Smells like those 80s perfumes with tobacco, woods, and oakmoss, although I didn’t like the spices. Among what I’ve tried from Cuba, it’s a success for trying to be original without copying, although it lacks a bit of its own identity, reminding of several but none in particular. The good thing is it has a ridiculous price, a practical bottle for carrying, and in my case, it lasted more than eight hours with moderate sillage. If you like classic 80s scents with tobacco and green notes, but without the dense resins of Polo or V&A Pour Homme, this is your option.

This fragrance evokes parts of 80s perfumes thanks to its tobacco, woods, and oakmoss (I didn’t like the spices). Among what I’ve tried from Cuba, it’s quite good for trying to be original without copying, although its flaw is that it lacks identity, reminding of several but none in particular. It has the advantages of other Cubas: extremely cheap price, practical packaging, and in my case, it lasted more than eight hours with moderate sillage. If you like classic 80s aromas with tobacco and green notes, but without the dense resins of Polo or V&A Pour Homme, it’s a good option.

Neither very good nor bad. At 18, this clean and classic style isn’t for me. The tobacco and mint notes dominate a lot and sometimes feel a bit paternal for a young person, but that doesn’t mean it smells good.

  • villegas728

Suitable for older men, good longevity and projection. The smell is just too old-fashioned for my taste. Be careful not to overapply.

  • Ideal for older people, it holds up well and leaves a nice trail. The scent sounds too vintage for my taste. Be careful, don’t overapply.

  • I agree with what was said about Shiseido Tactics. Cuba has great fragrances, but this is the first one I’ve tried and my favorite. It has nothing to do with Boucheron or citrus colognes. In Cuba Red, I detect powerful tobacco with patchouli and herbs, a scent with clear 80s inspiration but very well executed and addictive. Also dry: as the previous reviewer said, it doesn’t cloy, quite the opposite. I recommend anyone who tries it to apply generously, despite its strong opening; the fragrance rewards it, stabilizes on its own, and lasts hours with good projection.

They gave it to me for Christmas and I didn’t expect it, let alone such an exquisite aroma. Although it has been compared to several, it doesn’t seem anything like Boucheron to me. I agree with the previous one that it’s a herbal, tobacco-blended scent with a sweetness that doesn’t cloy. I’m in love and recommend trying it: smell it, spray it, and see how it evolves. I’d give it a 9 or an 8.

They gave it to me for Christmas, and even though they forgot to bring it, I didn’t expect such an exquisite scent. They’ve compared the perfume to several fragrances; while I can’t rule them all out, it definitely doesn’t resemble Boucheron. I agree with the previous reviewer: it’s a herbal, tobacco-blended scent with a sweetness that doesn’t cloy. I’m in love with it. I only recommend trying it: smell it, spray it, and watch how it evolves. I’d give it a 9/10 or an 8/10.

Starts with a delicious herbal patchouli, then the semi-sweet tobacco takes over. Along with Cuba Gold (which smells similar to Le Male), it’s my favorite from the brand. The dry-down is very soft, pleasant, and 80s-styled; it feels refined and nice, without turning harsh or smelling like a bath bomb like other Cubas I’ve tried. Highly recommended.

Starts with a delicious herbal patchouli and then the semi-sweet tobacco takes the show. Along with Cuba Gold (which smells similar to Le Male), it’s my favorites from the brand. The dry-down is very subtle but pleasant, 80s-style, refined and nice; fortunately, it doesn’t turn harsh or smell like a bath bomb like other Cubas I’ve bought. This one is highly recommended.

  • How is it supposed to be similar to Boucheron Pour Homme? Please, don’t mislead people. It smells like tobacco, nothing more, and I don’t find it a pleasant scent; even the top notes remind me of petroleum. It certainly lacks citrus or floral notes. It’s not my type of cologne; it feels suffocating to me.

  • I love it; it’s a delight whenever you like woody and tobacco perfumes. Since I love smoking, I understand that’s one of the reasons it fascinates me. It has a very masculine scent but isn’t too youthful. I recommend it for people over 30; it’s suitable for daily wear. It’s very affordable in Ecuador, ranging around $20. Longevity and sillage are good for the price. They say it’s similar to Burberry London, which I haven’t tried yet. I totally recommend it if you like strong tobacco and wood scents.

  • Hi, I’m new to writing reviews but I’ve been reading them for a while. I’ve had this perfume for a bit and find it very pleasant. I detect tobacco and herbs, quite similar to Burberry London. It’s better suited for cooler climates and has good longevity. The fragrances from Cuba (Gold, Black, and Prestige Classic) are excellent for the price. It’s a fairly mature scent; I’d recommend it for someone over 30.

  • I didn’t like it much; honestly, I expected something else. The scent doesn’t suit my skin; it stays dark and very bitter, and I can’t find anything that catches my attention. Every nose is different, so if you like it, enjoy it. The price is ridiculous.

  • Not even good as an air freshener in the bathroom; it smells like insecticide and the scent is really unpleasant.

  • I wouldn’t even use it as an air freshener in the bathroom. It smells like insecticide to me; it’s annoying.

