As PulpoCarrasco says, sillage and longevity are quite ‘meh’, it does the job, but it’s a HER-MO-SO scent.
I tested this Bvlgari Tygar inspiration and the opening conquered me: fresh, sparkling grapefruit, like a sip of freshly squeezed juice. Super vibrant and lifts your mood. As it settles, the spices like ginger take over and mute the citrus a bit, which didn’t thrill me as much. But surprise with the dry down! After a couple of hours, it transforms into something warm, fresh, and elegant that fills the room without being heavy. At a meeting six hours after applying it, about five minutes before others arrived, they asked what perfume I was wearing because I filled the room and it smelled amazing; my wife wouldn’t stop saying how much she loved it. Now I’m curious about the original Tygar, but this version already has me hooked. Lasts more than twelve hours and projects great! Recommend it for those looking for something fresh and sophisticated.
Elegant, subtle, citrusy, marine, woody… just good things. The quality-to-price ratio has few rivals.
Turathi Blue was one of the first for my collection, looking for something versatile for the office… a very good surprise. At first, the opening didn’t click with me, very mature citrus, but as I used it more, I was captivated, associating it with something elegant and soapy, like a luxury hotel. I had to smell Tygar on blotter paper and they are very similar, 80-90% alike. Projection and performance: once someone told me they could smell it as soon as I walked in, though that only happened once. Longevity is quite good, between 6 and 7 hours, projects well for the first two hours then becomes a personal bubble. If you’re starting with Arabic perfumes or building a collection, Turathi Blue is a good option. In my opinion, it’s one of the best in its category as an ‘Arabic blue’.
Could be my signature scent: when I wear it, I feel like I’m home. Revitalizing, elegant, and super versatile. It has that fresh citrus kick for heat but an amber depth for any occasion. Maybe I wouldn’t wear it to the gym (it projects so much in the heat that people get dizzy), nor in winter. It seems intimate, but everyone within a meter and a half says, ‘You smell great.’ One of the ones that gets the most compliments, even though it’s considered shy. Lasts about six hours, so it works well with a decant, especially in summer, like you just took a dip in the pool.
VERSATILE, PLEASANT BUT SUBTLE. On me, the citrus dominates from the start—I detected grapefruit or lime, nothing sharp, quickly followed by patchouli and woods. Citrus/musk/patchouli/woods, no major evolution, simple but pleasant. It hasn’t earned me compliments, but people say it smells good. I see it as versatile, more for day and heat, casual use, office, or sports, but not for dates; it can come off as very common. Performance is average, didn’t last past six hours, trail is subtle but noticeable, low projection, doesn’t draw attention. Affordable price but I wouldn’t recommend it for performance; there are better similar options. Bought it based on references; maybe my skin didn’t deliver the expected result. Compliments: 7, Longevity: 6, Projection: 6, Sillage: 7, Price: 10, Total: 7.2.
Pleasant and reliable. Citrus, woody with a musky base. Simple and very versatile. Spectacular price. Moderate longevity and projection. Note: it’s totally daytime and for warm climates.
Pleasant fragrance, nothing more. Citrus with the grapefruit or pomelo as the protagonist, smells good but not rich or exquisite. Doesn’t last long or project much. It’s a bit like Jean Lowe Azure but loaded more towards the grapefruit. I don’t find it mature, it’s for any age, totally casual and summery. If I’m honest, there are better options, but I recommend trying it without doubt, don’t buy blind because it might disappoint you. It reminds me of grapefruit grass for drinking mate. In summary: pleasant fragrance that doesn’t project much, try it but don’t buy blind, I don’t know if it reminds me of Tygar because I haven’t tried it.
Excellent, elegant, and subtle—captivating but not intrusive. Perfect for indoors and warm climates. Lasts and projects very well for over six hours.
More boring than eating plain white rice without salt. It adds nothing; it smells like lemon and plywood. The worst in my collection, right up there with Le Parfait de Armaf (two disasters I keep next to the toilet).
Excellent, rich, and elegant. The original Tygar is deeper but costs ten times as much. A great blue for hot weather.
It’s a good fragrance, yes. It’s not the revitalizing bomb those YouTube reviewers exaggerate. Citrus opening stretching towards a grapefruit but not so strident. It reminds me of the discontinued Light Blue Italian Love and something of Forever, some vibes. I also feel it spiced with a patchouli base and a hint of dish soap. I liked it but I let myself be carried away by the hype. Unfortunately, this batch doesn’t last long and the projection is psychological, you have to believe it’s there. Summer scent, I don’t feel it as elegant as they say. Bad performance. 7/10. I don’t know the Tygar, if it smells like this it’s a rip-off. Edit: I already know the Tygar and they are quite similar. The Bvlgari one smells elegant and feels quality, but its price is excessive. This clone comes close though it’s dirtier, darker, and synthetic with that green dish soap base.
I’m human and I make mistakes… A while ago I said it wasn’t the big deal, but in the heat it’s INCREDIBLE. Pleasant, aquatic, citrusy, and herbal aroma (smells like grapefruit grass). I love the aura when you walk and the waves you feel, it’s spectacular. Lasts normally for 5-6 hours and is at a good price (around $28,000 CLP). For summer it’s a 10/10, it’s one of the best Arab scents I’ve tried without a doubt.
