I don’t know how or why, but as it dries down, it smells very similar to Aqua di Gioia, just fruitier. A rich, crisp, divine perfume for spring-summer. But nothing you haven’t smelled before. Watch out, if a man wears this scent… I fall in love.

I don’t know how or why, but when it dries down, it smells very similar to Aqua di Gioia, just fruitier. A rich, fresh, divine perfume for spring-summer. But nothing you haven’t heard before. Note: if a man wears it… I’m in love.

  • Reviewing a sample I was gifted. I don’t see gender in perfumes; it’s just crude marketing. Skin changes everything, so it’s interesting to see how a ‘feminine’ scent works on male skin. I liked Valentino, but for the wrong reasons: it reminded me of my family’s perfumes. It’s like if L’Imperatrice by D&G and Rochas Mademoiselle (pink) had a baby: fruity and sweet with kiwi (like D&G) that dries down to something caramelized on my male skin. It’s peculiar on a man, surprising as a non-intrusive daytime scent with short projection and medium 5-hour longevity. It doesn’t demand attention. With Valentino, I feel a bit lost, considering previous disastrous proposals like the linear and generic Born in Roma for men. This uncommon kiwi note might please some, so don’t be shy, try a couple of sprays, you might get hooked. Cheers! I wanted a very fruity summer perfume and chose this one. Born in Roma Coral Fantasy is a Caribbean fantasy. I’m impressed by the passion fruit, mango, fresh tangelo, and cedar notes. It’s cheerful, leaves a huge trail, and has fantastic longevity of about 8 hours. It’s like a frozen passion fruit sorbet, delicious. I recommend it for sunny days, spring, or summer—you’ll definitely get noticed. Deep and persistent trail for about 6 hours, with another 2 hours close to the skin. The bottle is gorgeous, a real personality statement.

  • Bought it blind and absolutely loved it. At first, it smells like intense sweet melon with a floral touch that takes away any childish vibe. The longevity isn’t quite as good as the traditional Born in Roma, but for spring and summer, it’s super great.

I tried it in-store and it’s fresh, fruity, and summery. The kiwi note feels realistic, reminiscent of D&G’s L’Imperatrice but with better intensity, projection, longevity, and overall appeal.

  • This flanker doesn’t seem identical or even similar to Donna Born in Roma; you can own both because they are very different. It’s a lovely perfume—floral, fruity, and summery, perfect for spring and summer. The opening is moderate, sparkling, and very fruity with a citrus kiwi that brings freshness, though slightly sweet without being annoying. As it dries down, the floral notes become more prominent without losing the fruity character. In summer, it lasts about 5 to 6 hours. It’s not groundbreaking but easy to like. I’d wear it well in heat or at the beach for a sweet yet fresh scent. Lately, it’s hard to find in Mexico.

  • This flanker isn’t identical to, nor does it closely resemble, its older sibling Donna Born in Roma; you can easily own both since they’re very different. It’s a lovely, summery floral-fruity scent. Perfect for spring and summer, it’s fresh and refreshing. The opening is medium, sparkling, and very fruity, with lots of kiwi and a touch of citrus that makes it feel crisp, though it also has a sweet note that isn’t overwhelming. As it dries down, the floral character becomes more prominent without losing its fruity vibe. In summer, it lasts about 5 to 6 hours. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s easy to like. I’d wear it great on hot days or at the beach, for those times when you want to smell sweet but cool. Lately, it’s been hard to find in Mexico.

  • I wore it on the second day and it reminded me of Britney’s Fantasy, though the opening is different. Once the sweet and sour kiwi dries down, it lingers until it becomes overwhelming. It’s sparkling, fruity, and summery, feeling more like a body mist—pleasant but lacking refinement. The sweetness wore me out to the point of nausea; it’s not for me, but I do like it.

  • Great choice; it’s an elegant fruity scent with musk. Despite the kiwi, it doesn’t smell teeny-bopper; it transports you to a summer sunset in Rome. You feel simple yet elegant, ready to live life. The kiwi starts acidic and sweet, a bit edible, but dries down perfectly. Honestly, the heat wore me out a bit, though it pairs beautifully with Alien Flora Future. A gorgeous concept, different from the original but sharing the same DNA, it just needs a bit more longevity.

  • Laylasallylucy

Perfect for a Victoria’s Secret body mist, and I don’t mean that as an insult, but as a standalone perfume it’s way too loud and lacks nuance.

  • Do you like smelling like kiwi? I don’t. Kiwi is fine for smoothies or salads, but for perfume… it seems they don’t know what to do with it anymore. What you should do is bring back discontinued gems like Armani’s Fiori, Manifesto Elixir, or Dior’s Addict 2002. Stop making nonsense. I wonder if perfumers or houses actually read reviews and YouTube videos. Fewer inventors, more listening to what people want. Stop reformulating great classics and just make colognes.

  • I really like it because it’s a sweet yet fresh and elegant fruity scent, perfect for summer. It gets very refreshing without smelling like lemon, having that just-showered-with-fruit-shampoo vibe, which is very pleasant. Note: it doesn’t resemble Fantasy at all.

