Descripción

Beloved Man by Amouage is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by Alexandra Carlin and Emilie Coppermann. The top notes unfold with elemi, grapefruit, cardamom, orange, and pepper; the heart reveals saffron, lily root, geranium, and jasmine; while the base settles on cedar, leather, vetiver, musk, guaiac wood, and patchouli.

Beloved Man by Amouage is simply spectacular. Perhaps the best oriental I’ve tried (soft for an oriental and Amouage, but that makes it more welcoming, versatile, and sensual than any other). There isn’t a huge difference in refinement compared to my favorite, YSL’s Opium pour Homme, but Beloved feels like a distant cousin without sharing notes. It’s a richer, more complex, and luminous Opium, whereas Opium is simpler and darker. In terms of evolution, it’s one of the few complex perfumes where you can distinctly hear the components. Warning: on blotter paper at 3 hours, it smells fresh, but on my skin, if I sweat, that freshness almost disappears completely. It’s for special occasions and cool or temperate climates; heat corrupts its essence. The sillage and longevity are moderate. If Opium was sensual, Beloved is EXTREMELY seductive, with great unisex and even feminine potential. Will everyone like it? This perfume is pure good drug, a journey. It takes you to a colossal party, happiness, and peace, or a romantic night in the Middle East. Dive into illusions and honor perfumery as art.

  • Tami Franco’s review is spot on. I’d say Beloved Man sits at the same level as Reflection Man: they are Amouage’s most accessible and versatile scents for men. They aren’t overly loud in projection or sillage, and you won’t detect incense because it’s not even in the formula. I see this as a scent for semi-cool or semi-warm weather, not extremes, since the longevity isn’t strong; on my skin, it lasts 7-8 hours. You can detect geranium, grapefruit, elemi, and sandalwood, followed by cardamom in the heart which gives it that sweet, spicy touch; the dry down is the most linear part. At first, it smells metallic and citrusy, but around the 4-hour mark with the cardamom, flowers, and sandalwood, it truly shines. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t buy it; I used it because two 2ml samples came with another purchase. I recommend it to those seeking oriental and very masculine fragrances. Longevity: 7.5/10 Versatility: 9/10 Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 7/10 Quality: 9/10 Sillage: 7/10 Scent: 8/10 TOTAL: 8/10

  • It’s a fragrance that blends the best of several worlds without being common; instead, it feels very current. That deep, sweet wood note mixed with the bitterness of cocoa pod and vanilla reminds me of Dior Homme Intense but softer, similar to L’Instant de Guerlain and Valentino Uomo. It’s a thread connecting the best of modern designer perfumery.

  • Of course, it’s good, but at that price, I need something to fall in love with, and that’s not the case. For a while, the elemi predominates with that dry, spicy, soapy olibanum smell. As the hours pass, a base of mostly cedar with touches of musk, patchouli, and leather takes over… This base tires me out a bit, and I see it as a bit prefabricated; I don’t know if I can explain myself, but I understand, hehe. It’s a mature, correct, very typically masculine perfume but a bit boring for me. It has good performance.

  • Another Amouage I like. Possibly the house that, without creating true masterpieces in every perfume (though Reflection could be one), has the best range in terms of blend, quality, longevity, sillage, and aroma. All are notable. Beloved is one of the most pleasant perfumes I know, without being a masterpiece. Everyone likes it, though there will always be someone who doesn’t. As @uhm says, it’s resin (elemi) with citrus (grapefruit), then other notes come in, but that base remains throughout. It’s very pleasant, not tiring, and doesn’t vanish abruptly; its phases succeed each other with smooth, elegant transitions, no abrupt jumps, everything is a continuum. These are typical characteristics of the house. My last test was on a winter day that was almost spring-like, sunny and 25 degrees. It performed well, lasting 8-9 hours with a perceptible sillage for 3-4 hours before fading on the skin. I don’t think it’s for summer, but rather for transition seasons or mild winters. It’s suitable for any situation: work, friends, a date, or a walk. It’s very versatile, one of the best in the house. It’s not a masterpiece that makes you want to smell your wrist every few minutes or causes addiction, but it’s very wearable, pleasant, liked by everyone, and versatile.

  • Another Amouage I like. Possibly the house that, without creating true works of art in every perfume (though Reflection could be), has in my humble opinion the best range in terms of blending, ingredient quality, longevity, trail, and aroma. All are, at minimum, notable. Beloved is one of the most pleasant perfumes I know, without being a masterpiece. Everyone likes it; well, there will always be someone who doesn’t. As @uhm rightly says, it’s resin (elemi) with citrus (grapefruit), then other notes come in, but the base is that, and it manifests its entire longevity. It’s a very pleasant fragrance, not tiring, doesn’t disappear suddenly, its phases follow in a well-handled sequence with smooth transitions, no abrupt jumps, a whole elegant development continuum. These are typical house characteristics. My last test was on an almost spring-like winter day, sunny with a high of 25°C. It behaved very well, lasting 8-9 hours making itself felt, with a noticeable trail for 3-4 hours, slowly fading to the skin. I don’t think it’s for summer, but for transition seasons (spring or autumn) and perhaps a mild winter. It can be used for any situation: work, meeting with friends, romantic date, or a walk. It’s very versatile, one of the most versatile from the house. As I said, it’s not a masterpiece, it doesn’t make you fall in love, it doesn’t make you smell your wrist every two steps, it doesn’t cause addiction, but it’s very wearable, pleasant, liked by everyone, and very versatile.

