Elixir by Shakira

I love it! Unlike others, it doesn’t smell like a supermarket perfume. It’s not a massive hit, but I’m obsessed. It’s super sweet; I can definitely detect the peach, and it has something distinct from common vanillas. Lasting power on skin is good, but on clothes, it’s on another level. It feels sensual, attractive, and very feminine. Two small cons: when I gifted it to my mom, on her it was sweet but more pleasant, not as sugary as on me (I love gourmand scents, but on my skin, it’s too much). Also, years later I bought it for myself, and it wasn’t the same; the one I gave my mom was better, feeling exquisite. On my skin, I also feel it’s boozy. Rich, I love it, but in summer it was too much and I had to stash it until fall-winter. In short, I recommend it. Moderate price in Argentina and for that price, it lasts quite a while. Use it fresh or in spring-summer at night with moderate sprays so you don’t get cloyed. With that, it’s enjoyable.

Honestly, I expected more from the ‘Elixir’ line and Shakira in general; they’re not bad, but they’re basic. I wanted something oriental different from what I usually wear. On my skin, it initially smelled like pure alcohol and took time to develop (with Wild Elixir it’s worse, lots of alcohol and the notes arrive late). I tested it on a relative with darker skin, and there it was a completely different scent, a pleasant oriental aroma. I realize that sometimes cheap fragrances depend heavily on pH to react. In the end, there are no bad perfumes; what one person likes, another might not connect with, and vice versa.

In my case, I don’t like basic scents on women; this one is excessively sweet. It doesn’t evolve over time, it’s just very basic. Shakira, why do you lend your image to such bad fragrances??

This Shakira perfume has a serious flaw: the scent doesn’t last. I’m giving it a 4 out of 10, and that’s being generous.

I love it! Despite being budget-friendly, it’s not a bad product and offers unbeatable value for money. It has powerful projection and lasts a long time on the skin. The scent is very warm and sweet, reminding me of brown sugar, which I adore. Honestly, there are many famous perfumes that are much worse than this one.

I bought it because the sales associate was the only one left, I didn’t smell it, and I must say I regret it. It’s a generic scent, I didn’t like it at all, I can’t stand it. Honestly, I don’t like this singer’s perfumes; I’ve tried others and would never buy another one of hers again.

This perfume feels very generic. The notes aren’t well-defined, and it reminds me a lot of low-quality mass-market scents. I really didn’t like it. The longevity is decent, but overall, it just didn’t work for me.

Out of all the Elixir de Shakira options, this is the one I like the least… but it’s not a failure. Amber and brown sugar dominate, though you can detect musk and even a ghost of vanilla. It’s the best-seller because it softens and becomes rich after a few hours. It has great sillage and longevity, and the bottle is lovely; it lives up to its name, looking like an elixir or a potion. I’d rate it 7.5/10.

It’s terrible. I heard about it in the supermarket as a budget option, but I didn’t want to be rude and refuse to try it. It’s a sweet, static scent with no personality, screaming low quality and mass market appeal; it smells more like body lotion. I can’t find anything good or standout about it, nothing special.

I think it’s a very common scent, though very feminine. I only detect freesia, amber, and sugar. I usually don’t like sweet perfumes, but this one actually pleased me.

Like all of Shakira’s perfumes: an overly sweet bomb that’s nothing original or different. Just a plain sweet scent.

I tried it today and honestly, I didn’t like it at all. It overwhelms me, smells artificial, too strong, and cheap.

I have it and I agree with Mariana: it smells beastly, saturates everything. I don’t detect musk, freesia, or peach; just a cloying, overpowering amber that doesn’t convince me.

I loved it! Out of several I tried, it was the only one that lasted almost the entire day on my skin. Without a second thought, I bought it.

My sister gifted this to me for her birthday, and I smelled it today: it’s a pure sweetness bomb, as the other said. The first thing that caught my attention was the bottle, a hit. Upon smelling it, it smells like a fruit cocktail, undefined, even though it only lists peach. I wouldn’t recommend it for enclosed spaces or heat. It brought me several déjà vus, but I don’t know much about women’s perfumes, so for me, it’s nothing original.
