Descripción
Fancy by Jessica Simpson is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2008, this composition was created by perfumer Alexis Dadier. The top notes unfold with honeysuckle, pear, and red berries; the heart reveals a harmony of caramel, almond, gardenia, and jasmine; while the base notes close the structure with vanilla, amber, and sandalwood.

Does anyone know when this fragrance was reformulated? Because it smells totally different from the one I had years ago.
I don’t like it, it smells like an old lady, it’s strong and heavy, not very sweet but cloying. That said, it lasts quite a while, which is a pity.
I bought it blind and I loved it. It’s perfect for everyday wear. It’s one of the perfumes for which I’ve received the most compliments.
For caramel lovers, it’s not an original or unique scent, but it’s a sensual vanilla caramel dulce de leche suitable for any age. It has excellent longevity, good sillage, and is not annoying at all. If you like smelling like dessert, this is for you.
I had no expectations when ordering it, but to my nose, it’s very similar to Mon Guerlain from 2017 when first sprayed. I have the 2021 batch and it comes out fresh for the first 10 minutes, then the almonds and caramel wrap around that initial freshness. Not at all matronly, I never imagined it would be so delicious.
I ordered it because of the positive reviews, wanted to try it since they say it’s similar to Viva La Juicy Gold and I really like that one, so I bought it. I have to say it exceeded my expectations: it’s sweet, almond-y, and also reminds me of Ariana Grande’s Ari, but this one is richer, longer-lasting, and more refined. A 10. Definitely, excellent value for money.
Ladies, buy it, you won’t regret it. It smells very pleasant, sweet from the caramel, but it doesn’t smell like a girl’s perfume; I can’t imagine a little girl wearing this. It’s a pleasant sweetness you want to keep smelling and enjoying as the hours pass.
Finally got mine! I bought it blind based on reviews and I have to say, at first it disappointed me a bit; it seemed very acidic, whereas I imagined something sweet and cloying like the descriptions. But the sweetness comes through in the dry-down and it’s not cloying, it’s a rich caramel with vanilla, then you notice a very nice powdery scent. I liked it a lot, even though it doesn’t smell exactly like others describe, so it’s always better to try for yourself. Well, $20 isn’t something I can complain about.
Finally got to try it and I loved it! It’s gorgeous, no brainer, you’ll definitely like it. To me, it smells exactly like Ariana Grande’s Ari; if you spray both, you won’t be able to tell the difference. The only difference is that Fancy lasts longer, while Ari evolves quickly and leaves a trail of candies. Definitely, Fancy is better, it’s beautiful, and my favorite of the moment.
It smells like those yellow butter candies mixed with white flowers and vanilla, just like my essence. It’s a precious and very elegant fragrance that lasts about 6 hours on my skin.
It lasts forever, has a good price, it’s one of those with the three B’s. On my skin, it smells a bit citrusy, maybe from the pear, but the gourmand side is stronger and that’s why I love it.
The best celebrity female perfume. Delicious caramel with vanilla, very powdery, not overwhelming but definitely gourmand. Trail and projection are moderate but good. It was a blind buy because many girls recommended it in groups; it’s divine and the bottle is very pretty.
I don’t find it very youthful; it’s cloying and strong at first, but it’s a sweetness that later becomes more pleasant.
Just another perfume. A definite NO!! ❌❌❌
A simple vanilla, excessively linear, and doesn’t last more than two hours on the skin. In my country (🇦🇷) it’s expensive and hard to find. I don’t think it’s worth it; better to test before spending the money.
Lots of delicate gourmand vanilla, not that cheap bakery scent. Barely bright from the fruits at the start (seconds, nothing acidic, always sweet). On my skin, it smells like sweat after a while as it evolves (very rare, happened with O’Boticario’s Egeo Vanilla Vibe, must be my pH), then it fades and leaves a pastel vanilla with a touch of white flowers; you have to hunt it down. What a pity about the short duration and weak trail. In short, linear: vanilla with toffee caramel, not cloying, tolerable, and tasty. Super soft and subtle. I expected a bomb due to its fame… nope! It lasts and projects like a body splash. I wouldn’t pay its price even if I were crazy.
Fancy is floral to me, not a sweet bomb, but watch out: it’s caramel and powder. The herbal opening threw me off; it reminded me of Ralph Lauren’s Woman, but after 30 minutes it sweetens into powdery caramel. I don’t see the extraordinary projection they claim, but it generates tons of compliments; even if it seems like it doesn’t project, it does. Worth it, it’s casual, versatile, and great value. I’ll probably buy it again. For lovers of powdery sweetness.
An absolute exquisite 🕉️, a true gem for women. Very delicious, not cloying at all, suitable for everyone and any weather.
I bought it because of the good reviews. It’s powdery and a bit sweet, but it just doesn’t work for me. Don’t buy it blindly.
I love the sweetness, but something weird happened: when I first opened it, it didn’t last at all. Now, it feels much more concentrated! It’s powerful, lasting about 8 hours: the first 3 with a nice trail, then it fades. Perfect for fall and winter ❤️
This scent proves that ‘taste breaks down genres.’ Reviews are positive and they call it a ‘great low-cost scent’; for me, it’s just cheap because I find an intensely sweet essence without identifying any floral chords. On my skin, it’s vanilla with sandalwood. No matter how many chances I gave it, I couldn’t identify anything pleasant.
I bought it blindly in August and it was a fiasco. I listed it on Vinted. Today, in November, I’m giving it another chance and I think I’ll keep it. It seems to have matured and gained body. Now it smells like buttery caramels. It’s not bad; at least it smells better than when it was first opened.
