Another year, another birthday for my sister, and a new fragrance: Divine Le Parfum. I gifted it because she’s obsessed with JPG bottles and loves the ad. It doesn’t feel young to me; it feels elegant and original (much more so than the EDP). It’s more intense but with distinct nuances: white flowers, a solar note with sea salt, and a gorgeous amber base. Its longevity and projection are better; a lady would feel happy on a terrace sipping coffee. Super versatile, gorgeous bottle as always. I already gifted it and it was a total hit.

I was sure about it and told my girlfriend when she didn’t like the first Divine: “Relax, you love the bottle, but the Le Parfum, Elixir, and Eau de Louche versions will arrive soon; I’m sure you’ll fall for them more.” What a relief for those who couldn’t stand the first Gaultier. I’ll update this review with my partner’s real opinion as soon as we get good decants to try it out.

  • I share what one of the comments said: it smells exactly like the EDP version, but this one is more intense.

First time I smelled it: the opening is identical to the classic Divine, but as it dries down, it becomes more amber. It’s still a bit conflicting on skin. It’s slightly kinder than the classic, but that salty vegetal note prevents me from tolerating it until it dries. I’ll keep trying, but for now, it’s a NO. A month later, even though it didn’t work for me at first, it wouldn’t leave my mind. I tested it several times and decided to buy it to give it a proper try. Now I say I’ve learned to love it. I wore it for several days until I understood it, and I’m in love with what it generates in me and in others. The dry down is marvelous; it transports me to the sea. I can’t wait to wear it on summer nights after being at the beach.

  • ☹️ It smells exactly like the first Divine. This perfume still doesn’t agree with me. I don’t smell the frangipani.

First impression smelling it once: the opening is the same as the classic Divine, but the dry down is more amber. It’s still conflicting on skin. This one is a bit friendlier than the classic, but it has a salty vegetal note I can’t stand until it dries. I’ll keep trying, but for now, it’s still a NO. A month has passed since the first time, and even though it didn’t work on my skin, I couldn’t get it out of my head. I tested it several times and finally decided to buy it to give it a proper try. Now I affirm that I’ve learned to love it. I used it for several days until I understood it, and I’m in love with what it generates in me and in others. The dry down is marvelous, it transports me to the sea. I can’t wait to use it on summer nights after spending the whole day at the beach.

  • It’s divine. Strong amber with lots of white and yellow florals. It’s very dual: I see it as both a night and a solar scent. Elegant but fun. What I perceive (which isn’t listed) is a peach scent. For me, it’s peach, jasmine, frangipani, and ylang-ylang… I see it as original but not as extravagant as the normal one. I like this one where the notes agree with me more. It reminds me of the Sunflower by Elisabeth Arden but a Deluxe version, sophisticated and expensive for going out.

  • This is the flashiest and strongest I’ve ever felt on my skin. The opening isn’t bad, but as it dries on skin, you notice a pineapple (even though it’s not listed, I’m sure it has it). It lasts a ridiculous amount of time; they applied it to me in the afternoon at a counter, and the next day, after washing my hands several times, that strong, very acidic note was still there, which I didn’t like at all. I think it might work well for a woman with a strong personality and a taste for tropical fried foods, but for me, it’s a resounding no.

  • Another year, my sister’s birthday, and another year with a new fragrance, Divine Le Parfum, which I hope she likes. I went with it because she loves JPG bottles and likes the spot. It doesn’t seem youthful to me; I find it elegant and original (much more than the EDP). It’s more intense but different in nuances: white flowers mixed with a solar note and sea salt, with an amber base. Its longevity and projection are better; without a doubt, a lady would feel happy on a terrace having coffee. Super versatile. The bottle is gorgeous, as is tradition. I already gave it as a gift and it was a hit yesterday.

  • Mizuki_San19

It’s floral, sweet, creamy, and aquatic all at once; contrasting accords that work brilliantly together. It lasts me over 9 hours on skin; undoubtedly the best of 2024.

It’s floral, sweet, creamy, and aquatic all at once; contrasting notes that work perfectly together. It lasts me more than 9 hours on skin; without a doubt, the best of 2024.

