Descripción

Mandarino di Amalfi by Tom Ford is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2014, the nose behind this composition is Calice Becker. The top notes unfold with lemon, grapefruit, mint, basil, tarragon, and black currant; the heart reveals orange blossom, jasmine, statice, shiso, coriander, and black pepper; while the base notes settle with musk, vetiver, amber, labdanum, and agarwood.

  • The first time I tried it, it sounded weird to me, but then I absolutely loved it; it’s one of the best summer fragrances, with an incredible freshness that lingers in the air. I wish the sillage were better, but it lasts quite a bit on the skin. Over time, it turns sweet without losing its essential notes. The price is high, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it as a gift for my birthday.

  • I must admit, the first time I smelled it, I thought it was strange, but after a while, wow, I loved it, and it’s one of the best for summer. Tremendous freshness that lingers; I wish it had better projection, but it’s quite durable on the skin trail. It turns sweet over time without losing its essential notes. The price is high, but I don’t hesitate to buy it as a self-gift for my birthday.

  • I bought Tom Ford’s Mandarino di Amalfi blindly in 100 ml. The first time I smelled it, I almost threw it away because it smelled like lemon floor cleaner. Thank God, it later changed and became refreshing. I don’t want to be poetic because I hate those kinds of reviews, but this scent fills me up. That said, it doesn’t last long; I’ve had it since this summer and I don’t know how it will hold up in winter, but on hot days it doesn’t last more than three hours. I wouldn’t buy it again because it doesn’t give good value, although I’ll miss it; maybe its EDT version is better, like what happened with Tom Ford’s Costa Azzurra. Scent 8.5/10, performance 6/10.

  • Tom Ford’s Mandarino di Amalfi is a very good citrus, I absolutely loved it. It has a pleasant fruity citrus opening that gives freshness and energy. Plus, it features herbal notes and fresh spices that make it very Mediterranean. It’s one of the citrus fragrances with the best longevity I’ve tried; it lasted nearly 10 hours. Being light, it’s excellent for summer or hot days to fill you with good vibes. That said, the price is very high, a luxury, but everyone decides if it’s worth it.

It reminds me a lot of Allure Edition Blanche de Chanel at first: a flood of lemon and grapefruit with a strong mint base that hits you hard. The middle notes are pepper, orange blossom, and jasmine, which I hate deeply, especially in men’s perfumes, as I find that note overly feminine and floral, typical of summer lines. The base is musky and ambered but very soft, lacking any strong animalic power (no civet), and while the vetiver stands out without being annoying, I don’t understand why since I love that green note, especially on hot summer nights, yet it’s barely noticeable here. I think it’s another perfume from the Tom Ford collection; although the house has masterpieces, this one passes without making a mark. Luckily, I was gifted it, as for less money there are better summer options (I was looking for something new for hot nights). It runs around 250 euros for 50 ml, and while it’s quality and long-lasting, it’s not made to leave a lasting impression.

I bought it blind in 100ml. The first time I almost threw it away because it smelled like floor lemon deodorant. Thank God it changed later and became refreshing. • I was surprised by this gem: a rich fragrance with 8 hours of projection and sillage. Note: I have oily skin, and that really helps it last. Ideal for spring-summer and, why not, fall. It’s exquisite and highly recommended, though pricey for me; I’d buy it again. Cheers.

Fresh, musky, and floral. Reminds me a lot of LV’s California Dream, but this one is a bit sharper thanks to citrus notes that are missing in theirs. It’s a good perfume, very good, but it doesn’t last as long on me as I expected. In my opinion, it’s for daytime use, projects class and distinction, and is 100% unisex.

  • It hits the skin with half a dozen sweet mandarins, rub your hands like you’re washing them, and smell: that’s mandarin. With better longevity than most fruits, it outlasts the majority of citrus scents, highly recommended. Spray it on your neck and people will eat you up. 😄😄 I’m a newbie and my nose isn’t trained enough to catch hidden notes (for now), so my perception is brutally mandarin.

  • Fabián30

My favorite scent for summer. It’s fresh and lasts long enough for a citrus fragrance; on clothes it lasted almost all day, on skin about four decent hours before fading to skin scent. I’d say it’s 100% unisex. I hope they don’t discontinue it, although it seems like that’s what’s going to happen. The Acqua version has poor performance compared to the Eau de Parfum.

Summer favorite: fresh and lasts long enough for a citrus. On clothes it sticks all day; on skin it’s decent for about 4 hours before fading to a skin scent. 100% unisex. Hopefully they don’t discontinue it, though it looks like they might. The Acqua version lasts much less than the Eau de Parfum.

