Rich, fresh, versatile, clean, and floral aroma. It’s sharp and zesty thanks to the citrus, with good projection and an exquisite dry-down that’s musky with a very pleasant sweet touch from the amber and tonka bean.
For me, fougères just don’t work. The smell clashes with me; it smells like Bogart by Jacques to me, and my wife says I smell like cilantro and parsley. I don’t sense any citrus or freshness at all.
This fragrance’s scent is among the best designer scents I’ve ever tried… It will stay in my collection until I find an Arabic dupe that gives me what this one doesn’t, which disappoints more and more every time… The longevity is painful… My previous bottle, bought in 2022, gave me at most 3 hours of scent. Three months ago, I got a 200ml bottle, and if it reaches 2 hours, it’s a miracle… Total disappointment with the performance… And I don’t understand people who criticize those who complain about longevity… Let them look at it themselves.
To put it briefly: it’s L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme with rose instead of lotus, and it lasts about the same, maybe a bit less. It’s versatile, clean, has some floral notes that don’t bother anyone, and it’s not as loud; here, the citrus is more measured. It’s one of those scents you always keep on hand because it works just as well for a quick errand as it does for a night out.
I agree with @Stockier. If you know L’Eau D’Issey but have never tried VPH, think of it as a modernized version of L’Eau D’Issey with a touch of tonka vanilla sweetness at the top. Then, as it moves into the heart and base, it reminds you a lot of Chanel Allure Homme Sport (at 25-30% of the price), but it’s sharper, less refined, and slightly more synthetic—that’s where the price difference shows, though it’s not bad. It has that famous creamy quality of the Chanel. It has nothing to do with Nautica or the Antonio Banderas fragrance; the only similarity is the freshness, but they take different paths. It’s an excellent scent. If you like Allure or L’Eau D’Issey, buy VPH blind; you’ll love it. Performance: use it in weather above 20 degrees; below that, it’s almost imperceptible. A few notes: it’s a fresh, citrusy EDT, so if it lasts more than 6 hours on skin, that would be irrational—expecting more is absurd. Like most fresh EDTs, its longevity hovers around 4 to 6 hours (which is normal); the solution: apply it on clothes, and it lasts all day. Projection: at first, it’s powerful and feels synthetic, even unpleasant—that bad sensation lasts 15-20 minutes and then disappears, projecting for another 60-70 minutes (totaling about 90-100 minutes of power). Then it drops to a personal bubble, but if you wear it on clothes, it stays pleasantly noticeable for hours. The trail depends on your movements; for example, I put it on at 8 AM, and at 3 PM my wife asked if I had reapplied. No, it was just a sudden movement at 2 meters, and that was enough for the fragrance on my clothes to send its trail right to her.
I love reading negative reviews that explain why, not just saying it smells bad without giving reasons. If someone doesn’t like it and doesn’t explain why, the review is nothing more than confirming that it doesn’t suit that stranger. The point of this forum is to justify opinions so everyone pays attention to some detail we might have missed. We need to illustrate and explain, not just toss an opinion into the air, because that’s irrelevant.
This is the fragrance I’ve bought the most for its price-to-quality ratio. It’s easy to like and use (perfect for daily wear), very versatile for the office or sports. Fresh and very pleasant. I found it very similar to Chanel Allure Homme Sport (which costs double).
It was my first foray into perfumes. I know there are better options among the ‘blues’, but for me, it more than delivers. I’ve been wearing it for years, and it’ll stay on my shelf. Sillage and projection: it’s not meant to bomb the room or leave a trail down the path; other scents do that better. Longevity: on my skin, it lasts about two hours, but a few more sprays, on clothes, or having a decant handy fixes that. Versatility: ideal for spring and summer, though I’ve used it in other seasons, days, and nights; it’s so subtle and pleasant that it holds up well. Compliments: obviously, it’s not a compliment magnet, but I’ve gotten them plenty of times. The opposite sex usually likes it quite a bit. Occasions: not for parties or the gym, but great for daytime outings, work, or hot days; in its element, it’s a fantastic daily wear.
In short: citrus, musky, astringent, clean, aquatic, fresh, with a touch of floral, and very masculine.
It doesn’t hook me, it’s not a bad thing, but it smells like medicine 🥸🙃
Respect to anyone who smells it, but the arthritis ointment smells better.
It’s one of the perfumes I started using three years ago; a rich, fresh, and sexy aroma. I always recommend wearing it with a white or light shirt for casual outings or special events like weddings. What you smell most is the lime note, floral with musk. I also own Chanel Allure Homme Sport, and the difference is that Allure feels richer due to the juicy orange and tangerine, offering higher quality, but remember it costs almost triple the price.