The first time I thought I’d bought camel urine in a bottle; then I got used to it and wondered why I felt that way, seriously I searched for where the pee was because I couldn’t believe it. A scent that doesn’t say anything to me; I like the bottle more than the aroma. It has good fixation and moderate projection, but it’s not worth it. A disappointment because I had high hopes; I want to believe it’s a high-quality clone: the scent isn’t complicated or generic, but it doesn’t add anything. Rating 7/10.

  • Amouage Beloved Man is one of the three easiest fragrances from the brand, in my opinion. The opening maintains a fresh/citric part alongside an amber/resinous one, like an archetype of a cologne with deep oriental depth: a very clean, creamy incense, something sweet that evolves into a heavily tanned leather (even soapy) with musky and woody nuances. It develops quite a bit, and I think I’m more of a fan of the first 30 minutes than how it settles ultimately. It carries the Amouage stamp, lasting and projecting as expected, but in my opinion, there are others I’d prefer. On my skin, that citric part that made it perfect for heat and super distinctive drops significantly, leaving behind a purely musky base with patchouli and notes of woods and resins. Rating: 8.5 for the first half-hour, 6 for the dry down (it’s not bad, but it’s painful knowing it doesn’t last as I’d hoped on my skin).

This perfume has an intense opening; it reminds me of Creed’s Viking. I perceive it as mentholated and spicy. It has character and makes a presence, but after a few hours, that intensity fades and leaves a softer, almost powdery scent on the skin. Originality 8/10, Projection 7/10, Longevity 6/10, Price 5/10. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • An Amouage where the quality of the ingredients is unquestionable, but it didn’t prompt me to buy it. It smells clean and aromatic. At the start, it’s citrusy and dries down to maintain a powdery, woody, and floral blend accompanied by musk until it fades.

  • What a scent! I think this Amouage is spectacular; I love that it doesn’t follow the line of Interlude or Epic, which I also own, but maintains the extremely high quality of the house. It’s woody, masculine, soapy, elegant, and very versatile, perfect even for summer if it’s not too hot. You might call me crazy, but I tested Reflection Man on one arm and Beloved on the other, and in the end, I brought this Beloved home: it’s better and superior to Reflection and its hype. I’m not the only one who thinks this. It’s a “hidden gem” of Amouage, one of the most western scents from the house, an exquisite luxury, and I’m happy it’s part of my collection. The performance is magnificent: it’s not an Interlude in terms of projection or sillage, but it’s still a scent that makes you noticed and guarantees your presence. Longevity 9-10 hours. AROMA 9.5/10, PROJECTION 8/10, SILLAGE 8.5/10.

  • Wordless, this is a beast of a fragrance! For me, it’s the best Amouage, surpassing even Enclave (which I’d rate a 6) and Reflection (I went through two bottles and loved them, but this one is superior). Yes, it’s 300 euros and that’s what brought it into my collection, but every cent was worth it. The opening is spectacular with rich orange and cardamomo, and the dry down is on another level: sensual, elegant, and masculine. It completely blows my mind. Lasts 10-12 hours, potent but not as invasive as Enclave; with this, you make an impression, your presence is guaranteed. Very versatile, works for almost all seasons. Total luxury. Scent 10/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 9/10, Price 8/10.

  • Perfume bomb! This Amouage is spectacular. I love that it doesn’t follow the path of Interlude or Epic, which I also own, yet it maintains the brand’s extremely high quality. It’s woody, masculine, soapy, elegant, and very versatile; I see it as perfect even in summer if it’s not too hot. You might call me crazy, but I tried Reflection Man and this Beloved on my arms, and… this one won me over. For me, it’s better and superior to Reflection and its hype. It’s a ‘covered’ Amouage, one of the most Western scents from the house, an exquisite luxury, and I’m thrilled to have it in my collection. The performance is magnificent: it’s not an Interlude in terms of projection or sillage, but you make an impression and your presence is guaranteed. Lasts 9-10 hours. Scent 9.5/10, Projection 8/10, Sillage 8.5/10.

  • Words can’t describe it.. A MONSTER SCENT, for me the best Amouage. I have Enclave which isn’t bad, I give it a 6 for aroma, but for Beloved I give a 10. I’ve used two bottles of Reflection, a great perfume, but this one seems superior. Yes, they follow a similar line, but now I prefer Beloved. 300 euros brought it to my collection, but it’s worth every penny. It starts with a spectacular opening of rich orange and cardamom, and the dry down is out of this world: sensual, elegant, and masculine. Longevity is another strong point, powerful but not invasive like Enclave; with Beloved, you make an impression, your presence is guaranteed. It lasts 10-12 hours and is very versatile for almost all seasons. In summary: pure luxury. I recommend it totally. Aroma 10/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 9/10, Price 8/10.

  • Incredible, brutal, and a fragrance beast with a capital B! It’s very wearable, versatile, refined, elegant, and masculine. The opening is top-notch with rich cardamomo and grapefruit, you can feel the incredible quality. It sits beautifully on the skin; it’s an Amouage that makes you walk around with a smile on your face. Lasts about 10 hours on skin and the dry down is fantastic. I loved it, which is why I bought it; it follows the line of Reflection Man, but for me, this one is better, just as other reviewers mention.

  • Impressive Beloved, I think it’s brutal, a powerhouse scent but very wearable and versatile. It feels very refined, elegant, and masculine. The opening is great with rich cardamom and grapefruit; the quality is undeniable. On the skin, it smells wonderful; it’s an Amouage that makes you walk with a smile. Longevity is very good, about 10 hours, and the dry down is excellent. I loved it, which is why I bought it; it follows the line of Reflection Man, but for me, this one is better. As others indicated, they follow a similar line.
