyoncé, go with Heat Rush, which is quite superior to the original.

The quality doesn’t justify the price; it feels cheap and mediocre.

Although many say it smells simple and cheap, I always find the special thing in each one and in this it’s the scent of something hot and very sexy; it’s great that people ask you what you smell like, especially when you’re wearing it.

Honestly, it smells synthetic and could scare off sensitive noses… although it’s pleasant, it doesn’t smell like air freshener or floor cleaner, but the word ‘cheap’ came to mind (first time, by the way). At first, it smells of acidic fruits (let’s say peach) with sweet, warm caramel (you can feel the ‘heat’ here), full magnolia, and a super synthetic orchid touch. Then comes strong synthetic musk and something like whisked egg white with sugar when it dries (let’s say macaron notes?). Finally, something ‘woody’ and ‘vanillic’ (tonka bean) with synthetic amber, but covered up by those top notes and the musk that stand out. I agree with others: it can go from heavy to extremely heavy depending on who wears it. On my part (I like intense scents), I tolerate it, but if I can avoid it, I prefer not to use it. However, my skin carries it well, and after 20 minutes, it smells quite good haha. In conclusion: ‘neither here nor there’, average, cloying… very cheap… but okay! Whoever wants to draw attention with something sweet but undefined (noses that don’t analyze much will just perceive something sweet, striking, and okay), it could work. I clarify that it’s not unpleasant, nor does it diminish Beyoncé’s effort; I’ve smelled designer perfumes that last less and smell equally or more synthetic. I think it’s better for daytime, in cool or cold climates; in heat, it could be excessively ‘heat’ 😀 … although its potency and sillage drop significantly after an hour and a half. Jeri1510 says she uses it in summer… it could be… for my taste, it’s better for night or the beach (with salty water and coconut, it works better) or outdoors; in fact, the first thing I thought when I tried it was ‘beach perfume’… but that’s in my case, where I perfume myself ON the beach. I think what Wilmito said is possible; it smells good on his uncle… because when it dries, it smells like a pleasant and sexy perfume FOR MEN!; yes, siii, men can wear it without worry 🙂
