A pure sweetness bomb!
My sister gifted this to me for her birthday, and I smelled it today: it’s a pure sweetness bomb, as the other said. The first thing that caught my attention was the bottle, a hit. Upon smelling it, it smells like a fruit cocktail, undefined, even though it only lists peach. I wouldn’t recommend it for enclosed spaces or heat. It brought me several déjà vus, but I don’t know much about women’s perfumes, so for me, it’s nothing original.
I loved it. Out of everything I tried, it was the only one that lasted almost the whole day on my skin. I bought it immediately.
I loved it! Out of several I tried, it was the only one that lasted almost the entire day on my skin. Without a second thought, I bought it.
Shakira’s Elixir isn’t a revolution, but it’s decent, better than many. On my skin, it’s not a sweetness bomb; it’s soft, like pulverized sugar wrapping around you. I detect a hint of shaving foam (from the musk) that makes me think of shared bath scenes or pre-date moments, mixed with body lotion. Freesia dominates, feminine and cordial, with a very fresh, creamy peach and white flowers. Over time, it becomes soft and wearable, ideal for daytime. The dunes video fits perfectly: it conveys freshness and romance for being outdoors.
I have it and I agree with Mariana: it smells beastly, saturates everything. I don’t detect musk, freesia, or peach; just a cloying, overpowering amber that doesn’t convince me.
I own it and agree with Mariana: very strong, it saturates. I don’t detect musk, freesia, or the peach I love so much. I only smell a cloying amber note.
I tried it today and honestly, I didn’t like it at all. It overwhelms me, smells artificial, too strong, and cheap.
It’s a strong scent, but is it cheap? I’m not sure… it would take better defining what ‘cheap scent’ means. What did catch my attention, besides the pretty bottle, is its peach note; in that regard, it doesn’t envy any Victoria’s Secret sprays. However, I do agree that there are more innovative and clever fragrances out there. P.S.: My sister’s bottle is entirely gold, without the silver section. At first, I thought it was the Wild Elixir, but this one has a black cap top, while my sister’s is completely gold, and the bottom label just says ‘Elixir’.
Like all of Shakira’s perfumes: an overly sweet bomb that’s nothing original or different. Just a plain sweet scent.
I think it’s a very common scent, but very feminine. I only detect freesia, amber, and sugar. I don’t usually like sweet perfumes, but this one pleased me.
I think it’s a very common scent, though very feminine. I only detect freesia, amber, and sugar. I usually don’t like sweet perfumes, but this one actually pleased me.
Bad. Well, I had to smell it at the supermarket since it’s in the budget range, but I didn’t want to be rude and refuse the test. It’s a sweet scent, unchanging, without personality, that screams low quality and mass market; it feels more like a body tonic. I found nothing good or standout, neither for nor against.
It’s terrible. I heard about it in the supermarket as a budget option, but I didn’t want to be rude and refuse to try it. It’s a sweet, static scent with no personality, screaming low quality and mass market appeal; it smells more like body lotion. I can’t find anything good or standout about it, nothing special.
Out of the entire Elixir range, this is the one I like the least, though it’s not bad. Amber and brown sugar dominate, but you can detect musk; I even sense vanilla despite it not being listed. It’s Shakira’s bestseller, and after 2 or 3 hours, it softens into something rich and pleasant. It has great sillage and longevity, and the bottle is gorgeous—it truly lives up to its name, smelling like a real potion or elixir. I’d give it 7.5/10.
Out of all the Elixir de Shakira options, this is the one I like the least… but it’s not a failure. Amber and brown sugar dominate, though you can detect musk and even a ghost of vanilla. It’s the best-seller because it softens and becomes rich after a few hours. It has great sillage and longevity, and the bottle is lovely; it lives up to its name, looking like an elixir or a potion. I’d rate it 7.5/10.
It felt cloying to me. So overpowering that I couldn’t distinguish any individual notes; that’s exactly what it did on my skin. On the bright side, the projection and longevity are fair considering the price.
