I love this fragrance. The opening is citrus mixed with pepper, it has that tingling sensation similar to Givenchy’s Xeryus Rouge and a distant air of the original Habit Rouge. The dry down is softer, sweeter, with a slight floral touch. Unfortunately, it loses potency very quickly and longevity is not its strong suit. It’s a pity because if the performance were better, for me it would be a 10. The sillage is moderate at first and drops after the first hour. It lasts about 8 hours, but the last ones are very skin-close. I insist, I love the scent.
The little brother of Habit Rouge. The citrus opening is similar to the original, but here the bitter orange takes the lead instead of the lemon, with the rose as a nuance; the orange never leaves the dry down. This orange feels quite synthetic, with more woody than powdery nuances, almost musty, as if they had been in the same closet as Terre and caught each other’s scents, since both share that note. It evolves into a boring woody heart with dry and sweet tints: bamboo, suede, and vanilla, all soft, with good longevity and soft sillage. It really does have a sporty touch, that’s undeniable. I like the opening, even the DNA of its older brother is hinted at, but this little one has a lot of growing up to do and it weighs heavily on him to have an older brother who shines so much. I’m sorry, I’ll wait for it to mature, to see if it improves like good wines so I can try it again or if they reformulate it. Rating: 6
I stumbled upon this fragrance by chance at my favorite neighborhood perfumerie; they let me smell it to check if the contents were rancid, and I liked it immediately. I bought it for the good price. Right away, I knew it was soft and low-performing but high quality. At home, I tested it, and it feels ‘soft but delicious.’ I wore it at 6 AM after showering. With 50 sprays, I get an average projection of a meter, a soft sillage that enters my office but leaves no trace in the hallway. It lasts about 7 or 8 hours like a body bubble. The scent is exquisite, soft, powdery, comforting, clean, and refreshing; the low performance doesn’t matter. I prefer this to a potent beast with a loud, synthetic smell. I apply as many as I want, I don’t count them, on my neck, nape, chest, belly, arms… every part of the body deserves perfume. When I need fresh air, I step out of the room to avoid headaches from overload. I don’t mind if the bottle runs out, I have 200 more, and if I find another of this Habit Rouge, I’ll buy it without hesitation; you only live once, even if you’re buried with perfumes like a modern Tutankhamun, it’s all in vain. Sprays depend on the situation: at home after a shower, 4 or 5 are enough. I totally recommend it; it’s unisex, smells like floral talc (roses) with dry woods. If you find it cheap and forgive the mediocre performance for a gorgeous scent, it’s yours.
Without a doubt, this is the best Guerlain I’ve tried so far. It’s a very peculiar, unique, and powdery fragrance. You can definitely smell the blast of lime, jasmine, and rose. The longevity and projection are moderate, but it’s a beautiful composition, although I feel it’s more suited for formal occasions than what its ‘Sport’ label suggests. An excellent fragrance that I’ll keep with fondness ❤️