One of my favorite perfumes. It has a rich, distinctive scent, very fresh for summer and heat. It’s not a bomb or beast mode; people will only notice it if they get close. It’s an EDT, lasting about 4-5 hours with moderate projection before settling to skin scent. On clothes, it lasts longer; even at 7 hours, it’s still noticeable if you apply a generous amount. The opening is citrusy, then shifts to something more ambered, but the citrus remains present. I’ve received compliments with this one; women usually love it. It’s striking and delightful. It works great on dates, birthdays, or casual summer outings. It’s very versatile and different from Polo Blue, which I feel is more formal. Always for spring-summer. Would I recommend it? Yes. It’s a scent I absolutely love, but if you want heavy projection, this isn’t your perfume. I repurchased the 200ml bottle because to get that moderate projection, you have to apply a lot. If you apply too little, it disappears.
Fresh, citrusy, and clean with a creamy touch. In the dry down, it reminds me of similar scents like Clinique Happy or supermarket fragrances in Colombia. But!!! The quality is on another level, and the ingredients feel well-unified without any harsh notes. 10/10 for its price of $44 in 2025.
Ideal for dates and hot days. I find it similar to Montblanc Starwalker, but pricier and with more florals. It’s quite a youthful perfume.
Versace Pour Homme is conceptually the Italian man. Whether we’re talking Sicily, Capri, Rome, or the Amalfi Coast, it’s a fresh fragrance that projects class and refinement in the style of master perfumer Alberto Morillas. It features a well-balanced citrus-floral opening over a base of musk, cedar, and amber, olfactorily evoking the scent of sea salt on a freshly broken wave. I agree with other reviews: it’s perfect for wearing with a white shirt and pretending to be the most refined Italian. Projection lasts about 2 hours, and longevity is around 4. However, you can’t ask for more from this masterpiece by Alberto Morillas; may he be blessed for many more years.
I bought Versace Pour Homme for the heat of the Spanish coast, and it delivers 100%. It’s fresh, clean, and luminous, ideal for day and night, though it shines even more under the sun. It gives a sense of neatness and well-being, as if you just stepped out of the shower with a sea breeze. It doesn’t project too much, but that’s its charm: it’s versatile, elegant, and always appropriate. Perfect for the office, a walk, or just feeling good in your own skin. It conveys clarity, freshness, and good energy.
Fresh, citrusy, and aromatic, perfect for daily use, the office, or the gym on hot days. It smells like a clean man who takes care of his image. Absolutely spectacular!
The best option for extreme heat: I’ve gotten lots of compliments and people have asked what I’m wearing. It smells clean, like just out of the shower, without that ocean smell that sometimes I don’t like. Super easy to use for uni, the office, or any casual outing with the sun on your back.
After reading @Charlienom’s comment, I checked the official Versace website and confirmed they do have ‘Oud Wood’ in the base. What I dislike about Oud is that it prevents blind buying; there are so many types. It can be animalic, fecal, smoky, or spicy, or in its softer, sweeter, and fruity versions. In this case, I don’t think it has real Oud, or it’s a very mild and simple version: sweet and woody. It seems like a marketing move to attract experts, as it’s actually a simple and charming fragrance. Based solely on that note, you can buy it without the risk of smelling like an animal in heat.
Smells amazing, ideal for summer thanks to that geranium that gives it the touch. Elegant, super fresh, and perfect for dressing up… but watch out, longevity is very weak, its biggest weakness.
One of my favorite perfumes; it’s unobtrusive and leaves a feeling of total freshness and cleanliness, a true olfactory delight. It’s a shame it broke with 91% of the liquid still inside, but I’ll buy it again without hesitation.
Aqua di Gio is the raw diamond, and Versace Pour Homme is that same diamond cut and polished to a shine.
The king of extreme heat: people ask me what I’m wearing. It smells like just out of the shower, not like the beach, avoiding that salty tone that doesn’t suit me. Ideal for uni, the office, or going out with the sun on your back.
Honestly, I fell in love with Chanel’s Allure Homme Sport, but it was too expensive and I noticed this one smelled similar. In the store, smelling it on paper, I thought ‘eh’, but days later the paper reminded me a lot of the Chanel, so I bought it. Now that I have mine, it smells more citrusy than Allure, but it has its own charm. I’d say it has lemon while Allure has orange, but once they dry down, they’re identical. It’s my first designer fragrance, it smells great, and it’s not that pricey; I recommend buying it blind. EDIT: It fades quickly, maybe next time I’ll go for Allure; with two PHs I can buy an AHS and it lasts longer, I think.
