Killer Queen by Katy Perry

Killer Queen reminds me of a rosé wine with floral and fruity touches 🍷👑. At first, it’s sweet and floral with berries and juicy plum; as it dries down, it blends with the woody notes, gaining warmth and a bit of flirtatiousness without changing much. The trail is discreet; they notice you without being overwhelmed. Lasts 3-4 hours on skin and needs reapplication; lasts longer on clothes. Affordable price. Ideal if you like sweet florals or are a Katy Perry fan. Elegant and flirty, though it doesn’t last long. Rating: 8/10.

One of the first fragrances in my collection. I liked it back then, but my nose has evolved, and now I value performance. Killer Queen doesn’t have it. I’ve had it for a long time, and even after maceration, it doesn’t improve. I notice it’s similar to Flowerbomb, but I got rid of that one because of the powdery note (it wasn’t a ‘bomb’ in terms of projection or longevity, despite the price). It smells good for the cost, but it’s too fleeting.

The bottle is great, and Killer Queen smells super similar to Flowerbomb 💗. It seems like a good sexy perfume, dark and very nocturne… nothing cozy, I only use it for special night occasions 🌠🪐. And about Katy Perry… marvelous! 🙌

If you like sweet perfumes, it’s a good option; it has something of the female Lancôme Vie Estelle, ideal for cold days. Keep in mind that the longevity isn’t the best and the packaging is very uncomfortable because it has no base to stand it up or place it.

Killer Queen is a sweet and woody, gourmand, and neutral perfume. It doesn’t seem childish nor overly sophisticated, but it has character. I enjoy it a lot in winter, with decent performance and moderate sillage. Who will like it: lovers of praline.

I’ve never smelled Flowerbomb, but in a video a YouTuber did a challenge where her husband picked it as his favorite. While Killer Queen is similar, it evokes that masculine taste; it’s delicious, dark, and sensual yet serious and playful at the same time, I suppose it’s because of the patchouli, which is why people compare it to LVEB. I highly recommend it, especially for the price.

I love it; it lasts well in cold climates for about 6 hours and projects nicely, but in heat it lasts nothing, not even 3 hours, and doesn’t project much. It smells delicious, and its bottle, needless to say, is beautiful. It leaves a trail, and it reminds me of La Vie Est Belle, though it’s not the same.

I ran over here just to make sure I wasn’t crazy, and it smells like Flowerbomb… Now I can relax, haha.

I bought it blindly; I couldn’t resist its ridiculous price of 11,000 Chilean pesos (about $15), and when I received it, my reaction was like… WOW, this isn’t what I expected… and yet, I fell in love. Killer Queen is very pretty, and it’s pretty for its convenient price, its lovely bottle, and the fact that it doesn’t look like a celebrity perfume at all. It stays away from all the sugar bombs; here I sense liquor, berries, and humidity… it’s rich, warm, sensual, and intimate. Once it settles on the skin, it mixes in a super natural and appetizing way, leaving a sweet woody scent close to the skin, and I think that’s where I can finally recognize the praline. It’s beautiful. It’s recommended for autumn and winter in cold climates, my country is temperate, and I’m using it on the freshest days of summer or at night… it works super well. Lastly, try it if you can! Also, I don’t find it similar to La Vie Est Belle… I can’t find any common ground; this is much creamier and softer and definitely less sugary. As for Flowerbomb, I don’t know, I don’t know it.

The scent starts strong, with lots of alcohol and patchouli; if you don’t like that note, I recommend staying away because it’s quite marked and persistent. Once it settles, it smells like a woody liquor, slightly sweet, with chocolate hints; the patchouli gives it a ‘wet’ look, really fixing deliciously, although it took me a while to appreciate it. I find it interesting because it breaks away from the classic celebrity mold, although that’s exactly what kept me away for a long time; simply put, it smells different, it has another personality. Don’t buy it blindly and don’t do what I did by comparing it to Meow and Purr because they have nothing to do with this perfume at all. I think it looks great in summer and spring because the phases of the scent stand out better, which is more of a nighttime scent and has a sensual touch. It doesn’t have great longevity, but for the price, it’s more than okay. I think it might appeal more to girls over 20.

It has nothing to do with Flowerbomb or La Vie Est Belle. Killer Queen is red fruits, patchouli, praline, and woods. There’s maybe a 30% similarity to La Vie Est Belle or Flowerbomb, but that’s it. The opening is pure red fruits and patchouli; the praline is there but not noticeable enough. Once it settles, it’s sweet and well-wooded. The sillage is soft and the longevity is weak. Of Katy’s scents, I prefer Meow and Purr. I don’t like it and wouldn’t buy it again, although the bottle is gorgeous.

Another failed blind buy… I let myself be swayed by the good reviews and the fact that it’s a floral-fruit gourmand. The reality is that it has none of that on my nose or on two other people’s noses; the notes are potent and offensive. While the sillage isn’t super strong, you have to be an arm’s length away to tolerate it. If it has any sweet notes, I only like the opening because it’s fresh and sweet (it reminds me of my beloved La Vie Est Belle but less potent). Once it settles, only a dark woody note remains. I think it would suit mature women looking for strong, less sweet scents. I’ll keep testing it hoping my nose gets used to it.

Updating my review: over the days, I perceive more merits. It was a blind buy and I find it pleasant. On my skin, the sillage is soft and longevity is acceptable (around 8 hours). I detect red fruits, a pleasant alcohol, and then the praline sweetness which is cheerful and warm. It’s for daytime use; it’s not cloying or aggressive. At first, it seemed not very special, but with time, I like it more; close to the skin, it lasts over 12 hours. The bottle is cute, it’s winning me over, and I’d probably buy it again for the quality-price ratio.

NOTE: To know if reviews are accurate, you have to do a bit of research on the collections of the reviewers and see the level of perfumes they use; that defines their suitability to judge aromas.

Royal Revolution suits me better than Killer Queen. This one smells very woody, it’s powerful, and frankly, I’m not into perfumes with such a heavy body.
