Descripción
Alexandria III by Xerjoff is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Chris Maurice. The top notes unfold an aromatic opening of lavender, sandalwood, and cinnamon. The heart of the fragrance reveals the delicacy of Bulgarian rose, alongside lily of the valley and cedar. Finally, the base notes settle into a warm and exotic foundation formed by Laotian oud, Thai oud, musk, amber, sandalwood, and vanilla.

Alexandria III is a great perfume where lavender, cinnamon, roses, and woods make an exquisite blend; I’m declaring it my signature scent today, using it to give myself that extra confidence boost I sometimes need. The longevity on skin is eternal, easily 12 hours with just 2 sprays, though the trail is moderate, oriented to be an intimate aroma. I recommend it for men over 35 looking for an intimate, high-quality scent with that extra plus. And the comparison with its twin (Alexandria II) can’t be missed: personally, I prefer A III, as they are very similar, but one is like a beautiful black horse tamed, while the other is that same untamed horse, not everyone can ride it and it sometimes plays you dirty. That’s why I prefer Alexandria III; I feel at ease using it and know I can put on 4 or 5 sprays without invading or bothering anyone.
Chris Maurice’s talent is a gift to the world, thanks Chris! The sandalwood (very rare to perceive) and cinnamon in the opening create an intoxicating and enveloping combination. It’s a sophisticated juice that demonstrates Carbonnel’s skill in creating unique olfactory experiences. A true treasure for perfume lovers, thanks again. I loved it!
This Xerjoff fragrance fits into that group of seductive and sophisticated unisex perfumes. The opening is splendid and invigorating, lasting about half an hour; although not listed, it smells of saffron. Then comes the Bulgarian rose, very stately and strong, mixed with a powdery sensation that lingers until the end. The woody notes of the oud are noticeable a bit from the start but in the background, until they stand out when the base notes arrive. The oud is of good quality and expresses itself with refinement, without being annoying. Personally, I would have liked more punch from the oud, but it doesn’t matter. As with other Xerjoff scents, there is oud here, but it’s not the star. Don’t expect an mind-blowing oud that dominates, but rather a soft woody-oud perfume with rose and powdery touches, very wearable in cool or fresh weather (not for summer). Performance (Fall 2023): with 4 sprays on hard skin, it lasts 8 to 10 hours. It’s not a ‘beast mode’; it’s an elegant scent that attracts glances, ideal for formal situations or dates with a certain romantic touch. It projects well to almost a meter in the opening and part of the heart (about 1.5 hours). The next 2.5 hours it projects to about 50cm, and the rest stays close to the skin (15cm). It’s after the first half that the scent kicks in, not continuously. It offers a pleasant and quality experience, using the blend of oud and rose to be top-tier. I always recommend testing any niche fragrance on skin, as this smells different on paper than on skin.
This Xerjoff fragrance fits that seductive, sophisticated unisex profile perfectly. The opening is splendid and invigorating, lasting over half an hour; although not explicitly listed, the saffran is noticeable. Then comes the Bulgarian rose, very stately and powerful, alongside a powdery sensation that lingers until the end. The Alexandria III oud woods are felt at the start but in the background, stepping up when the base notes arrive. They are high-quality oud, expressive yet refined, nothing intrusive. I would have liked more ‘punch’ from the oud, but there’s nothing to be done. Like other Xerjoffs, here the oud isn’t the absolute protagonist. Don’t look for a mind-blowing oud that dominates, but rather a soft, woody oud-rose scent with a powdery touch, very wearable in cool or fresh weather (not for summer). Performance (Fall 2023): with 4 sprays on hard skin, 8 to 10 hours. It’s not a ‘beast mode’; it’s elegant, draws eyes, and is perfect for formal situations or classy romantic dates. Projects well to nearly a meter in the opening and heart (about 1.5 hours), then to 50cm for 2.5 hours, and finally stays close to the skin (15cm). It’s after the first half that the scent really kicks in, not continuously. It’s a pleasant, high-quality experience that uses oud and rose to create something first-class. I always recommend testing on skin, as it differs quite a bit from paper.
One of the brand’s best.
The III takes the base of the II but with a different, stronger oud, paired with a lead rose. It opens with Laotian and Thai oud of high quality, featuring an animalic and dark touch. The rose shines at the start with lavender, cinnamon, and sandalwood. The dry down is strong and aggressive at first, but soon releases a celestial aroma. As it settles, the oud becomes smoky and woody, letting lavender, musk, amber, and vanilla flood your nose with something sweet, dark, and elegant. It feels sweeter than the II, with a chocolate-like accord thanks to the Thai oud and vanilla. There’s a contrast between the cleanliness of the lavender and the darkness of the oud. In the end, it stays powdery, soapy, dark, woody, and creamy due to the sandalwood. Similar to the II but sweeter, darker, and more floral. It’s elegant, opulent, and unique. Longevity is 10 to 14 hours, with intense projection for the first two hours.
Alexandria III by Xerjoff revisits the base of the II but with a different, more prominent oud, adding a rose that leads the opening. It opens with high-quality Laos and Thai oud, featuring an animalic and dark touch. The rose stands out at the start alongside lavender, cinnamon, and sandalwood. Like its predecessor, the opening is strong and aggressive, but over time it reveals a celestial scent. As it dries, the oud becomes more smoky and woody while the lavender and a base of musk, amber, and vanilla flood your nose with something sweet, dark, and elegant. It feels sweeter than the II, with a chocolate-like accord from the Thai oud and vanilla. It’s a contrast between the cleanliness of the lavender and the darkness of the oud. In the dry down, it leaves a powdery, soapy, dark, woody, and creamy trail thanks to the sandalwood. In short, it’s very similar to the previous version but sweeter, darker, and more floral. It’s an elegant, opulent, and unique aroma you won’t find in any other perfume, except for the other Alexandrias. Longevity is 10 to 14 hours, with intense projection for the first two hours before fading slightly.
Smells incredible. Reminds me of Dior Homme Intense, not because they’re similar, but because they head in the same direction: an ultra-elegant, powdery scent. I tested it with a sample and loved it so much that I’m definitely buying the full bottle.
It smells incredible; it reminds me of Dior Homme Intense not because of the exact scent, but because they follow the same path: elegant and powdery. I tested it with a sample and got so hooked that I’m already going to buy it.
A feminine, captivating, elegant, and exclusive fragrance. The floral notes linger on the skin while the oud, softer than in the II, releases bursts every hour. Pure elegance in a 50ml bottle. Update: this is beast mode. I gifted it to my wife, and wherever she goes, it leaves an unforgettable mark. I’m completely smitten. A masterpiece of luxury.
The definitive Alexandria: the most complete and nuanced. Brutal longevity, medium-high projection, and a trail that smells like another planet. It screams luxury everywhere; whoever wears it stands out in any setting. Incredible. For me, the best female Alexandria, but beware: this is unisex. The 50ml size demands personality to pull off.
