  1. Carcanuelo

I wonder how many critics would guess the name without knowing it. I know exactly what they’re hinting at, but I’ll keep quiet out of respect. Who hasn’t inhaled Megamare’s high seas or Tauer’s desert? Passion for what you love isn’t exclusive. L’Air du Desert isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s technically interesting. The heart feels like a cut-and-paste job with less volatility and zero creativity. And if that weren’t enough, the experimenter (not the master) Tauer brings us something even harder to wear. Next, L’Air du Desert noir? That will blow your mind—literally. With so much spice, amber, and weight, a migraine is guaranteed. Like the mids, ask your surroundings about allergies or headaches before spraying to avoid ruining their night. In my opinion, some perfumes should be sold in bottles, others in test tubes. Habit Rouge by Guerlain, some Dior, or Penhaligon’s come to mind; they seem like different worlds. Of course, we’re always influenced by reviewers who make twenty sniffles and dedicate 80% of the video to longevity, which also applies to the Rabbit Cleaner review. Bffffffff, a brown beast!!!!

  2. I resisted buying it for several weeks. I finally gave in, and the bottle arrived yesterday. Physically, it’s a beauty—the classic Tauer pentagon with a new label that gives it presence over the others. In scent, it’s a triumphant oriental that adds to the desert collection. Very Arab and made with great ingredients. I thought it might be redundant with my other deserts, but it’s shaping up to stand out. The ingredients seem the same, but here everything leans harder into amber and spices, plus that Elixir concentration makes it richer and more present. A hit!! Edit: It has incredible potency; of the desert collection, it’s the most powerful and long-lasting.

  3. Perfu_Manu

Greener and leatherier than the original, as if L’Air du Desert married Lonestar. The citrus notes give it an astringent nocturnal freshness, though it dries down to become more ambered and dark, just as its name promised. Brutal performance, almost rivaling Coeur, with impeccable skin longevity. A very good purchase.

The desert, but this time wild. I bought the NOIR blind and have no regrets: thanks to the classic, I discovered Tauer and now I’m a fan of Heraud. Having Andy close the 20th-anniversary cycle with this version had me excited. On the trail, it’s the original but darker and more animalic; pressing your nose to the skin reveals a dry, woody, ‘dirty’ ambergris that fits perfectly with the spices. Later, the animalic side fades and the desert air returns. It’s denser, earthier, and less powdery than the classic, ideal for night. Intense projection for about 7 hours and lasts all day on clothes. I see it as an olfactory experience, not a conventional perfume: use it in minimal doses for special events. Worth every euro, although the 02 remains unbeatable in price. If the original is the night of Morocco, the NOIR is the wild version where you have to survive.