  • imnotlarry

Eighties vibe. Opens with herbal and mentholated patchouli, reminding me of a neighborhood barbershop. It’s for daytime wear, perfect for going to work (everyday use, not for formal events).

  • Fresh herbal tobacco, gives a minty vibe even though it doesn’t contain mint; smells classic and very masculine, perfect for mature guys. The scent is rich with medium longevity and projection. For the price, it’s a hit.

  • Tobacco, fresh, and herbal; it gives the impression of having mint even though it doesn’t. I see this as something for a more mature audience; it’s rich, masculine, and classic. The longevity and sillage are average, but for the price, it’s a great deal.

  • Andresrosas

One of the worst fragrances I’ve ever tried. It smells bad and very generic. I don’t recommend it at all.

  • Tobacco is the most noticeable note, though I’d prefer less. The opening is very abrupt and doesn’t grab me, but after 15 or 20 minutes it starts to hold up. It offers good value for money, ideal for anyone looking for an affordable tobacco scent; if you don’t like it, you’ll be repelled. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • Out of all the Cuba Paris I’ve tried, this is my second favorite, which says a lot about the perfume. This house has a dry, spiced accord with prominent tobacco, and this is that accord made into a perfume: it smells like crushed dry tobacco leaf mixed with spices like clove, cumin, star anise, cinnamon, and lots of pepper. At first, it smells fresh and mentholated, but that disappears quickly, leaving the described aroma. The dry-down is elegant, classic with the green nuance, and very dry wood. If you like tobacco perfumes, try it; it’s highly recommended for any season, standing out in autumn. It’s one of the most solid proposals from Cuba Paris and, given its price and performance, a very good purchase. • My second favorite from Cuba Paris, that says a lot. This house has a dry, spiced signature with tobacco as the star. This is that accord made into perfume: a dry, crushed tobacco leaf with clove, cumin, star anise, cinnamon, and lots of pepper. The opening is fresh/mentholated but fades quickly, leaving that described profile. The dry-down is elegant and classic thanks to that green touch and lots of dry wood. If you like tobacco, give it a try; it works all year round, though autumn is ideal. One of the brand’s most solid proposals, good performance, and a great price. • Ephemeral longevity and sillage: no trace left after two hours. For that price, anything from Zara or the Nautica line deserves more.

  • Of the two Cuba Paris scents I own, this and the Gold, both have moderate sillage and longevity, so reapplication is needed, but it’s worth it for the price. Cuba Red has a tobacco accord that reminds me of a box of Habanos, exactly. It doesn’t smell suffocating; it’s rich, sparkling, and casual.

  • Pleasant, but you have to digest it (not for everyone 😂). It has nice spices with an earthy touch that doesn’t suit everyone. Like almost everything from the brand, it performs poorly (a few hours and a meter of sillage). In heat or enclosed spaces, it can be overwhelming, so better for outdoors or cool climates. Don’t buy blindly 🕉️🕉️🕉️

A blast from the 70s or 80s: right out of the bottle, it smells like fresh herbs, but once it settles, it turns into wood and tobacco. Ideal for men in their 30s or 40s looking for something serious. The sillage is intimate and longevity is moderate, so you need to reapply. Tip: apply generously in ventilated areas; the opening is strong but calms down in minutes.

  • Smells like full-on tobacco! On skin, it lasts over 8 hours, and on clothes, over 24. It’s for people over 30, to use at night or in winter.

  • Mr. Baskerville

I think I’m smelling something different from others. It’s a barbershop fragrance from another century, perhaps due to the moss, but with less power. Except for the opening, which is a bit alcoholic, everything is very low-key. The tobacco is well-placed, with a bitter touch that adds realism and might scare off typical modern noses. I sense hidden wood under the tobacco, but also lavender that softens that barbershop vibe. I don’t detect many spices, maybe a hint of clove and very soft anise. The patchouli is heavily muted. Overall, it’s fresh and clean without being soapy, perfect for being comfortable without lasting or projecting much. It’s a humble product that delivers a lot for its price. It won’t blow your mind, but it gives a minute of uncomplicated pleasure. The box is top. Verdict: dispensable, but if you try it, it won’t be a foolish purchase.

  • Trey Welsh

It smells old-school, like a classic barbershop thanks to that moss base. Once it settles, it’s pure, characteristic tobacco. Ideal for cool days, 15 degrees or below, very wearable. Longevity and sillage are medium, but for the price, you can buy it without regrets. If you like sweet scents, stick to your thing; this isn’t for you.

  • What a beast! It transported me back to the 70s and 80s, smelling of blond tobacco over oak moss. I can picture that golden 1975 Mercedes SL450 and all that glamour; it’s brutal. It’s not for the Gen Z crowd. The longevity is what it is, but given the price I got it for, I don’t care.

  • Ing. DelaCroix

Forget that it’s cheap and doesn’t last long; the scent is top-tier, one of my favorites. The only downside is that lingering Cuban note it leaves on clothes after hours, but the opening is brutal. If you know anything that sounds like the opening, let me know—I’ve looked for other ‘better quality’ options and can’t find anything that casts a shadow on it.
