I went perfume shopping for my boyfriend, and this smells rich, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. The lavender note really stands out. It has a lot of body, making it ideal for winter rather than daily use.
I went perfume shopping for my boyfriend today, and this smells rich, but it wouldn’t be my first choice to buy. The lavender note really stands out. It’s a heavy-bodied perfume, ideal for winter, but not for daily use.
My brother got this as a gift; he already owns Gucci Guilty, and this is very similar to the original. I love it for a man. Perhaps the difference is that this one is more intense, whereas the other was already quite strong.
I was disappointed because I expected more strength and power. The scent is good, but it doesn’t dazzle; it’s lighter and not my style—I prefer bolder, more personality-driven fragrances. Still, I recommend it.
Deleted my previous review because I was too excited and not objective. Now, the verdict: lavender takes the lead as the key note, while cilantro is barely noticeable. In the middle, it smells more floral than green (neroli and orange blossom are, after all, orange flowers). At the end, cedar stands out, while patchouli stays in the background. It’s not a symphony; it’s more like a piano solo from a contemporary piece: simple but incredibly seductive. The trail is heavy and lasts over 12 hours. Ideal for winter or special nights; it holds up against pollution, though it can be worn during the day if you don’t overapply. Best for ages 20-30. If you like modern perfumes with great longevity, this is a must. Girls, especially young ones, will get plenty of compliments.
Deleted my previous review because it felt too subjective and more like an emotional overflow upon finding one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. Now I’m focusing on the scent: initially, lavender dominates, the key note; cilantro is almost imperceptible. In the middle, it feels more floral than green (neroli and orange blossom are orange flowers). At the end, cedar is more present; patchouli is more introverted. Since the development is simple, it’s not a classical symphony but a piano solo from a contemporary piece: simple but captivating and highly seductive. The trail is heavy and lasts over 12 hours. Recommended more for winter and special evening occasions; it stands out in polluted environments, though it also works during the day if you moderate the application. From my perspective, best for ages 20-30. Highly recommended if you like modern perfumes with classic sillage and longevity. Compliments from women, especially young ones, are guaranteed.
Gucci Guilty Black is a woody, herbal, and fresh fragrance. It opens with lavender, citrus, and orange blossom leaves, which are very distinctive of the line. It starts very dynamically and pleasantly. Shortly after, the cilantro and green notes add freshness and cheerfulness, maintaining this vibe well for 1 or 2 hours. Then the base becomes a bit boring, with a heavy ambroxan load, similar to Dior’s Sauvage. It stays fresh, even cold. I feel it blends characteristics of fougère colognes from decades past with a modern touch. Longevity was between 10 and 12 hours. Perfect for informal outings with friends, no age limit. Just to add, personally, I’ve liked recent Gucci fragrances for their aroma; the note combination is very pleasant, though they aren’t very original and sometimes lack longevity, but not in the case of the Guilty family.

I bought it in traveler format, 30 ml, just because I wanted a Gucci in my collection. Aromatic fougère… perfect, but not of impenetrable forests, rather of small parks with pines and natural herbs. It opens with lavender and cilantro, fresh and natural; the cilantro is invigorating. Then neroli and orange blossom give it a modern and sensual touch. The orange blossom is the heart, very Italian, like ripe and juicy oranges. It closes with a woody green note of cedar. To really feel it, you have to overapply. Very good, suitable for any age, daytime, refreshing. Longevity and sillage are moderate.
I picked this up in a 30ml traveler size just to have a Gucci in my collection (I hadn’t owned the G-G in years). It’s an aromatic fougère, but not of impenetrable forests; rather, small parks with pines and natural herbs, like a backyard garden. It has low longevity and is a bit weak, but it opens with very fresh and natural lavender and cilantro, just as the description says; the cilantro gives it a vigorous, cheerful touch. Then neroli and orange blossom add a modern, sensual nuance. The orange blossom is the heart, very Italian, like ripe, juicy oranges. It closes with a woody green cedar. To really feel it, you need to apply it generously. Very good, suitable for any age, daytime, refreshing, with moderate longevity and projection.
I bought the 30 ml traveler size on sale, blind buy. I agree with others: green and floral aroma, lavender and green notes dominate, with cedar, patchouli, and orange blossom in the base. Pleasant and recommended fragrance, but on my skin it lacks strength, very moderate, and the sillage is low. It lasts on the skin but right up against it. It’s my second Gucci, after Gucci Pour Homme II; I expected more strength and projection, but that wasn’t the case. I don’t dislike it, though I wouldn’t buy it again.
Very rich; if it came in an intense version, it would be a great perfume.
I picked it up on sale, and it smells great, nothing like the rumors say it’s strong. The florals dominate, rich from start to finish. The sillage is good and not heavy. The longevity is top-notch; I put it on at 10 AM, and it’s still there at 7 PM. The only thing that fails is the projection; it lacks a bit to be a 10. Rating 7.5/10. Youthful aroma, recommended from age 20; it works best in autumn and spring with the heat.
