It worked better for me than the EDP; it’s one of the best EDTs I’ve bought. Expensive, but the quality stands out against other designer scents. It starts with powerful lemon, then the pine rises and the citrus drops. The pine is so real that a friend said it sounded like I’d just rolled over in a forest; another said it smelled rich. Masculine scent, don’t be alarmed: up close it smells sweet and rich, though the power and performance aren’t great. After twelve hours, only the sweet, faint notes remain. My rating: 8.5. If you have money to spare, get it; if you’re on a budget, look for other options. I would buy it again.

True what daviddve says about the box and the EDT version. My Costa Azzurra EDT leaves much to be desired compared to Mandarino di Amalfi EDP. But the olfactory quality is such that other perfumes seemed artificial to me, and I had to give them away; the synthetic smell bothered me so much.

Honestly, this EDT performed better than the EDP. It’s one of the best purchases I’ve made; yes, it’s pricey, but the quality really stands out compared to other designer fragrances. It opens with a powerful lemon note where you can definitely smell the pine, then the pine rises while the lemon fades. Those are my favorite notes, even if I can’t distinguish the others. That pine is so real that one friend said it smelled like I’d rolled in a forest, another said it smelled great, and a third stuck to my neck. Sure, it depends on taste, but I absolutely love it. It’s a masculine scent, don’t be alarmed: the pine is charming because when you get close to the arm, it smells sweet and delicious, so much so that I wish it had more potency and longevity. It’s not perfect for me since the scent waxes and wanes; after twelve hours, I only detect the sweetness, with the pine and lemon becoming very faint. My rating is 8.5. If you have the itch and the money to spare, go for it; if you’re on a tight budget, skip it because there are better options. I’d buy it again even if it’s not a masterpiece.

  • Agree with Mariano. I expected the Portofino line to be aquatic, but this Costa Azzurra smells like PINE, hyper-realistic and fresh with lemon in the base. Very green, nothing aquatic as one might imagine. Ideal for summer, even above 30 degrees. Lasts between 6 and 8 hours, below Tom Ford’s average, but acceptable. The ACQUA or EAU versions are basically the EDT of the classic EDP. The price is 50% of the original, a huge difference: for $120-150 you get 100ml of Private Blend with guaranteed quality. The downside is the packaging: common box, not the sophisticated case of the classic, though the bottle is just as good. Scent 8, originality 8, versatility 8.5, summer, +24 years, quality 9.5, price 7.5, sillage 7, longevity 7.5, design 9.5. Total: 8.

What’s the point of a pretty bottle if the scent is poor? You feel the beach trip, clean citrus, and comforting herbs, but they NEVER mention that it doesn’t last, just like Tom Ford’s freshies. Why high ratings if the projection is non-existent? Don’t waste money on Tom Ford when there are better options. In a retail store, it lasted less than an hour on the skin and two hours total. Maybe it works better on some, but it’s a rip-off for these luxury summer fragrances. Scent 8/10, projection 1/10, longevity 2/10, value 1/10. Final score: 3.

  • When I was a teenager, I used to wear a Guy Laroche fragrance in the summer… I wore it for several years and used many bottles of that perfume, which I believe is now discontinued. Tom Ford’s Costa Azzurra immediately took me back to those memories of youth. Looking at the notes, I see several similarities, and it’s not just nostalgia making me compare them; it smells like a pine forest with a fresh breeze of citrus and a slight salty sensation from the marine notes. It’s like a breeze from a pine forest on the seashore. It’s very pleasant and refreshing. I agree that the TF doesn’t meet expectations for its price regarding longevity; I’d be willing to say that the Laroche performed much better in terms of performance and projection, but unfortunately, I can’t confirm that anymore since it’s no longer available. Regardless, the quality of the ingredients in Costa Azzurra is undeniable. A very refreshing fragrance for summer… if you can afford the price.

  • As a teen, I used a Guy Laroche in the summer, several bottles; I believe it’s discontinued now. Costa Azzurra took me straight back to that memory. Laroche was Horizon; comparing the notes, there are similarities. It’s a pine forest with a citrus breeze and a salty touch, like the wind on the shore. Very pleasant and fresh. I agree: the longevity doesn’t justify the price; the old Laroche lasted longer, but it’s gone. Undeniable quality, ideal for summer if you can afford the luxury.

  • Nothing new under the sun. At 30 minutes, the pine explodes, which is a treat if you like that sensation. Forget the sillage; it’s meant to be enjoyed by you alone. One downside: the sweet dry-down felt cloying to me, though others might enjoy it.

  • Top summer pick, nothing aquatic. The pine and cypress give it a mature vibe, but the quality is brutal. Smells like the Mediterranean coast and I love it. Projection 6.5/10, longevity 6.5/10.

  • Excellent option for summer, definitely not aquatic. I find it a bit mature, perhaps due to the pine and cypress. It’s overflowing with quality. Smells like the Mediterranean coast and I love it… Projection 6.5/10, longevity 6.5/10.