This perfume feels very generic. The notes aren’t well-defined, and it reminds me a lot of low-quality mass-market scents. I really didn’t like it. The longevity is decent, but overall, it just didn’t work for me.
SO SEXY :3 10
I bought it because the sales associate was the only one left, I didn’t smell it, and I must say I regret it. It’s a generic scent, I didn’t like it at all, I can’t stand it. Honestly, I don’t like this singer’s perfumes; I’ve tried others and would never buy another one of hers again.
I bought it because that was the only one left in stock, and I didn’t even get to smell it beforehand. I have to say, I regret it. It smells like a generic drugstore fragrance; I didn’t like it at all and can’t stand it. To be honest, I’m not a fan of this singer’s perfumes. I’ve tried others, and I would never buy another one of hers.
I love it! Despite being budget-friendly, it’s not a bad product and offers unbeatable value for money. It has powerful projection and lasts a long time on the skin. The scent is very warm and sweet, reminding me of brown sugar, which I adore. Honestly, there are many famous perfumes that are much worse than this one.
I love this perfume! Even though it’s budget-friendly, it’s not a bad product at all. The quality-to-price ratio is unbeatable thanks to its powerful trail and long-lasting performance on the skin. As for the scent, it’s very warm and sweet; I get a vibe similar to brown sugar, and I absolutely adore it. Honestly, there are many celebrity perfumes that are way worse than this one.
This Shakira perfume has a serious flaw: the scent doesn’t last. I’m giving it a 4 out of 10, and that’s being generous.
This Shakira perfume has a serious problem: the scent doesn’t last. I’d give it a 4 out of 10, and I’m being generous.
In my case, I don’t like basic scents on women; this one is excessively sweet. It doesn’t evolve over time, it’s just very basic. Shakira, why do you lend your image to such bad fragrances??
I liked it because it smells like sandalwood, very oriental. Unfortunately, it got too strong after a short while and the liquid turned a darker color. Had to throw it away 🙁
Honestly, I expected more from the ‘Elixir’ line and Shakira in general; they’re not bad, but they’re basic. I wanted something oriental different from what I usually wear. On my skin, it initially smelled like pure alcohol and took time to develop (with Wild Elixir it’s worse, lots of alcohol and the notes arrive late). I tested it on a relative with darker skin, and there it was a completely different scent, a pleasant oriental aroma. I realize that sometimes cheap fragrances depend heavily on pH to react. In the end, there are no bad perfumes; what one person likes, another might not connect with, and vice versa.
I love it! Unlike other reviews, I don’t find it generic. It’s not incredible, but I like it. It’s very sweet; I detect peach and something distinct, not a common sweet-and-vanilla vibe. Longevity on the skin was good, and on clothes, even better. I feel it’s sensual, attractive, and very feminine. Two downsides: when I gifted it to my mother, it smelled more pleasant and less sweet on her; when I bought it for myself years later, it wasn’t the same—the first batch was better and more exquisite. On my skin, I also get a slightly boozy note. It’s rich and I love it, but it was overwhelming in summer, so I switched to fall-winter. In short, I recommend it. It’s moderately priced, lasts quite a bit for the cost, and is convenient. Use it in cooler seasons or in spring-summer evenings with moderate sprays to avoid being cloying. With that, it’s enjoyable.
I love it! Unlike others, it doesn’t smell like a supermarket perfume. It’s not a massive hit, but I’m obsessed. It’s super sweet; I can definitely detect the peach, and it has something distinct from common vanillas. Lasting power on skin is good, but on clothes, it’s on another level. It feels sensual, attractive, and very feminine. Two small cons: when I gifted it to my mom, on her it was sweet but more pleasant, not as sugary as on me (I love gourmand scents, but on my skin, it’s too much). Also, years later I bought it for myself, and it wasn’t the same; the one I gave my mom was better, feeling exquisite. On my skin, I also feel it’s boozy. Rich, I love it, but in summer it was too much and I had to stash it until fall-winter. In short, I recommend it. Moderate price in Argentina and for that price, it lasts quite a while. Use it fresh or in spring-summer at night with moderate sprays so you don’t get cloyed. With that, it’s enjoyable.