White floral aroma with mainly green notes. I don’t consider it fully night-time, but rather for formal events, outdoors, and daytime; that’s why it’s not very versatile, better for those over 20. It smells great; I’ve even received compliments, though I emphasize that the florals dominate. I don’t recommend buying it blind or applying it excessively. Its longevity stands out: I wore it at an outdoor event starting at 1 PM, and it was still audible at night; in fact, the shirt kept the scent for another day. However, it maintained moderate sillage, perceptible only at close range. Versatility = 7, Longevity = 10, Sillage = 8, Price = 9, Total = 8.5.
It’s a white floral scent with green notes. I don’t see it as strictly evening wear; I consider it better for informal events, outdoors, and daytime, so it’s not very versatile. Best for ages 20+. It smells great and I’ve received good compliments, although the floral notes dominate. I don’t recommend buying it blind or applying it excessively. The standout feature is longevity: I wore it to an outdoor event starting at 1 PM, and it was still noticeable at night; in fact, the shirt kept the scent for another day. The trail is moderate, at a close distance. Versatility = 7, Longevity = 10, Sillage = 8, Price = 9. Total = 8.5.
I discovered this fragrance through a coworker who wears it as his own. Since he bought it, he constantly brags that Guilty Black is ‘the best men’s fragrance out there’ just because it’s by Gucci (poor guy, so innocent). The best part is that my other coworkers didn’t agree with my funny friend. The worst part is that my friend has a pH that’s too volatile and heavy; on him, Guilty Black comes across as aggressive and invasive. In summer, it’s a nightmare because it unleashes the floral and green notes until it makes you dizzy. In winter, it’s even worse, as he overapplies it and the result smells like rodent killer or insecticide with lavender, cedar, and patchouli. In my case, I tested it on cloudy spring days, and fortunately, it behaved balanced: it lasted 5 to 6 hours with moderate sillage. On my skin, lavender, orange blossom, green notes, and cedar predominated. In conclusion, Guilty Black is acceptable/decent, has a generally good aroma (if the pH is right), but it doesn’t convince me to buy it because its high price ($105-$110 dollars in my city) leads me straight to more attractive options.
Smells like a modern man, nothing classic. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent. I recommend it as a signature scent. It’s versatile; I’ve worn it for dates, the office, and formal events. It lasts about 6 hours on me, with occasional lavender notes. It doesn’t project much, but it smells clean, and that’s more than enough.
Agree with everything said before, but I’d add this: although it’s herbal, it sometimes sounds like an old fougère without actually being one, which gives it a lot of merit. For now, I can’t judge its longevity since I only tested it on blotter paper. It’s an infallible gift; no one will dislike it.
Better than Black and more modern than Falete by Pantoja.
On my skin, it smells delicious and modern. If it smells bad on your skin, it’s a pH incompatibility; for me, it’s a delight.
Basically, it’s the Gucci Guilty EDT but greener and fresher, with a classic fougère touch without being outdated. The name is misleading; it’s not dark or nocturnal, it’s fresh and daytime for the office. I like the scent, but the longevity and projection fall short, just like its EDT and EDP siblings.
This was my first blind buy that disappointed me; a waste of money; I should have gone to test it first to see if it met my expectations. I was motivated to buy it because most of my perfumes are green or citrusy. Gucci Guilty Black isn’t the typical fresh green scent for a summer day. It’s a dark green, hence the name: a dark mix of woods, green notes, mosses, swamps, and black forest. It has nothing memorable; it feels like a generic perfume. The worst part is that it lasts a breath; projection and sillage are weak unless you want to spray it twenty times. The only thing I liked was the bottle. There are better and cheaper options on the market. A scam!
My first blind buy was a pain: a waste. I should have tested it. They motivated me with their greens and citrus, but Gucci Guilty Black isn’t a fresh summer green; it’s a dark green, a mix of wood, moss, and dark jungle. It has nothing memorable, smells like a pile, and lasts a breath with weak projection unless you spray it twenty times. The only good thing is the bottle. There are better and cheaper options. A rip-off!
Just bought it and I like it; it’s different with that cilantro note that makes it modern and elegant. I don’t get the bad reviews—if it’s not bad, every nose is different.
Amazing perfume! I loved it in every way and it’s become my signature.
I had this fourteen years ago: soft but delicious. I wouldn’t spend $90 on it again. The Zara Silver version is almost the same for $23.
Those who come from sweet scents like JPG or Invictus don’t get this; it’s elegant, a dark green, a fresh forest at night. It’s my work scent, though I wish it lasted longer.
Classic fougère with lavender and bergamot, very predictable and similar to other EDTs. On my skin, the dry-down isn’t pleasant, though I can stand it on clothes. Test before buying. P.S.: I don’t get along with fougères; I should stop ordering samples of this style.
Nice perfume, but it doesn’t deserve its price.
To be a Gucci, this is disappointing: it doesn’t last, has no projection, and smells like a 90s office worker. It’s pleasant, but that’s all, and only up close.
