Wulóng Chá by Nishane

Wulong Cha is a brilliant, unique, relaxing, and fresh perfume. That’s all there is to it. I found it via Rafa at The Parfum Gallery; I had doubts because the sweet nutmeg notes aren’t entirely pleasant to me, but here they add body and, along with the fig, create a certain creaminess. It’s completely unisex, and the performance is beastly… I wore it at 28 degrees while riding a bike, and it never bothered me; it just appeared to make me feel comfortable and happy. In enclosed spaces, I see it as good for casual use, and yes, in extreme heat, just be careful not to overapply. The tea note is very different from Creed’s Silver Mountain Water; here, it only adds a spicy, relaxing accent. It easily lasts 8 hours, which is wonderful for such a natural freshie. Without thinking twice, a 10 from the Turkish house. It’s a bit forgotten, but understandable because we have Hacivat, Fan Your Flames, etc… Update: Two years later, I still think the same. I’ve tried many freshies, but I always keep coming back to Wulong Cha.

To me, Nishane Wulong Cha is an underrated gem from the house, overshadowed by Ani or Hacivat. Let me say upfront that it’s one of the most potent and long-lasting fresh perfumes I know. The opening is sharp, fruity, and citrusy. The fig, tea, and citrus notes are very distinct. The lychee and berry facets are fleshy and photorealistic. The spicy touch gives it punch, keeping it robust for many hours until the musk takes over and finishes it off. It’s a beast. Green, fresh, revitalizing, sparkling, complex—it has everything. Perfectly unisex, ideal for heat, beastly performance, and very versatile. If it reminds you of The Time by THOO or Fico by Amalfi, this Nishane shines on its own, with more nuances and no envy of the quality of the others. Rating: 9/10.

Wulong Cha is citrusy, green, and spicy. Citrus and green opening with a pleasant, energizing tea aroma. It’s very linear until you detect a musky accord. Reminded me a bit of John Varvatos Artisan Pure. Overall, it’s rich, has body, and is well-made, suitable for spring and summer, office, outdoors, school, or casual outings. Longevity is very good, over 8 hours on me, with moderate sillage that delivers scent bursts. I love these citrus and green fragrances because they put me in a good mood. The price is high in department stores, but if you can find it at wholesale, it’s worth it if you like this style. Recommend trying before buying blind.

Nishane Wulong Cha: The Turkish house established itself in the market with fragrances for every taste. Hidden in their collection is this gem that isn’t talked about much but boasts great quality. How to summarize its scent? An infusion of Oolong tea with lemon, a sweet fruity part of fig, all sitting on a creamy, sexy base. A fragrance for temperate and hot weather, though its potent sweet fruity opening can be overwhelming in intense heat, but once it settles, it’s perfect. If the scent matches your taste, it’s worth trying. It deserves more recognition, and here I contribute my two cents.

Citrus-green taken to the extreme. The opening is sharp and strong; ideally, let it sit for a minute so the magic can unfold later. I adore it for the feelings it evokes: harmony, peace, and tranquility, an essence so calming it competes with diazepam. Perfect for summer, those intense heat days where you don’t know what to wear. If you step out of the shower for a quiet afternoon, it’s perfect. Works in all settings: going out, walking, gym, chilling out. The dry down is slightly sweet, unassuming, just citrus, tea, and a hint of fig pulp that gives it a cozy twist. Wonderful.

Easy to explain, wear, and understand. It smells like tea. Very fresh, green, with a sparkling citrus opening but no actual citrus scent, just tea. A refreshing and captivating tea leaf. No more twists. It’s simple, not basic. On my skin, it lasts moderately with no projection; after the first hour, it sits close to the skin. I’m not a tea fan, but I understand why others love this Wulong so much. Completely unisex and very versatile, only limited by heat, but wearable in any summer. Scent: 7/10, Longevity: 7.5/10, Projection: 6/10.

Completely unisex. A delicious, fairly natural citrus opening, like bergamot and mandarin zest. As it dries down, the fig and tea are perfectly distinguishable, giving a gratifying sensation. Although it’s not declared, I sense a touch of rose that gives it a sober air that I loved. I’ll buy it to share with my girlfriend because it’s one of the few unisex scents I’ve smelled that doesn’t lean too heavily one way or the other… along with Sukimuki No. 17, this is the most unisex I’ve tried for spring/summer (8.5/10).

One of the reasons I didn’t buy this sooner, despite the good reviews, was the fear that it would be identical to BR Vintage Green 78, and I didn’t want two similar fragrances. But after seeing so many reviews and videos describing it as the ultimate summer scent—refreshing and rich—I finally bought it, and it absolutely does not disappoint. I can’t find any resemblance to Vintage Green 78, and I regret not enjoying it sooner. Exceptional quality, as always from Nishane. Highly recommended.

Another high level for Nishane. The tea note is well-contained among the other ingredients, underscored by bergamot and musk, giving it a very pleasant and soapy character. As it develops on the skin, that soapy quality emerges, transforming it into a captivating lemon tea soap. The sweet fig appears later but fades away, leaving a fresh musky base that accompanies you for hours. A pleasant and well-constructed perfume.

Wulong Cha is pure balance: steeped black tea with fig and a bergamot opening that steals the show. Then comes the smoky tea with a creamy milkiness, secured by the fig. The climax hits at 2-3 hours with an exotic, fruity, and creamy note. Lasts like crazy for this type of fragrance. Quality above average, though the price is high and might turn some off. For me, a solid 7/10.

Green, citrusy, and refreshing—I love that modern oriental tea vibe. It’s bright yet relaxing, with a creamy touch that I imagine is perfect for spring or a spa session in the heat. The price is justified by the quality, longevity, and that unique character. For now, I’m content with the decant sample, but I’m definitely planning to buy the full bottle.

I bought a decant on sale; although the scent is rich, I feel it doesn’t last at all, poor longevity and sillage. For the price, it doesn’t perform. Maybe I was sold a fake decant because it has no longevity or sillage, it just sits close to the skin. If you pay a high price, it should stand out and make an impression.

A green and citrus fragrance, totally unisex and relaxing. You can tell the ingredients are high quality, and it has excellent longevity, though it’s a light scent. It’s basically Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea on steroids: more refined, with a quality difference that justifies the price.

I searched for years for the ‘Metropolitan Center’ (MTY) scent and this is it. Citrusy, clean, the tea note is present from the opening all the way to the dry down, fresh and slightly sweet from the fig. I definitely love its proposal and longevity; projection on my skin is moderate.

This is pure luxury: a blend of tea, citrus, and oils that leaves you feeling bright, elegant, and relaxed. It’s like stepping into a luxury hotel spa. Lasts 10-12 hours and projects about a meter. I’m happy with it and would definitely buy it again.
