  • Saying this smells like Ganymede is ridiculous, and I’m not a Zara hater. The similarity is only in the metallic tones, and that’s where we’ll leave it.

  • Just tried it in-store and it smells a lot like Ganymede. Once the alcohol settles (remember, it’s €15 compared to nearly €200), the opening is very similar. At home, spraying it on the other hand alongside the original, I notice differences, but I’d say they’re 80-90% alike. Of course, it has more plastic tones and lower quality than Marc Antoine Barrios (only thing missing, haha). As it dries, it diverges a bit more: Ganymede goes for a cold, dry metallic leather, while Gold Oddity sweetens up, becomes friendlier, and maybe less feminine. Still, I see it as 70-80% similar. As for longevity, it’s hard to compare because Ganymede gives me anosmia and I’m not even aware I’m wearing it (no compliments from anyone), but I notice Zara’s, probably because of that slightly sweeter, harsher, plastic edge. I’m not saying it replaces Ganymede since it lacks Quentin Bisch’s elegance, but it is a way to smell very similar for cheap, ideal for daily wear or work. Seems like a good move by Zara, just like Pistachio Infusion, which I tried today and for €10 it crushes Kayali’s Yum Pistacchio. Long live Zara, hope they keep it up!