I started with Esika or L’bel, then tried Cloud by Ariana and loved it, but in cold weather, it felt overwhelming. After that, I tried Bright Crystal Absolut by Versace, Coach New York, and LVEB by Lancome, and none worked. I went back to Ariana with Ari, but it didn’t reach Cloud, my favorite (I also had Intense, but it loses a bit of the touch). I think the problem was the florals, so I went back to moderate-priced sweet/fruity scents: Fancy. The first spray smelled strongly synthetic with a hint of ‘retro,’ but not outdated. Almost immediately, I sensed vanilla, sweetness, but couldn’t decipher what it was. Over time, the fruitiness arrives, very delicious, seems like pear, then peach in syrup. It has an air of Cloud, but without the whipped cream creaminess. For the price, it’s very good. I’ll update later on projection, sillage, compliments, and longevity. 😊
I hesitated a lot to buy it online without trying it. I liked the profile, but the powdery note and almonds scared me. There were also contradictory reviews that left me undecided. Today, by chance, I tried it and didn’t hesitate to buy. It’s sweet, WITHOUT A DOUBT, but not cloying or invasive. It smells like a little caramel with fruity hints, and the powdery note is very, very soft. I’m really enjoying it.
Super sweet and very linear. It’s for daily wear, very similar to others on the market. I like it; it has good projection and longevity at a good price, but don’t expect anything special.
Oh, this little perfume 😂 I own perfumes over $200 and nobody compliments me, but with Fancy, they always do. I understand it’s an easy-to-please scent; it smells like a powdered custard 🍮. It lasts more than 8 hours.
Very sweet, with good longevity and sillage. It smells delicious, and what I smell most is caramel; it reminds me a bit of Viva La Juicy. It’s very versatile and the price is excellent for the quality.
It’s great, very well made, and doesn’t smell cheap like other celebrity scents. I’m not usually a sweet person, and this is sweet, but it’s not cloying. It’s not an edible gourmand, just a sweet scent that’s pleasant. Its sillage is low, so I’ve only used it at home (I prefer better projection). I hope it matures like others say. The disappointment isn’t the smell, but I expected the powerhouse beast that YouTube advertised.
It tastes delicious; the burnt almond note is very noticeable on skin, but unfortunately, it lasts about a breath.
So delicious! It’s sweet, super long-lasting, and gets me through the whole workday. My favorite right now. I detect red berries, sweet pear, and caramel. Very amber. For me, it’s a 10/10. I already have a refill and would buy it a thousand times over.
I bought it blind because it was praised as the ultimate and superior celebrity perfume… well, it disappointed me. Maybe it was my fault for setting high expectations; I was expecting something intense that would make me say Wow, but it smells flat, like common candy. I don’t feel it’s gourmand; it’s more like a fruity, honeyed daily body mist with soft sillage and one-hour longevity. I’ll give it a chance to macerate. Edit: I’ve finally gotten used to it over the days; I smell more vanilla now and the longevity has improved a bit. I use it for outings on non-scorching afternoons or for grabbing a coffee ☕️
A very elegant gourmand that I fell in love with. Sophisticated caramel with a gardenia and vanilla opening. Extremely addictive; if I had to pick one perfume to keep for the rest of my life, it would be this one. I bought it because they said it smelled like flan, and it was true: it smells like flan with white flowers on top, an elegant and sweet dessert. MY FAVORITE PERFUME, it’s exquisite, lasts over 8 hours, and is perfect.
The old batch was amazing: a delicious pear opening, caramel with almond, and a powdery vanilla dry-down; excellent sillage and longevity. I bought a recent 2023 batch and the liquid smells weak, super clear like water. Maybe it needs more maceration, but the opening screams alcohol, features a weird pear, and tastes like a shapeless sweet. The final vanilla is a bit cloying, nothing like the old version. Longevity and sillage are just average.
It’s sweet, but only a little. I’m 19, and if you like gourmand scents, I wouldn’t recommend this. The flowers and almond stand out more than the caramel, which smells like salty caramel. It has good longevity.
A sweet, gourmand yet elegant and sophisticated aroma. It’s very pleasant, but unfortunately, one note (maybe the sandalwood) gives me severe nausea and headaches. I can’t tolerate it, which is a shame because it smells delicious 🙁
A perfect blend of fruity, vanilla, and something creamy and milky. The top notes are fruits, like pear and strawberry, but natural—nothing like the artificial sprays you get from cheap stores. As it dries down, the fruits remain and mix with vanilla and a milky note like heavy cream, with a touch of white floral.
I love it. The salty caramel and almond scent is perfect. The only downside is that on my skin, it doesn’t last more than 3 hours. If it lasts for you or if you don’t mind reapplying, it’s an amazing perfume.
I couldn’t handle it again. It reminds me a lot of Shakira Gold (which is a dupe of Good Girl). It’s dry vanilla, salty caramel, and super floral. It’s not sexy; it gives me the vibe of a girl trying to look older. It smells like alcohol, probably due to the pear and quince notes. If you need something semi-long-lasting to dash out for a date and then have to shower because it overwhelms you and gives you a headache, this is it. (Glad I’m not the only one getting nauseous). There’s a similar body mist I prefer a thousand times over that lasts longer.
I tried it blind because of the glowing YouTube reviews, but I didn’t like it. It’s vanilla that lasts 12 hours, but the opening smells like artificial peach, like a car air freshener. When it dries down, it’s just caramel, almond, and vanilla. I liked it more in its dry state; it’s an autumn/winter scent. If you’re on a tight budget and want something long-lasting for everyday wear, it might work for you. If you already have a huge collection, you’ll probably gift it away like I did. They say older batches were better; mine was from 2022 and although it macerated a bit, it only improved slightly. I never wore it on nice days, so I gifted it.
Smells rich and the notes blend perfectly. It gains potency over time, though it does feel synthetic; but given the low price, that’s understandable.
