  • Great find. Smells a lot like Versace Eros but holds its own. It’s more versatile and less brash, though the resemblance is huge, so some might not want both. I see this as an all-season scent except summer (unless it’s a party or a cool night). It’s sweet but not cloying or flashy like Eros. Performance is decent—not quite Versace level, but acceptable. I’d recommend it for younger folks, under 40.

  • The bottle and cap are handsome. I liked it in the store, and after reading it has tobacco notes, I decided to try it. You can definitely feel the kick of the pepper; some might find it rough, but the amber and tobacco sensation is great. I’ve only worn it in winter so far and loved it. Would be fun to try in summer to see how it reacts on my skin.

  • Bought it blindly based on reviews and the bottle, but watch out: this isn’t for cold weather. It works better in moderate daytime climates. At first, it smells like Mauboussine Pour Lui, but then it opens up fresher and spicier, with that mint that gives a ‘just brushed my teeth’ vibe. The trail is moderate and lasts about 4 hours. For the price, it’s just right—no more, no less. Perfect for daily wear and the office, very versatile.

I had high expectations, saw the reviews, and the bottle is pretty. Some compare it to Versace Eros at the start, but as it dries down, it becomes resinous, which makes sense given the tobacco and amber notes, since that minty part of Eros is what makes me hate it. In the end, I got it, tried it, and it’s the first perfume that completely disappoints me: extremely synthetic camphoraceous aroma (I’ve never had issues with synthetics), unpleasant mint, flat scent with no evolution, and it vanishes in minutes. I think there are other options with better price and performance.

I was really looking forward to trying this. The bottle looks great, and some reviews compared it to Versace Eros at first, noting how it turned resinous with tobacco and amber notes later. That sounded logical and appealing to me since I hate the mentholated part of Eros. In the end, I got it, and it’s the first perfume that completely disappointed me: it smells like extreme synthetic camphor (I’ve never had issues with synthetics), the mint is terrible, the scent is flat with no evolution, and it fades in minutes. I think there are better options with better price and performance.

For some reason, my dad liked this fragrance more than Versace. The latter seems more metro, sweet, and sophisticated to me; I’ve had a sample and smelled it several times. Guess 1981 is like a 70s or 80s Eros version, with a more masculine touch. Linear aroma, floral, herbal, resinous, with a mint infusion that could have been fresher. P.S.: I love the ginger.

  • BrowsBanks

The Eros that Versace never achieved; in my opinion, this is superior in scent. It’s not loud or cloying like the traditional one, and the tobacco note gives it all the body: quite deep and very sexy.

The Eros that Versace never managed to create; in my opinion, it’s superior. It’s not brash or cloying like the original, and the tobacco note gives it all the body, making it deep and very sexy.

  • At first, it smells a bit like Hugo Boss Bottled, then it shifts to a rich mint accompanied by ginger. Finally, the tobacco and amber make it more serious and sexy.

Want to know how Versace Eros EDT smelled before the reform for the EDP and Parfum? Here’s the answer: without a doubt, a true hidden gem.

  • I find it very mediocre. It lacks the charm of Eros, neither its longevity nor its projection. The mint is very noticeable and the plum is low quality. If the ingredients were better, it would be much better.

  • It feels very mediocre. It lacks the charm, longevity, and projection of Eros. The mint is way too noticeable, and the plum note is of very low quality. If the ingredients were better, it would be much more enjoyable.

I’m not an expert, but I hope to help those who buy it blind. Simply put, it smells similar to Versace Eros, though its longevity differs due to the price-to-quality ratio. It has a nice scent, very close to Versace’s, and the general public might confuse them. Hi, I like this site; before buying blind, I check reviews, and this time I hope to contribute.

I bought it recently; I live in Mérida and it was easy to find. For the price and quality, it’s worth it: elegant for going out at night, perfect for fall or winter. It’s reliable and I’ve gotten many compliments, especially at work (hospital). Don’t expect a miracle, but it gets the job done. I recommend 10 or 12 sprays to leave a good trail.

I recently picked this up in Mérida, Yucatán, and it was easy to find. Given the price and quality, it’s worth it. It’s an elegant fragrance for going out at night, perfect for autumn or winter. It delivers well and I’ve gotten compliments, especially at work (in a hospital). Don’t expect it to be a masterpiece, but it does its job. I recommend 10 or 12 sprays to get a good trail.

  • Short version: semi-formal for night outs, drinks with friends, or dinner. It starts with a non-citrusy, dark mint vibe; that plum note adds a mysterious touch and lasts all night. Tobacco and wood are very subtle, slightly sweet; together they smell like light incense. I love this nighttime fragrance. For the price, it doesn’t project much—maybe 1 hour at arm’s length—but in the wind, it leaves a rich trail. It’s not a masterpiece, but it delivers for the price and lasts 4 hours on skin. Reapplying doesn’t hurt. Recommend for 25+.