  • I received a sample with the same brand I bought; I already had the classic Divine and thought I’d like it… wow, what a delight by God! I ordered it immediately, it has to be in my collection. You can really tell the solar and amber notes. Let’s talk about those 8 hours of longevity… what a beauty! It’s beautiful from the bottle to the scent. Would I buy it again? Of course, I don’t think I’ll be without it. 😍

  • I loved it so much that on my first day at the perfumerie, I bought the 100ml bottle. It’s been two days and the scent is tropical and creamy. You can really smell the frangipani with amber and salt, an exquisite mix. I also detect a juicy, edible tropical fruit, but it smells like a great perfume. The performance is adequate: lasts about 8 hours on skin and the sillage is noticeable for the first two hours. I liked it.

  • ConiEtcheverry

I tested it on blotter and thought: what is this miracle? I noticed an elegant, solar, amber opening that I liked, so I tried it on skin… total disaster! I don’t know what happened, but the chemistry with my skin made it rancid. I tried the classic Divine and the same thing happened; both smell like wet, old flowers, which I absolutely hate. I’m not a fan of JPG because I find them too sweet and overpowering; the sweetness level is suffocating. If you have one, don’t buy the other, it’s the same scent, just stronger. Longevity: excellent, lasts even after showering. Sillage: potent, you can’t miss it. Blind buy: definitely not, test it on skin. Occasion: I see it as a night scent, not for daily wear.

  • I loved it so much that on my first day at the perfumery, I bought the 100ml bottle. Two days in, and the scent is tropical and creamy. The frangipani with amber and salt is very noticeable, an exquisite blend. I sense a juicy, edible fruit, even though it’s not declared; it just smells like a great perfume. The performance is spot on: lasts about 8 hours on skin and the trail is noticeable for the first two hours. I liked it.

  • I loved it; it’s quite similar to the first Divine, except this one doesn’t leave that egg or raw meat smell (I want to think it’s the calypso or meringue note). If you already have the first one, you don’t need this (unless, like me, the first one leaves you with that peculiar unpleasant aroma of egg, raw meat, or saliva).

I tested it on blotter and thought: what a wonder? I felt an elegant, slightly solar and amber opening that I liked, so I tested it on skin… a disaster. I don’t know what happened, but the chemistry with my skin made it rancid. I tested the classic Divine and it was the same: both smell RANCID on my skin, like wet, old flowers. I truly dislike it immensely. I’m not a fan of JPGs because I find them too sweet and potent; I’m not bothered by the potency, but the level of sweetness is overwhelming. If you have one, don’t buy the other; it’s the same scent, just stronger. Longevity: excellent, it lasts even after showering. Sillage: potent, you can’t miss it. Blind buy: definitely not, test it on skin because you might perceive the same thing I did. Occasion: I associate it with nighttime; I don’t see it for daily use.

  • SScandalosa

Totally different from the classic Divine. I can’t stand it; there’s a note that’s awful! And this one is a luxury. JPG always stands out. I tested it for 7 hours at the store and it’s still here, intact. I’ll definitely add it to my collection.

  • julita2000

It’s an incredible perfume. Longevity and sillage are 20/10. I tested it at a store on a Monday afternoon, showered that same night, and the next day it was still on my skin. It’s quite similar to the classic Divine EDP, but it has a floral note on the opening that makes it much richer. Also, it doesn’t have that egg smell that many mention, which I also detect in the classic. Without a doubt, a masterpiece I had to add to my collection.

  • If you don’t like the classic Divine, give this a chance (testing on skin, I wouldn’t recommend blind buys with any JPG brand). It has good longevity (~8 hours), though less than the classic Divine. I perceive it as much sweeter than the original. The classic Divine smelled a lot like meringue with a tiny salty touch; this one is very, very amber. I don’t find it redundant to have both; I think they offer different things. If I had to choose just one, I’d stick with the original, however, I believe this one is much more pleasant. Every time I wear it, I receive compliments.

  • Ugh, it smells similar to the regular Divine but more intense, and both smell like eggs when they dry down. Horrible, like unwashed cups!

