Decadence Eau So Decadent by Marc Jacobs

I remember a few years ago when Decadence first launched, I smelled it in a perfumery and hated it. Just like that. I couldn’t tolerate it. My nose was different, my tastes too. Unfortunately, since it was discontinued, I couldn’t smell the classic again and couldn’t understand the love for that fragrance. I’d never heard of this version and saw it at an excellent price, so I decided to buy it blindly. I honestly didn’t expect anything good; I thought I’d hate it and the bottle would end up as mere decoration, but wow! In my opinion, it differs completely from the classic (according to my olfactory memory). It’s fresh, floral with a sweet base (just the right amount). I put it on in the morning, and after 6 hours, I can still smell it. Today is a warm 25-degree day with a light breeze. I think it’s the ideal temperature to enjoy it. Every time my hair moves, I feel the perfume blooming from my pores, delighting my sense of smell. It’s a caress to the heart. I’m seriously thinking about buying a backup… that says it all. If you like fresh, lightly sweet floral perfumes, this one will definitely conquer you. I can’t recall any perfume that resembles it enough to give an idea of “what it smells like.” I’ll just say I really detect the lilies, magnolia, and ivy. But it’s a lovely fresh scent, not one of those that makes you feel like wet grass or a swampy lake, haha. Anyway, so happy to have found So Decadent!

I bought it blindly during a super mega sale. I let myself be swept away by the reviews and comments and fell for the temptation. Eager to try it and get to know it (typical blind buy behavior). As soon as I put it on, I sensed a green, sweet, fruity aroma: probably due to the blackcurrants and raspberries. Green notes: ivy, magnolia, jasmine, lilies. Sometimes I sense an artificial aroma; so far, it doesn’t remind me of any other perfume—it’s unique. “Love it or hate it.” It’s not for everyone. Does it resemble its siblings? No, not at all; it steps completely out of the line. I recommend it for Spring/Summer; it’s super fresh, versatile, fruity, and green. It lasts a minimum of 8 hours with moderate sillage. If you like these green, fruity, sweet aromas, this Eau So Decadence is for you. The packaging is gorgeous.

This perfume just arrived. Honestly, I wanted it because I’d never tried any from this brand, and the packaging looked stunning. Did the scent kill it? Obviously not what I expected, and if it’s about the smell, I wouldn’t buy it again, but mostly because these aren’t scents I’d choose. I prefer sweeter ones, and this is very subtle in that regard. It gives a freshly showered, soapy, soft vibe. I don’t know how long it lasts yet since I haven’t tested the longevity. It’s extremely green; while it seems more floral, the ivy is very noticeable, and the pear highlights that green note even more. I’m not regretting the purchase, but I know it will be hard to finish using…

I don’t like its sharp, sour citrus opening. As the acidity fades, it smells like fresh green pear and creamy white flowers, like a soft floral lotion with a herbal touch. In the dry down, I sense an almost imperceptible, powdery raspberry, which is the only thing I like. It’s very soft; it reminds me of a silent, high-end mom without personality. I find it boring; I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh floral cream scent, zero sweetness, for stifling summer days. Medium longevity, about 4 hours on skin.

It’s a wonderful, simple, and cheerful scent that’s refreshing yet still special and elegant. I detect an undeclared coconut note almost at the opening, sweet and discreet, which slowly transforms into something slightly acidic over time—perhaps a subtle shadow of the raspberry that appears later. I also sense ivy trailing softly behind the other notes without overpowering them, carrying those delicate white flowers. Truly a marvelous fragrance. I’m head over heels for it.

It dries down soft and luminous—wonderful, feminine, free, and delicious. I love the bottle!

I just acquired it after searching for a long time. Actually, I was looking for the original Decadence but stumbled upon this gem; where has it been all my life?? A fruity and fresh aroma, nothing overwhelming, creamy; it smells like banana to me. It’s a fruity fragrance unlike any other; it has become my favorite of all time. Too bad they discontinued this beauty.

Definitely, no fragrance is like it; it’s so original, fruity but an elegant fruit, versatile—you can wear it day or night, though I prefer it at night; it makes me feel elegant. The bottle is a beauty; I love its bottle. Honestly, it’s in my top 5 for longevity, with moderate to high sillage. I’d buy it a thousand times over.

One word: ALIENATING. It’s not a daily wear, but when I use it, I feel special, elegant, and happy. Perfect for nights out with friends or a partner. The longevity is top-notch. This is the only one from this line I’ve liked; the others have a vibe I can’t stand. This Decadence is a gem, I recommend it.

Fresh opening, but on my skin it smells like herbal detergent or soap, not clean. Less projection than the original or Divine (which are EDPs) because this is an EDT. It feels very different from the classic—same vibe, but a different scent.

I bought it blindly during a promo with good reviews, but as soon as I put it on, it smells like alcohol and then cheap perfume I can’t stand. The bottle and box are luxurious, but on my skin, it smells cheap 😔.

Amazing! Smells like a garden full of fruit trees, flowers, and green leaves. I love it.
