  • Starts with a strong hit of gasoline and workshop vibes, hard to define but addictive. Then it softens, letting the leather, myrrh, and flowers breathe. As it dries, tonka bean and maybe opium emerge, though hours later. Sometimes it reminds me of LDDM, but isn’t the same; it’s like both share the same Tauer DNA. Longevity is top-notch, though projection is moderate but noticeable. In my opinion, it’s totally masculine and perfect for cold weather. I recommend it to anyone seeking unique and distinct scents.

  • Powerful opening, smells like gasoline and workshop, hard to define but addictive. Then it softens and the leather with myrrh and flowers come to the forefront. As it dries, tonka bean and perhaps opium become more noticeable, though late in the game. Sometimes it reminds me of LDDM, but isn’t the same; it’s like both share the same Tauer DNA. Longevity is top-notch, though projection is moderate but noticeable. In my opinion, it’s totally masculine and perfect for cold weather. Recommended for those seeking unique and distinct scents.

  • It works well for me. I agree with oscarsh86 on almost everything. It’s very similar to LDDM, but here the leather takes the lead instead of cumin. The opening is brutal, but it calms down and sweetens over time. The first thing I notice is the leather and opium, followed by tonka bean and myrrh. Ideal for autumn and winter, perfect for going out at night. Longevity is long and the trail is moderate.

  • I like it. I agree with almost everything oscarsh86 said. It’s very similar to LDDM but leans more into leather than cumin. The opening is very strong but calms down and sweetens as time passes. What I notice most is the leather and labdanum at first, followed by tonka bean and myrrh. Perfect for autumn and winter, and for night wear. Long-lasting longevity. Moderate sillage.

  • Tauer brings us a leather scent with an original twist, featuring rough and animalic nuances that may not appeal to everyone. The opening is aromatic due to clary sage and carrot seeds, with a warm, balsamic, and sweet backdrop of amber, tonka, and myrrh. The smoky leather carries the weight, paired with an animalic floral touch from jasmine and the noticeable, resinous opium, creating a dry, spicy, and soft sensation that evolves slowly toward a sweeter, amberier dry-down, more conventional than that strange start. It reminds me of walking into a tannery factory with heat. The composition and quality are good, but personally, I would have preferred a different dry-down. Rating: 7.5

  • Tauer presents here a leather fragrance with a truly original twist; the counterpoint comes from quite rough and animalic nuances. This particular aroma might not appeal to some potential wearers. The opening is very aromatic due to the clary sage and carrot seeds; here you can already feel a warm, sweet balsamic background from the amber, tonka, and myrrh. The bulk of the scent is carried by the leather—a smoky leather enhanced with a touch of animalic florals from the jasmine and the resinous labdanum, which becomes more intense. This whole combo creates a dry, spiced, soft atmosphere that evolves very slowly into a sweeter, amber dry-down, which is also more conventional than the strange opening. It reminds me of the smell you get when entering a tannery where they work on and heat the hides. The composition is good, as are the quality. Personally, I would have preferred a different dry-down. Rating: 7.5.

  • An excellent example of contemporary niche perfumery. It’s not entirely unique since it often reminds me of another scent called Toreros by El Do; the accorded notes and floral touches make it smell very similar to that one. This fragrance is powdery and semi-sweet, and you can perceive all the notes. I only sense two phases: the opening and the dry-down. In the opening, you get leather, geranium, and jasmine; then tonka bean and myrrh kick in. It changes significantly mid-way, becoming softer and sweeter. It leans more towards a men’s scent due to its strong, concentrated notes. I’d probably wear it in various climates, except extreme ones. Maybe for casual, daytime use given its somewhat overwhelming and non-romantic composition—it’s more of an art piece. I recommend not buying blind. Longevity: 8.5/10. Versatility: 7/10. Projection: 7.5/10. Sillage: 8.5/10. Scent: 7.5/10. TOTAL: 8/10.

  • Just say it’s BRUTAL. Stay away if you’re young. This is for tough guys who know what they want; nothing versatile, but a scent that leaves you ecstatic.

  • Smells incredibly intense. It has a very expansive opening that lingers on my skin and in the nose of those around me for hours. It never stops being perceived, and with every movement or change in air, it returns with force. At first, it smells like smoke. Before cooking with spices, I light something to fill the air with aromatic smoke; that’s what Lonestar Memories smells like to me, but taken to the highest level of refinement. It’s crackling, vibrant, and highly stimulating smoke. Luckily, my family loves it so much they stick to me, sniffing me or jumping straight to my neck. Halfway through, it becomes sweeter and more intoxicating without losing complexity, though the projection drops a bit. Some days I wear it in the morning and reapply to last another ten hours, and then the projection is huge. With the right dosage, which everyone finds depending on their skin and the weather, it can be worn all year and at any time, as long as it doesn’t bother others. Be careful in heat, as one spray can be too much. My uncle Ramón used to say decades ago: ‘A man has to smell like sweat, tobacco, and dynamite.’ This is it.