  • My favorite freshie from Tom Ford. Delicious tangerine note in the opening with a touch of mint and fruits, very neat. It’s one of those scents that puts you in a good mood; you can sense the quality of the ingredients. I agree that longevity is very good for a citrus floral. The price is very high but worth it; very similar to Sole di Positano but surpassed in longevity. I bought the Divain dupe because I don’t want to finish the original, and 10 out of 10, they’re 90% alike and match in longevity to the Tom Ford.

  • Mandeville

Focused on citrus and freshness. Although the name suggests tangerine, the top notes are lemon and grapefruit, followed by orange blossom. It’s bright, with a sweet and delicious touch of oranges and citrus. What stands out is the quality of the ingredients; it’s as if you were squeezing fresh mandarins and oranges and putting their juice in the bottle. It evokes luminosity and vitality with sunny aromas. Longevity is quite good; although it’s citrusy, it lasts significantly on the skin, about 6 to 8 hours. If you’re looking for something that transports you to a sunny day by the sea, it’s an excellent choice. Its combination of citrus and flowers creates energy and optimism. Excellent option for lovers of fresh and vibrant scents!

  • I heard my boyfriend wearing it one summer night after the beach; everything fresh, with a tiny acidic touch and that orange blossom note. I loved it; I couldn’t stop smelling it all evening. Very subtle, masculine but not overwhelming, simply CLEAN. When he’s not around and I miss it, I just spray the room to feel it close; it suits his perfume perfectly. It’s unisex according to reviews, but I’ve gotten used to smelling it on him and don’t plan to use it myself. It’s very beautiful; the bottle with that sea blue reminds me of summer and the sky, fresh and very clean, like just showered. You’re right if you gift it; expensive as a solo item, but it’s very different; it’s high perfumery.

I liked it… pity that many people perceived it as very aromatic and somewhat sour, as if it ‘smelled like spoiled orange.’ The Tom Ford blues haven’t given me good moments.

I thought it would have a distinct tangerine note because of the name, but it’s a very rich citrus (I do smell tangerine in it). I’d like to buy it because it’s a scent that’s nothing synthetic, its notes are top quality, and in my life I’ve never smelled a citrus this premium.

  • A cologne made into a perfume by Tom Ford. Fresh, elegant, neither sweet nor cloying, nor invasive, and not sour. It has become my favorite. It’s ideal even for a summer night, perfect for going out without feeling heavy. It leaves an exquisite trail as you walk. It’s unisex, ideal for working near others looking for something elegant but discreet. It evokes the freshness of a classic cologne, like those grandfathers wore after bathing. The difference lies in the quality and structure, with the Tom Ford seal. A perfect balance between traditional and modern. The downside: the price is too high; it shouldn’t cost more than $50. Is it worth it? Only if it doesn’t represent a financial strain, because the idea is to enjoy it, not suffer through it. Otherwise, opt for 4711 (similar to Neroli Portofino). It’s not the same, but considering the price difference, this one seems excessively expensive.

The scent of cleanliness. The first thing that surprises is the longevity of its freshness; in a sea of citrus scents that die in half an hour, this one maintains its herbal and green character. I don’t detect tangerine, but the grapefruit and lime work in harmony, giving it a lively opening. Then comes an almost surgical cleanliness: it smells like freshly washed skin with expensive neutral soap. As it dries, it flattens a bit but remains refined. At times, I recall that dry, sharp wood when sharpening a pencil; a curious nuance. Although my favorite from Tom Ford is Costa Azzurra, this is very wearable. If Bal d’Afrique is the ethereal side of ‘clean smell,’ Mandarino di Amalfi is a rougher, fresher, almost clinical cleanliness. The civet note, if present, I don’t detect; perhaps it just serves as an anchor. I give it 7/10: for evoking white sheets dried in the sun with a lemon branch swaying in the breeze.

  • Like many, I thought it would have tangerine, but it doesn’t, and I don’t mind; it’s one of my favorites. It’s the only citrus that doesn’t fade instantly; you feel grapefruit, lime, and basil giving way to shiso, bergamot, and coriander without losing freshness. Mint keeps it clean alongside vetiver and musk. It leans masculine, but that’s exactly what I love.

  • Spectacular opening, fresh and packed with citrus, but it flattens out as it dries down, leaving only the jasmine.

  • Woman in Love

Perfect for hot weather. Precious citrus notes give you an instant boost. Smells like summer on the Mediterranean coast. Longevity and sillage are moderate, but they work great for this type of scent.
