Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir by Carolina Herrera

It’s pure earth, incredibly rich but it gets repetitive. Projects well and lasts about 4 hours on skin; on clothes it’s a whole other world, sticking around until you wash them. I left a shirt with this scent for three days and it was still there, like I’d just put it on.

Nothing like the Electric version. This is an earthy, dense, and sharp vanilla scent. It gave me a headache when I first tried it. Zero use in heat or humidity, better suited for cool days. Try before you buy, it’s a rare fragrance.

Good fragrance, the best in the Bad Boy line but also the riskiest. After Le Parfum, it’s not a common scent and stands out for both night and everyday wear.

Horrible opening, haha. The blue plum and truffle are way above, but they feel like separate notes. Once it dries down, it resembles the original Cobalt, just with the warm notes more prominent. Not a good experience for me; the notes don’t connect well.

Blue fragrance, a cousin of YSL ‘Why?’ EDP. Better in the drydown than the opening. Accepting the generic nature of the proposal (given the current state of commercial perfumery), it could be a good option if you find it on sale.

A delightful scent that doesn’t project too much in public, ideal for moderate temperatures up to 90°F. It’s earthy and linear, featuring truffle, pepper, and a sweet vanilla that gives it a great touch. The projection is good, more than moderate, and it lasts between 6 to 8 hours.

The scent isn’t new, but it is distinctive. The truffle gives it a character that sets it apart from current sweet perfumes. However, in my case, it projects nothing and leaves no trail. I wanted it for parties, and it doesn’t work. It smells like a cold day or night, but even though it’s meant for partying, it doesn’t shine at a party because it’s too soft.

On me, it lasted about 8 hours with regular projection. Compared to the Parfum, it seemed less attractive and unique, though it’s not bad. Don’t leave my opinion and try it for yourselves.

If you’re looking for performance like Elixir de Le Male or Sauvage, this isn’t for you; the name doesn’t fit. It’s great for hanging out with friends or as a signature scent in non-heat waves. It doesn’t offend, and compliments come in. 7.5/10.

I wore it to test out that 3000 peso price tag. The opening was AMAZING, but after 17 minutes and 23 seconds, it started smelling GENERIC, identical to Antonio Banderas’ Power of Seduction Extreme for 450 pesos… Comparing perfumes by their opening is why so many people end up hating their fragrances.

Almost identical to Invictus Victory Elixir but with less power. I just tested it and they smell the same; although it changes a bit when drying with that touch of pepper from Bad Boy, it still feels very similar. Disappointing launch, just another one following the same path. Only buy if you’ve never owned Invictus or JPG type perfumes, but even then I don’t recommend it; Victory Elixir is miles better.

I picked this up at Druni and it caught my eye. At first, it smells like Bad Boy Extreme, but that’s just an illusion; shortly after, it opens with sweet pineapple, reminiscent of Qaed al Fursan, yet spicier and sweeter. The vanilla isn’t cloying. Over time, it becomes fresher, just as they claim it’s more refreshing than Le Parfum. I think the pineapple comes from a blend of labdanum and sage mixed with the soul of Cobalt, which could be truffle or even camouflaged patchouli. I also detect undeclared notes, like plum, similar to the Elixir and fruity EDPs. It lasts over 9 hours. On Fragrantica, it’s compared to 1 Million Lucky; both are sweet and fruity, but to me, they don’t smell the same. In Lucky, you notice hazelnut and honey, giving it a loud sweetness, whereas here there’s more fruit and no cloying honey. In short, it’s versatile and a great new release.
