Beloved Man by Amouage

Another Amouage I like. Possibly the house that, without creating true works of art in every perfume (though Reflection could be), has in my humble opinion the best range in terms of blending, ingredient quality, longevity, trail, and aroma. All are, at minimum, notable. Beloved is one of the most pleasant perfumes I know, without being a masterpiece. Everyone likes it; well, there will always be someone who doesn’t. As @uhm rightly says, it’s resin (elemi) with citrus (grapefruit), then other notes come in, but the base is that, and it manifests its entire longevity. It’s a very pleasant fragrance, not tiring, doesn’t disappear suddenly, its phases follow in a well-handled sequence with smooth transitions, no abrupt jumps, a whole elegant development continuum. These are typical house characteristics. My last test was on an almost spring-like winter day, sunny with a high of 25°C. It behaved very well, lasting 8-9 hours making itself felt, with a noticeable trail for 3-4 hours, slowly fading to the skin. I don’t think it’s for summer, but for transition seasons (spring or autumn) and perhaps a mild winter. It can be used for any situation: work, meeting with friends, romantic date, or a walk. It’s very versatile, one of the most versatile from the house. As I said, it’s not a masterpiece, it doesn’t make you fall in love, it doesn’t make you smell your wrist every two steps, it doesn’t cause addiction, but it’s very wearable, pleasant, liked by everyone, and very versatile.

Beloved Man by Amouage is simply spectacular. Perhaps the best oriental I’ve tried (soft for an oriental and Amouage, but that makes it more welcoming, versatile, and sensual than any other). There isn’t a huge difference in refinement compared to my favorite, YSL’s Opium pour Homme, but Beloved feels like a distant cousin without sharing notes. It’s a richer, more complex, and luminous Opium, whereas Opium is simpler and darker. In terms of evolution, it’s one of the few complex perfumes where you can distinctly hear the components. Warning: on blotter paper at 3 hours, it smells fresh, but on my skin, if I sweat, that freshness almost disappears completely. It’s for special occasions and cool or temperate climates; heat corrupts its essence. The sillage and longevity are moderate. If Opium was sensual, Beloved is EXTREMELY seductive, with great unisex and even feminine potential. Will everyone like it? This perfume is pure good drug, a journey. It takes you to a colossal party, happiness, and peace, or a romantic night in the Middle East. Dive into illusions and honor perfumery as art.

Amouage Beloved Man is one of the three easiest fragrances from the brand, in my opinion. The opening maintains a fresh/citric part alongside an amber/resinous one, like an archetype of a cologne with deep oriental depth: a very clean, creamy incense, something sweet that evolves into a heavily tanned leather (even soapy) with musky and woody nuances. It develops quite a bit, and I think I’m more of a fan of the first 30 minutes than how it settles ultimately. It carries the Amouage stamp, lasting and projecting as expected, but in my opinion, there are others I’d prefer. On my skin, that citric part that made it perfect for heat and super distinctive drops significantly, leaving behind a purely musky base with patchouli and notes of woods and resins. Rating: 8.5 for the first half-hour, 6 for the dry down (it’s not bad, but it’s painful knowing it doesn’t last as I’d hoped on my skin).

Words can’t describe it.. A MONSTER SCENT, for me the best Amouage. I have Enclave which isn’t bad, I give it a 6 for aroma, but for Beloved I give a 10. I’ve used two bottles of Reflection, a great perfume, but this one seems superior. Yes, they follow a similar line, but now I prefer Beloved. 300 euros brought it to my collection, but it’s worth every penny. It starts with a spectacular opening of rich orange and cardamom, and the dry down is out of this world: sensual, elegant, and masculine. Longevity is another strong point, powerful but not invasive like Enclave; with Beloved, you make an impression, your presence is guaranteed. It lasts 10-12 hours and is very versatile for almost all seasons. In summary: pure luxury. I recommend it totally. Aroma 10/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 9/10, Price 8/10.

Incredible, brutal, and a fragrance beast with a capital B! It’s very wearable, versatile, refined, elegant, and masculine. The opening is top-notch with rich cardamomo and grapefruit, you can feel the incredible quality. It sits beautifully on the skin; it’s an Amouage that makes you walk around with a smile on your face. Lasts about 10 hours on skin and the dry down is fantastic. I loved it, which is why I bought it; it follows the line of Reflection Man, but for me, this one is better, just as other reviewers mention.

The first time I thought I’d bought camel urine in a bottle; then I got used to it and wondered why I felt that way, seriously I searched for where the pee was because I couldn’t believe it. A scent that doesn’t say anything to me; I like the bottle more than the aroma. It has good fixation and moderate projection, but it’s not worth it. A disappointment because I had high hopes; I want to believe it’s a high-quality clone: the scent isn’t complicated or generic, but it doesn’t add anything. Rating 7/10.

This perfume has an intense opening; it reminds me of Creed’s Viking. I perceive it as mentholated and spicy. It has character and makes a presence, but after a few hours, that intensity fades and leaves a softer, almost powdery scent on the skin. Originality 8/10, Projection 7/10, Longevity 6/10, Price 5/10. I wouldn’t buy it again.