  • Extremely aromatic, with a strongly expansive dry-down that lingers for hours on my skin and on the pituitaries of anyone moving around me. I never stop noticing it; with every movement or shift in the air, its powerful presence returns. At first, it smells like smoke. Before cooking with spices, I like to toss a few into the fire to fill the air with aromatic smoke: Lonestar Memories smells exactly like that, but elevated to the limits of refinement and quality. Sparkling, vibrant, highly stimulating. Fortunately, my closest loved ones love it so much they stay near me, sniffing around or diving straight for my neck. By the halfway point of its performance, it becomes sweeter and more intoxicating without losing a shred of its interesting complexity, though the projection gradually diminishes. Some days when I wear it in the morning, I reapply it to the same spots to go out ten hours later, and in those cases, the projection is much stronger. I believe with the right dosage—which everyone must find based on their skin and environmental conditions—it can be worn all year round at any time of day, as long as it doesn’t bother anyone nearby. Just be cautious on very hot days when a single spray might be too much. My uncle Ramón used to say decades ago: ‘A man should smell of sweat, tobacco, and dynamite.’ This is it.

  • It is truly a masterpiece of a fragrance, the most delicious, masculine, distinctive, purposeful, elegant, and addictive thing I know, a work of art by Andy Tauer. Masterful handling and interpretation of leather, unlike any other fragrance, with exceptional performance. It fights for the number 1 spot in my favorites among my collection of 190 fragrances, alongside Air du Desert, also by master Andy Tauer. That said, it’s not for everyone.

  • I don’t feel the challenge many claim (if you’re used to Light & Blue, it makes sense). It’s alpha male with an aromatic touch that makes it quite wearable, worthy of wearing with a leather jacket. Another good fragrance from artist AT.

  • I don’t smell the challenging vibe many say (I mean, if you’re used to Light & Blue, it makes sense), but it definitely smells like alpha male with an aromatic touch that makes it quite wearable, worthy of being worn with a leather jacket. Another great fragrance by artist AT.

  • Although I usually don’t start reviews by discussing the gender segment, and besides, I believe there are no defined scents for men or women, I have to say this is truly one of the most masculine perfumes I know. It’s smoky with leather notes given primarily by labdanum, without resorting to common accords like Suederal or Quinoleins. It has an amber base that undoubtedly recalls its previous creation, Moroccan Air du Desert, but less loaded with vanillins, therefore less sweet and more rough. In the opening, aromatic touches of geranium and sage help lift the formula and add a bit of ‘freshness’ to a dense perfume. To enjoy it, you must be a friend of smoky scents, that’s undeniable. However, it’s appreciated that this note comes from birch tar and what I believe is a Guaiac wood, even if not listed, rather than harsh aroma-chemicals that result in very piercing notes in other perfumes. If you know Andy Tauer’s work, you’ll see this drinks heavily from his Air du Desert. We swap the spicy notes of this one for the woody accords of Lonestar Memories. In the base, the amber is less resinous and sweet, incorporates the smoky character, but remains perfectly recognizable. Finally, we replace the orange and petit grain citrus with the aromatic finish of geranium and sage. The same backbone but for a very different perfume. A great fragrance undoubtedly, with a good amount of natural components, which is appreciated and well-rounded. Very masculine in my opinion and for lovers of smoky scents. If you enjoy this type of perfume, this is one to know. Cheers.

  • A fantastic creation by Tauer, addictive and drinking straight from the DNA of Air du Desert. That smoky note is the house signature, but here comes a brilliant twist: it starts spicy and very enveloping, leaving a mesmerizing trail. It then shifts to a woody, rough, and very masculine side, before drying down into an apothecary-smoked resin. Tauer’s amber touch is never missing. I absolutely loved it; it reaffirms that Tauer is a perfumer unlike any other. It transports me to the interior of an old, dimly lit building with bare, cold walls and a very distinct scent in the air… I love it. Masculine, perfect for cold weather, and not very versatile. Long-lasting, for sure, I detect it for 8 hours. First wear at home, rewarding and enjoyed to the fullest. Brilliant.