The 3 B’s have a treasure: clean musk, citrus, and soft roses, but very masculine. Perfect for a casual outing in the heat, like you just came out of the bathroom to show off that freshness.
My first paid designer perfume. It’s one of the richest scents I’ve ever heard. So rich that there’s no dominant note; everything is so balanced that the first time I didn’t know what was in the bottle, just that I was thrilled. When I put it on, it seemed impossible not to ask my family, and everyone was blown away. It’s clean, versatile, masculine, fresh, and delicious. I live in a city where the shade is 10 degrees and the sun is 35, and this is ideal for both, without bothering anyone. Obviously, it’s not for special dates. In my opinion, anyone 15 and up can wear it, as it’s very versatile but also very masculine. Its only flaw is longevity: with 12 sprays, I get a strong trail for about 2 hours, by 4 hours it’s just skin scent, and by 8 hours it’s gone.
A delight for hot days. If it lasted longer, it would be the best summer perfume ever. Buy it blind, you won’t be disappointed.
The opening smells like lemon detergent and then evolves into cilantro. Watch out, you have to test it on skin because it’s not for everyone.
What a cool perfume. At first, with that lemon and bergamot, it smells super citrusy and fresh. But after about 15-20 minutes, it gets a bit bitter and elegant, without losing its summery and carefree vibe. In short: elegant yet informal, perfect for the heat and any social outing.
I bought this for summer and it hasn’t disappointed. Rich, fresh, with a citrus opening and great projection. It becomes more subdued as it dries down but maintains that clean presence that has earned me many compliments. It’s very versatile; longevity isn’t perfect, so I recommend reapplying, but given the price you can find it for between 40,000 and 45,000 Chilean pesos, it’s highly recommended.
With this fragrance, you can never go wrong. It’s fresh and I think anyone would find it pleasant. Ideal for your first fragrance, great for daily wear, and perfect for working out.
I like it. Fresh and interesting for summer. Perhaps a bit too sweet for my taste.
Wooooow, I’ve wanted this for a while; it’s exquisite. The notes and chords listed on the box are exactly what you get: citrus, marine, floral, green, and fresh. It’s super special because of those green notes that hit you right in the nose—a very fresh, refreshing green. This cologne delivers. Now, this shouldn’t be called Eau de Toilette; it’s more like a mild body mist, because it’s a damn shame it doesn’t last even 3 hours. Thanks to a deal at an authorized retailer in Chile, I got a 200 ml bottle for $67, and I’m glad I paid that; I was tempted to pay $110 before and would have regretted it. I recommend buying it only if you catch a deal under $80 at an authorized retailer. It doesn’t last at all; you have to reapply every 3 hours at key points: behind the ears, neck, inner arm, wrist, maybe chest. You have to reapply a lot. I hope $67 doesn’t hurt, but you do have to reapply a lot, every 3 hours to keep smelling it. It’s a pity it doesn’t last; back in the 2000s, it lasted much longer; now it’s a shame they’ve ruined the longevity. I recommend buying it, but only if you find an incredible deal on the 200 ml size. For me, it will be my daily summer scent in South America, but I won’t get through three months of it even with all the reapplication.
Spring-summer, best worn with a white crew-neck tee. Clean, exquisite, and intimate.
Fresh, energizing, and clean. Great for daily wear. Ideal for spring and summer, but also good all year round indoors. Many people talk about the lemon opening, but to me, it smells more like orange (it has Neroli, which is oil from the orange blossom).
Super energizing, citrusy, and fresh, with a sweet touch that isn’t cloying. Perfect for summer with a crisp white button-down. It’s a super clean scent, great for everyday wear and ideal for the office because you can smell it without it being overwhelming. Everyone loves it. It has incredible versatility: office, dinner out, beach, a stroll, or the gym. You can use it for anything and it delivers. Highly recommended; you won’t regret trying it.
Allure de Chanel came out earlier, in 2004, while this Versace launched in 2008.
I have a soft spot for this one. Even though it wasn’t my first designer fragrance, it was the one that sparked my interest and has earned me plenty of compliments at work. The citrus and marine blend is perfect for daytime. I actually think Allure de Chanel was inspired by it. It’s a must-have in your collection due to its versatility; it has no flaws. 8.5/10
Fresh and ideal for extreme heat, it lasts all day. If you like citrus, you can buy this blind. It projects well and has great longevity, plus I’ve gotten a lot of compliments. Final score: 8.7/10
