Chanel Coco Eau de Toilette is a spicy oriental fragrance for women. The nose behind this creation is Jacques Polge. The top notes reveal a vibrant combination of Bulgarian rose, coriander, peach, mandarin, and jasmine. The heart of the composition is sustained with cloves, rose, mimosa, orange blossom, and white clover. Finally, the base notes offer a warm and enveloping foundation of sandalwood, amber, opoponax, galbanum, vanilla, tonka bean, and labdanum.

Chanel Coco is a jewel with character—a warm, spiced oriental that reminds me of Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium, though softer. Both are masterpieces of the 80s, but beware: they’re not for every moment, place, or outfit. They demand personality and an elegant style to shine. I can’t imagine wearing this with ripped jeans, a tee, and sneakers; it would be a waste. Perfect for those who appreciate a timeless piece of perfumery.
Coco by Chanel is wonderful and full of personality. It’s a warm, enveloping, spicy oriental that reminds me a lot of Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, though softer. Both are masterpieces from the 80s, but they aren’t for every occasion, setting, or outfit. They demand character and elegant style. I can’t imagine a girl in ripped jeans and flip-flops wearing it; it would be a waste. Highly recommended for those who value a timeless masterpiece.
A blush-pink rose wrapped in spices and hints of civet. But Coco has another side: creamy and sweet, thanks to the mimosa and vanilla. You can’t expect less from Jacques Polge; it’s a spectacular and harmonious combination. It’s as dark and narcotic as Paloma Picasso, born the same year, but Paloma leans into a green, animalistic moss with cilantro, while Coco is a bomb of tempered clove balanced by that rose, peach, and vanilla. It’s too intense, sometimes even irritating, even in the EDT. It’s a luxury reserved for special moments. A spiced oriental from the 80s, with slight differences from the 70s Opium. Two major references that shone in their time.
Sometimes I catch a smell of plaster, something that smells like a wall, not earth or mud. Is it synthetic? I don’t know what it is, but it caught me off guard.
Sometimes I notice a plaster-like scent, something similar to drywall or plaster, not earth or mud. Is it synthetic? I’m not sure what it is, but it really caught me off guard.
An unparalleled, elegant, nocturnal, and long-lasting aroma. It gives you poise and confidence. It’s the perfect accessory for that outfit you want to show off.
This perfume is a product of the 80s trend of dense, complex orientals that shone like stars. Chanel created it at the peak of its prestige; wearing it was synonymous with luxury that was out of reach for many. I prefer the EDT, which is more feminine, sweet, and floral. The EDP is now unisex, but after reformulation, it has lost some power and longevity, just like the EDT. Cinnamon clove sweetened with peach, rose, and mimosa stands out. Jasmine is present, but sandalwood takes the lead: creamy, sweet, and not sharp. It’s a rigid, non-versatile fragrance, but ideal for elegant women (in terms of style and clothing) in autumn and winter, or for galas. It has an incredible memory effect; people recognize you by the scent. A classic from a glorious era, warm and enveloping, sublime for women who want to stand out and be remembered.