  • I’ll keep it brief: it’s semi-formal, great for nights out, with friends, a date, or dinner. The opening is less citrusy, featuring a dark mint and that plum that adds a mysterious touch. The tobacco and wood are very subtle, a little sweet; the blend feels like a light incense. It’s a nighttime fragrance I absolutely love. For the price, it doesn’t project much—maybe 1 hour or 1 meter—but with the wind, it leaves an amazing trail. It won’t be a gem, but it delivers for the price and lasts 4 hours on skin. Reapplying doesn’t hurt. I’d recommend it for 25+.

  • I smelled Versace Eros and, if they are similar, I prefer GUESS. My only complaint is the longevity: it’s cheap, so reapplying isn’t an issue, but if it lasted longer, I’d definitely pay more.

  • It doesn’t last long on me; I have to reapply or I don’t even feel it. I use it daily in winter, but I don’t recommend it in the heat because it’s so sweet. The quality is good for the price: Casa Guess is affordable and delivers. It is indeed very similar to Versace Eros, but if you apply them together, the Guess one feels more artificial.

  • Jimenez Scent

I’ve had it for a month. Upon receiving it, the smell was extremely synthetic and very sweet, lasting 4-5 hours. After letting it mature for three weeks, surprise! That unpleasant smell disappeared and the longevity improved significantly. Compared to Eros EDP (8-10 hours on my skin), this Guess now lasts about 8 hours and the scent is much more wearable; the sweetness has toned down, and it could be used on hot days without overdoing it. Conclusion: if you buy it, apply it and let it mature in a closet for at least two weeks.

  • A modern and fleeting fragrance. Nothing surprising; perfect for the office or gym, but I would never wear it on a date. I’ve been testing it for weeks to let it mature. I struggle to find the tobacco and vetiver (notes I was looking for), and on my skin, it doesn’t feel like a ‘sweet’ fragrance. As a reference, it’s perhaps on par with Zara or an affordable designer dupe. A safe buy if you can catch it on sale.

  • A very versatile and soft fragrance for everyday use. It highlights plum and amber in the opening (about 40 minutes), leaving behind a subtle sweetness with woods, tobacco, and a hint of mint. It doesn’t resemble Eros at all, except for the mint; it’s more similar to a blend of 1 Million, Hugo Boss Bottled, or Legend by MB. Scent: 9/10. Longevity: 4-6 hours max. Sillage: 5/10 average. Price: 10/10 accessible.

  • Personally, it doesn’t resemble Eros at all. The scent is pleasant, sweet, and warm; I don’t detect any tobacco, making it ideal for fresh or cold weather for daily wear at work or school. The price is accessible with moderate longevity (5-6 hours). The downside is that it lacks projection and the sillage is very intimate, but you can easily overapply it without issues without breaking the bank. Great value for money!

  • You pay exactly what you get; it’s not the eighth wonder. It has a slight similarity to Eros once dry, lasts about 5-6 hours, but projects little. It’s a bit synthetic, though pleasant. A great option for dates or outings in climates under 25°C. For the price, it’s excellent for smelling good without spending much.

  • Alexrojas2908

Smells like Eros but it’s super weak. The only good thing is that it’s very cheap.

  • EloyInfiesta

To me, it’s very similar to Eros; I own both, and when I bring my nose close to the atomizer, it’s hard to tell them apart. The only noticeable difference is that in this Guess, the amber notes come through more. Otherwise, it offers the same experience. Given the huge price difference, if you like the Eros line, it’s absolutely worth it. The performance is poor, but at around 20€, it’s a steal if you reapply.

  • Juan Pablo Melgoza Maldon

I was searching for perfumes that are worth the price and stumbled upon this one. While it’s often compared to Versace Eros, it’s not a clone: it opens with sweet plum and fresh mint, then dries down to warm tobacco and cinnamon, finishing with a creamy, ambered sandalwood. The magic happens as it dries down—it’s so similar to Eros that we got confused during a blind test. It’s sweet, fresh, and warm, it pleases every nose, and works in any season, though it’s best for fall and spring. Perfect for the office without being overpowering, or for nights out and dates.

  • Don’t buy this if you’re looking for projection, longevity, or originality; it’s only ideal for cheap bottle collectors or those who prefer perfumes without personality.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS FRAGRANCE UNLESS… you enjoy scents with low projection, trail, and longevity; you collect generic bottles with cheap-looking packaging; or you’re looking for fragrances without performance or personality.
