  1. It’s not a complicated scent, but rather a tasty one made to please, albeit differently. Basically, it smells like a sweet, dusty, and creamy cocoa. To me, it feels a bit excessively sweet, similar to Bianco Latte. I love the cocoa note, but here it’s treated to a much sweeter point—very chocolatey yet without any bitterness. If you enjoy sweet gourmands and the cocoa note, give it a try. I like it quite a bit, but for now, I doubt it will make it into my collection.

  2. It’s not a complicated perfume, rather pleasant and meant to please, but different. Basically, it smells like a sweet, powdery, creamy cocoa. It feels a bit too sweet to me, I don’t know why, but it takes me to a sweetness like Bianco Latte. I really like the cocoa note, but here it’s treated towards a sweeter, more chocolatey point—a very sugary chocolate, not bitter. If you like very sweet gourmands and the cocoa note, take a look. I like it quite a bit, but it feels too sweet; I’ll try it more to see if my opinion changes, but for now, I doubt it will make it into my collection.

Heraud is a delicious trap. Based on the notes (dates, vanilla, cocoa), you’d expect something creamy and typical, but it delivers an immediate twist. I bought it blind and was shocked: the dry, earthy date is brutal at first. Then vanilla, cocoa, and dry woods with a powdery texture enter—deep, slightly smoky. It doesn’t seek to please everyone; it’s dark, elegant, and radically distinct. The Ivory Coast cocoa, double-distilled as Andy Tauer describes, is overdosed and noticeable. It’s round, enveloping, and of impressive quality. Narratively simple, yet with complex nuances. It’s a gourmand with character, not sweet and easy. In performance, it’s one of the most potent I’ve tried: lasts all day effortlessly, clothes absorb it like ink. It doesn’t flatten with heat; it’s stable and reliable. There’s no comparison. Maybe the vanilla vaguely recalls Dior Bois de Tahiti from afar, but Heraud is in a different league. For high-quality niche, it’s an option to consider. Ideal for collectors seeking soul and presence. The bottle follows the house’s line with a gorgeous sticker that feels better in hand than in photos. Exclusivity suits it well: if you pay, pay for this. It’s already my favorite. I’ve spent years looking for something to surpass Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather, and Heraud has done it. Hard to classify, simply it is Heraud.

It’s an extremely sweet perfume to my taste. Too much chocolate, cocoa butter, and a powdery note. In my opinion, difficult to wear. For that case, there are better chocolatey perfumes, like Iris Cartagena.

Heraud deceives. With notes like dates, vanilla, and cocoa, you imagine something soft and typical, but the reality shakes you from the very first second. I bought it blind and it was a shock: the dry, earthy date is unexpectedly potent. Then come the vanilla, cocoa, and dry woods, with a powdery and smoky texture. It doesn’t aim to please everyone: it’s dark, elegant, and radical. The twice-distilled cocoa from Ivory Coast is overdosed and noticeable. It’s round, enveloping, and of impressive quality. A gourmand with character, not the typical easy-sweet kind. It’s one of the most powerful I’ve tried: it lasts all day, clothes absorb it, and it’s stable. There’s no direct comparison; perhaps the vanilla vaguely reminds you of Dior Bois Talisman from afar, but Heraud is in another category. Ideal for collectors seeking soul and presence. The bottle follows the house’s line with a lovely sticker. If you’re going to pay, make it for something like this. It has become my favorite, even surpassing Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather. It’s hard to classify; it’s simply Heraud.

It’s a Tauer gourmand, an explosion of vanilla and cocoa. Although I’m not a fan of gourmands, this one is quite good and doesn’t go too sweet, leaning more towards a dark or earthy cocoa. I don’t detect the woody notes, but they improve as it dries down: the cocoa and powdery/dry aspects increase. Maybe still a bit sweet for my taste, but very good.

It’s extremely sweet for my taste. Too much chocolate, cocoa butter, and a powdery note. In my opinion, it’s hard to wear. For that matter, there are better chocolatey perfumes, like Iris Cartagena.

What a strange thing. I don’t know what it smells like, nor if I like it. To me, it smells like cocoa butter, period. From start to finish. I’m sure others detect other notes, but my nose doesn’t. Maybe a hint of vanilla, especially as it dries. It’s such an unusual scent that it leaves me knocked out and impressed. It’s well worth smelling, then the decision to buy… well, no, because it’s very expensive and I don’t know if I can see myself wearing this around the world. In summary: unisex, I suppose cocoa has no gender. No versatility, I don’t know when to use it, I think that’s its biggest flaw. Scent: 8, I’ve changed the number about 17 times, but I like it, I can’t give it less. Longevity: 8. Sillage: 7. Price: 225 euros/50ml.

What a strange thing. I don’t know what to feel or if I like it. To me, it smells only of cocoa butter, nothing else, from start to finish. I’m sure others detect other notes, but my nose doesn’t. Maybe a bit of vanilla when it dries down, perhaps. It’s such an unusual scent that it leaves me stunned and impressed. It’s well worth smelling, though buying it is another story: it’s very expensive, and I’m not sure I can see myself wearing it around the world. Unisex, I suppose, since cocoa has no gender. No versatility at all; I don’t know when I’d wear it, which I think is its biggest flaw. Scent: 8, I’ve changed the number about 17 times. I like it, I can’t give it less. Longevity: 8, sillage: 7. Price: 225 Euros/50ml.

I recommend this perfume. While the price might suggest more mainstream options, this is unlike any other sweet or gourmand scent. You can tell the perfumer’s pursuit of exclusivity, found here in this double-distilled cocoa from Ivory Coast. On my skin, it lasts 4 to 5 hours with strong projection for the first two. It’s an excellent olfactory experience for enthusiasts. Those who view perfume as art will find a brilliant interpretation here.

  11. It’s not a cloying gourmand, but an amber floral base with a layer of cocoa; the dates are almost imperceptible to my nose. Projection on skin is moderate, but the longevity is eternal. The opening balances the cocoa well with floral notes, which remind me of Golestan without the citrus part, and over time the cocoa yields to a more floral and balsamic scent (with the signature incense and resins of Tauer). Compared to his other perfumes, the price is high, but justified by the rarity of the cocoa and the quality. It’s completely unisex, versatile, and ideal for cool climates or night outs.

  12. This perfume isn’t a cloying gourmand, but rather an ambered floral base with a layer of cocoa. The dates are nearly imperceptible to me. Projection on skin is moderate, but the longevity is eternal. The opening balances the cocoa well with floral notes reminiscent of Golestan, minus the citrus, and over time the cocoa fades into something more floral and balsamic (with the frankincense and resins that are Tauer’s signature). Compared to his other scents, the price is high, but it’s justified by the rarity of the cocoa and the quality. Completely unisex, I consider it versatile and ideal for cool weather or night outs.

  13. Powdery sweet cocoa with the appearance of freshly carved wood. As it dries, the floral oriental emerges, resulting in a true gem.