My first Chanel purchase and there’s no turning back. I tested dozens of scents and this one crushed the competition. I spent two hours shopping, grabbed a coffee, tracked its evolution, and bought it on the spot without hesitation. I fell in love at first sniff. I wore it to my brother’s party that night, and since then, I associate it with elegance, formality, and sophistication—exactly what Coco Chanel evokes: a serious, mature, rational, and decisive woman. I adore its spicy trail, but it’s not for everything; only for certain occasions and outfits. I don’t want it to be just another perfume; I keep it on my special shelf.
Ugh, what can I say about this perfume masterpiece! When I was about 25, I tried it, of course, it was too much for me then. Now at 36, I feel like a complete WOMAN wearing it on my skin. I don’t think anyone would dislike it, but it does seem strong, for someone with personality who has traveled a bit of life and makes decisions. A scent for bosses, for sure. Extremely spicy, great sillage and power, with excellent longevity. A true Chanel masterpiece!
I love it! Much more than the EDP. I have both, but I always end up reaching for this one even though I own many Chanel bottles. So elegant! Coco EDT and the Panthère EDP… they are my go-to perfumes for very formal parties. It’s special. I can’t quite decipher all the notes, but the blend works perfectly on my skin. It pairs beautifully with Poudre de N19… definitely my favorites from Chanel.
I adore it, much more than the EDP. I have both, but I always end up reaching for this one, even though I own many from the Chanel house. It’s incredibly elegant. Coco EDT and the Panthère EDP are my go-to fetishes for very formal parties. It’s special. I can’t quite decipher all the listed notes, but the combination works perfectly on my skin. It pairs beautifully with Poudre de 19… without a doubt, my favorite Chancels.
I close my eyes and remember a teacher from my childhood; that special, powdery, slightly animal scent that looked so pleasant and elegant on her. But on me, I don’t like it; I feel it’s too stately, perhaps because of that memory. The iris note is very present and a bit overwhelming for me. Now I think it’s synthetic, but it still feels heavy. I’ll keep remembering my teacher with nostalgia, but this perfume isn’t for me.
Hi! In my country, they don’t carry the Coco Chanel EDP; does anyone know if the EDT is similar and worth buying? I tried Coco once and fell in love, but here I only find the EDT. Thanks!
A classic I only use once a week before bed. Classic, elegant… the scent gives me a feeling of relaxation… I can’t define it better. It’s special.

Poetry. It was an encounter with a quiet, dreamy memory. Coco by Chanel is elegant, relaxing, imposing, and full of personality. I agree that it makes a classy statement. I chose the EdT because reviews praised its longevity, but on my skin, it lasts very little, even for an EDT. Since it’s not cheap, its longevity is a serious flaw; I couldn’t detect it after two hours. I’ll try it on cooler days.
Impressively elegant perfume. To my nose, the cinnamon clove bathed in amber stands out. I tried it in summer and found it strong; this jewel is for autumn, it should be a delight. I don’t see it as a daily wear; I’d use it for special occasions: dinners, concerts, moments of elegance. I’m looking for my first Chanel, torn between this and Coco Noir. The latter is fresher and easier to wear; maybe it’ll be harder to find occasions for this Coco. That’s where we are :)))))
Impressively elegant. For my nose, the clove notes soaked in amber dominate. I tried it in summer and found it too strong; this jewel is for autumn, it must be delightful. It’s not for daily wear, but for dinners, concerts, or moments that demand elegance. I’m looking for my first Chanel and I’m torn between this and Coco Noir. The Noir is fresher and easier to wear; maybe this one will take me a while to find the right occasions. That’s where we stand… :))))
The battle between the Eau de Parfum and the Eau de Toilette is personal, but the EdT smells more luminous and sparkling to me, while the EdP has a more baroque touch. On skin, the longevity is almost identical; both last the same amount of time. Both shine at night events or on cool days with an elegant outfit; it’s a fragrance of maximum elegance.
It smells very much like the Eau de Parfum, but I prefer this version; it’s easier to wear. Needless to say, it smells like Coco Chanel, the classic. The important thing is that the performance is identical, lasting about 5-8 hours, which is a lot for a toilet water, with good sillage, and I love the bottle. It’s an excellent option if you don’t want to spend as much on the Chanel Eau de Parfum; they’ve been squeezing customers lately with price hikes.
Coco EDT by Chanel is a timeless classic that never goes out of style (at least not for me). I absolutely love it: it’s elegant, sweet, sexy, and alluring with a distinctly nocturnal vibe. It has PERSONALITY, making it perfect for mature, strong women who want to be the center of attention. I’m obsessed with its performance; it lasts all day, and I still wake up smelling it. Incredible, beastly—these are truly LADY perfumes. The trail is amazing and overwhelming; two sprays are enough to last the whole day. It’s vintage, but not just any vintage; Coco Chanel has something special that draws me to it every time. A successful blind buy; I fell in love the moment I smelled it. Ideal for autumn and winter with nice outfits. It’s unique, unlike anything else I’ve tried, a masterpiece by CHANEL. The best of all. Scent 10/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 10/10, Packaging 10/10, Versatility 5/10, Value 10/10. Would I buy it again? Always.