  • The scent is pleasant, but nothing impressive. I feel the kiwi is always there; it seems very relaxed and simple. Longevity is low and there’s no sillage; it’s more of an intimate perfume that only those very close to you will notice. It’s for spring-summer, but you need to spray it several times to make it noticeable.

  • I love it; it’s an exquisite fragrance perfect for day or night. It’s noticeable without giving anyone a headache. Every time I wear it, people compliment its pleasant smell.

  • Cosmicgirl

I loved the scent, but I didn’t buy it because I felt it was too expensive for what it offered; it didn’t last long and faded quickly. It smells like gummy bears, similar to a Bath & Body Works splash but more sophisticated. It’s very similar, and while I like that cheerful vibe and the idea of wearing the shower gel scent, that’s why it feels overpriced. If I had extra money, I would definitely buy it.

At first, I found it very citrusy and sharp, almost like a floor cleaner, which made me reject it, but once it settled, it softened significantly. It reminded me of Dolce & Gabbana’s L’Imperatrice, which has that sweet watermelon note I prefer. Considering longevity and price, I’m sticking with L’Imperatrice. Rating: 7.5/10

I don’t notice it much on my own skin, but it definitely leaves a trail; every time I wear it, my coworkers and friends ask what I’m wearing. It smells very feminine, clean, and elegant—perfect for daytime but also great for going out at night. I gifted the mini to my mom and she absolutely loved it. It’s my first bottle, but I’d buy it again without hesitation.

  • Starts with a burst of mandarin and kiwi that dominates the first 30 minutes, feeling like a realistic fruit bomb. Then it matures into a jasmine-floral with a sweet, soft, non-animal musk typical of Ambrette. It’s clean and pleasant, but subtle on my skin; lasts over 8 hours, though the projection is low. Given the price and lack of originality (only the initial kiwi saves it), I wouldn’t add it to my collection. Rating: 5.5/10

  • So simple that when I tried them, they seemed like Coral Fantasy and Born In Roma, until I got obsessed. Sometimes beauty lies in simplicity. Both are coquettish, girly, and delicious like shampoo, only that Born in Roma feels woody and Coral Fantasy much more fruity. Still, they have a fine, elegant dry-down worthy of Valentino, so I’m retracting my words from the first BIR review. I want this to complete the dream trifecta between Donna, Donna Born in Roma, and Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy, and I’ll be happy.

I first bought it in December 2022 because I fell in love with it; I adored and enjoyed it so much since I’m a huge fan of its summer aroma. This December 2024, I bought it again, and to my surprise, it’s much more expensive, plus the scent doesn’t last at all anymore and it lacks the same trail; a total disappointment. I advise against buying it—the price is way too high, and now you only enjoy the scent right after spraying it. It doesn’t last on skin or clothes. I’ve been hugely let down.

I advise against buying it: the price is high and now it only smells when you apply it, lasting neither on skin nor clothes. I was hugely let down.

  • It’s my favorite version of Born In Roma. So fruity and refreshing for a hot day, yet sweet at the same time. A delight, pretty good longevity 8/10 and leaves a nice trail 8/10. Would I buy it again? Absolutely, it feels very versatile and it’s one of those scents you don’t want to stop smelling.

  • It has me hooked. Sweet, but not cloying, fruity, and different (not strawberry or mango). The only downside is the longevity, which is quite low. I don’t get why people say it’s similar to L’Imperatrice… nothing alike.

  • It’s perfect for summer; when I tried it, I loved it and it put me in a good mood. But there’s a serious issue if you consider the price: it doesn’t last at all, maybe an hour, two at best. It projects well for the first half hour and then stays close to the skin. I don’t understand why the quality of perfumes in general has dropped so much.

  • I’d define it as fruity and refreshing. Subtle citrus (kiwi) and sweet, juicy orange. Its longevity is short, and it stays mostly on the skin. The price is way too high for what it offers, but you can appreciate the novel blend of its aroma.

It’s my second Valentino. Unlike the classic Born in Roma, this smells fresher and fruitier, perfect for heat, not cold. At first, it smells like tangerine, then fresh cut rose, without that powdery Lancome touch, but with morning dew, mixed with a jasmine that complements without overpowering. The kiwi is there but doesn’t dominate. The musk wraps it all up, making it cozy and sweet. I’ll let it macerate because it smells different from the Liverpool sample; maybe the sample was already opened and mine just arrived. In short, it’s lovely, fresh, and great for daily wear, though it reminds me of something I’ve smelled before, perhaps Paris Hilton.

  • It’s a very tasty fragrance, ideal for spring and summer. Here in Argentina, it’s expensive for what it offers: it lasts an hour and then sticks to the skin. It feels fruity and youthful, but that’s about it.

  • At first application, it smells great, then it turns into a sweet, citrusy, alcoholic bubble that invades everything. You have to apply it carefully or it will overwhelm you.

  • Loreamaranta

It smells very much like Limperatrice, but with superior development: it’s super fruity, summery, and the kiwi is genuinely noticeable.
