Cuba Red by Cuba Paris

I think I’m smelling something different from others. It’s a barbershop fragrance from another century, perhaps due to the moss, but with less power. Except for the opening, which is a bit alcoholic, everything is very low-key. The tobacco is well-placed, with a bitter touch that adds realism and might scare off typical modern noses. I sense hidden wood under the tobacco, but also lavender that softens that barbershop vibe. I don’t detect many spices, maybe a hint of clove and very soft anise. The patchouli is heavily muted. Overall, it’s fresh and clean without being soapy, perfect for being comfortable without lasting or projecting much. It’s a humble product that delivers a lot for its price. It won’t blow your mind, but it gives a minute of uncomplicated pleasure. The box is top. Verdict: dispensable, but if you try it, it won’t be a foolish purchase.

My second favorite from Cuba Paris, that says a lot. This house has a dry, spiced signature with tobacco as the star. This is that accord made into perfume: a dry, crushed tobacco leaf with clove, cumin, star anise, cinnamon, and lots of pepper. The opening is fresh/mentholated but fades quickly, leaving that described profile. The dry-down is elegant and classic thanks to that green touch and lots of dry wood. If you like tobacco, give it a try; it works all year round, though autumn is ideal. One of the brand’s most solid proposals, good performance, and a great price. I agree with what was said about Shiseido Tactics. Cuba has great fragrances, but this is the first one I’ve tried and my favorite. It has nothing to do with Boucheron or citrus colognes. In Cuba Red, I detect powerful tobacco with patchouli and herbs, a scent with clear 80s inspiration but very well executed and addictive. Also dry: as the previous reviewer said, it doesn’t cloy, quite the opposite. I recommend anyone who tries it to apply generously, despite its strong opening; the fragrance rewards it, stabilizes on its own, and lasts hours with good projection.

I love it; it’s a delight whenever you like woody and tobacco perfumes. Since I love smoking, I understand that’s one of the reasons it fascinates me. It has a very masculine scent but isn’t too youthful. I recommend it for people over 30; it’s suitable for daily wear. It’s very affordable in Ecuador, ranging around $20. Longevity and sillage are good for the price. They say it’s similar to Burberry London, which I haven’t tried yet. I totally recommend it if you like strong tobacco and wood scents.

Hi, I’m new to writing reviews but I’ve been reading them for a while. I’ve had this perfume for a bit and find it very pleasant. I detect tobacco and herbs, quite similar to Burberry London. It’s better suited for cooler climates and has good longevity. The fragrances from Cuba (Gold, Black, and Prestige Classic) are excellent for the price. It’s a fairly mature scent; I’d recommend it for someone over 30.

Starts with a delicious herbal patchouli and then the semi-sweet tobacco takes the show. Along with Cuba Gold (which smells similar to Le Male), it’s my favorites from the brand. The dry-down is very subtle but pleasant, 80s-style, refined and nice; fortunately, it doesn’t turn harsh or smell like a bath bomb like other Cubas I’ve bought. This one is highly recommended.

Forget that it’s cheap and doesn’t last long; the scent is top-tier, one of my favorites. The only downside is that lingering Cuban note it leaves on clothes after hours, but the opening is brutal. If you know anything that sounds like the opening, let me know—I’ve looked for other ‘better quality’ options and can’t find anything that casts a shadow on it.

Like almost everything from the brand, it performs poorly (a few hours and a meter of sillage). In heat or enclosed spaces, it can be overwhelming, so better for outdoors or cool climates. Don’t buy blindly 🕉️🕉️🕉️

Of the two Cuba Paris scents I own, this and the Gold, both have moderate sillage and longevity, so reapplication is needed, but it’s worth it for the price. Cuba Red has a tobacco accord that reminds me of a box of Habanos, exactly. It doesn’t smell suffocating; it’s rich, sparkling, and casual.