  • joaquindalessio

What a crazy perfume! They didn’t have testers at the store, only the regular ‘Divine’ (which had already blown my mind), so I bought it blind. As soon as I opened it and applied the first drop, it hypnotized me! It’s a well-ambered perfume. It’s true that it has a salty note that, in my opinion, enhances the amber even more. Regarding the solar notes, I think they’re more of a mystical delirium than anything else. What is certain is that it’s a perfume where you easily get lost; it embraces you and floods you. As for longevity, I have terrible skin for perfumes (very dry), so I have to apply moisturizer, yet this bomb lasts me no less than eight hours. The sillage is quite noticeable—not as explosive as the longevity, but still very present.

  • What I love most is that rich, sweet opening, which is quite potent, before drying down into milky notes with a salty touch. I don’t smell the egg scent mentioned in other reviews. It’s a rich perfume with great longevity; I wore it yesterday and can still smell it now (it’s been over 24 hours).

  • I only tested it with a few drops and it was delightful; it smelled like the beach with an incredibly rich floral touch. I already loved the Frangipani, but the Elixir version is what really won me over. On the other hand, after about three hours, I noticed a more familiar scent: it’s about 80% similar to Bath and Body Works’ ‘At the Beach’ (which has a saltier note), though one is a perfume and the other isn’t. Just to clarify again, it’s this one that resembles the BBW scent, not the other versions.

  • Florasilvestre

Finally arrived. I loved it; it’s like a warm hug, very ambered and sweet but without being cloying. Although I won’t say it outright, I sense a meringue-like quality with a tropical fruit aroma (the frangipani). I was wary of that note due to reviews about headaches, but here it is beautiful, creamy, and floating in the sillage. Gorgeous. I already tested it on skin, and there’s no egg smell or anything weird. Longevity on the tester was days on clothes. Perfect for spring at 68°F and a bit humid; I hope to wear it in the heat too.

  • It smells like Divine, but this Le Parfum is more intense with an extra amber touch, yet it still feels fresh. It feels like a sexy and original fragrance; it smells delicious on me. For now, it’s in my top tier.

  • Salty resinous florals. Smelling this in the air on a summer night is incredible, though it works all year. The salt, benzoin, flowers, and amber are delicious. I do notice a slight acidity at the start. It was the first Jean Paul Gaultier I chose, and the bottle is gorgeous.

  • Quentin Bisch was inspired by two 90s songs that perfectly describe what Divine smells like: Marta Sánchez’s ‘Arena y sol, el mar azul… contigo yo, conmigo tú’ and Montaner’s ‘Iluminada y eterna, enfurecida y tranquila’.

  • Aishalulunim

It’s sweet and dark, fitting my style. On my skin, ambered floral notes stand out from the start, creating a warm and enveloping aroma. However, it’s quite linear with no evolution or contrast. Lacking dynamic nuances, I feel it would get tiring. It’s pleasant, but on my skin, it doesn’t have much personality.

  • NormaCuevas

Wow, I fell in love with this beauty. It’s an elegant, sensual summer evening on the beach. I adore it; it’s addictive. Worth every penny.

  • I bought a sample out of curiosity, and the opening smelled like salty fish; then it evolved, and on the skin it settled into an egg-like scent with a light fishy base… It wasn’t for me, but tastes vary. That said, the bottle is very pretty.

  • The longevity and sillage are absolutely insane; I’m honestly smitten. It lasts about 12 hours on my skin. The blend of frangipani and sea salt is fantastic, making it original and unconventional. I definitely love it.

  • It’s the same as the EDP but with a sweeter, ambered twist. Beautiful and elegant, a true masterpiece of a fragrance. I actually prefer this version to the original; it’s very special.

  • agus.celeste

I love it, although the marine note gave me pause at first. Now I truly enjoy it; it works for any season, though I might look for something different in winter. I sprayed it at 9 PM and woke up at 8 AM still catching whiffs with my movements, so the longevity is top-notch. One thing: men have complimented me a ton, and if that’s your main reason to buy it, you’ve made the right choice.