INCREDIBLE, I love it and it surprised me too much. On my nose, it’s a grapefruit and ginger bomb, with juicy grapefruit predominating. I tested it today at 26 degrees at 2 PM in Buenos Aires, humid, and it’s exquisite. I think it’s versatile but more for relaxed days, hanging out with friends, informal/casual. We’ll see on performance, but for price and QUALITY it’s a 10/10. It reminds me of the Bensimon Brave EDT available in Argentina but much more evolved. Total madness, I’d buy it again without doubt.
I tested it in a decant and didn’t like it entirely. Smells good but it’s a mix between Blue de Chanel and Inmortel by MA. As it matures, the longevity is average. I put it on at 9 and by 12 I could barely smell it, neither on clothes nor skin. I’ll stick with Inmortel (denser) or a more energetic citrus. Disappointment.
I bought it this summer and have been testing it little by little. At home, post-shower, it’s something light. I see it as a dark citrus; the grapefruit feels great. The curious part: yesterday I sprayed two sprays on my forearm to play padel, and while playing, exquisite and seductive bursts came. I thought who smelled so good until I realized it was me. That’s when I understood the richness: it has two aromas, the close-up one and the one left in the air. The one in the air is the good one.
For my compatriots: What does the opening smell like? To opening a chilled grapefruit from Paso de los Toros on a 35-degree day. A rich, natural, and vibrant grapefruit, nothing synthetic. Then it calms down and gets serious, like Bleu de Chanel, woody and elegant. At 21, it’s a summer bomb but shines in formal settings; it makes you imagine a white shirt and a suit. For daily wear, it’s a ten. Decent performance: 6 or 7 hours projecting well at the start. And the price: around 50,000 pesos (less than $35) is a steal. Quality and freshness at a joke price. Safe blind buy if you like classy citrus.
Half full or half empty: a unique, citrusy, spiced, and rich aroma, far from mainstream. I love the freshly cut red pepper note at the start. But it doesn’t smell like a common perfume, doesn’t get compliments, and gets confused with mosquito repellent. It’s like a divided glass, I recommend not buying blind.
Strengths: rich, masculine, and super versatile. It’s a powerful scent punch. The downside: brutal citrus opening but it drops off in 10 minutes and clings to the skin. It doesn’t project or last with normal doses. Only works with more than 12 sprays. I wouldn’t buy it if there are similar, more expensive, and longer-lasting options.
I love this fragrance. I hadn’t heard of Tygar until today, and I’m telling you, it’s 96% similar. The difference lies in the opening. Not to sound humble, but I think this Turathi actually smells better than its own inspiration.
Versatile yet with a formal air, citrusy and elegant. People reacted with ‘opa, ah la mierda’ when smelling it.
I bought this thinking it was identical to Bvlgari Tygar, but it’s almost the same, just with a different opening. Later, in the heart notes and dry down, I can tell they are identical.
I first tried Sospiro Vibrato (less synthetic) and Turathi Blue (very similar but for a fifth of the price). It’s a very fresh scent that doesn’t bother anyone; I’ve received tons of compliments. It doesn’t overwhelm me, but it’s rich and a great blind buy. It smells like clean shampoo and manly, with a bright amber note. It’s the fragrance in my collection that makes people ask ‘what are you wearing?’ the most.
Incredible. It’s the best fresh Arabic perfume I’ve ever smelled. It has a slightly formal profile but is super versatile—totally all-terrain. The scent is a fusion of citrusy grapefruit with a sophisticated spicy and woody base. The citrus reminds me a lot of Dolce & Gabbana The One, that spice-citrus combo is one of the best, thanks to the quality of the notes. Since it’s fresh, I didn’t have high expectations for longevity, but I was pleasantly surprised by both how long it lasts and its projection. On my skin, it lasts about eight hours, projecting intermittently starting from the second hour. If you’re looking for something fresh, elegant, and versatile to be your signature scent for any occasion, I definitely recommend it.
As Javitor says, this perfume is different when you smell it yourself versus when someone smells it on you; that’s its magic. People will compliment you because it makes them sigh, haha. On my skin, it lasts about 6-7 hours, and on clothes, at least two days. I own several blues: Bleu Chanel EDP, Sauvage EDP, Dylan Blue, L’Homme Idéal Sport EDP, Explorer EDP, Polo Blue EDP, and this Turathi Blue. I also have citrus scents like Dior Homme Cologne, L’Eau d’Issey, and Aqua di Gio EDT, but the one that’s earned me the most compliments is this Arab fragrance, followed by Polo Blue EDP. There must be something really good about it.
I don’t know the Bvlgari Tygar, but I absolutely love this one. It smells delicious, fresh, and elegant. The packaging and bottle are top-notch; the scent feels like a high-end, fine fragrance. I’d wear it during the day, from casual outings to formal events. Performance isn’t its strongest suit, so if you get the chance, grab a backup; the price is great and makes it worth it. Longevity tops out around 6 hours, but it projects well for the first hour and a half to two. If the performance were better, this would definitely be in my top 5.
Starts delicious with prominent citrus, musk, and amber, giving a warm yet fresh vibe. After an hour or two, the citrus fades and the base of musk, amber, patchouli, wood, and some spice remains. I find it a bit cloying but rich. By the 4-5 hour mark, it loses its best notes and becomes more generic, reminding me of the Cyzone Nitro Black I used to wear as a kid, but more refined. On skin, it lasts about 6 hours, with the last 2 hours being very weak (two dry-downs). On clothes, it lasts longer, but the sillage is poor after 7 hours; you can still detect it at 12 hours, but very subtly.
It lasts, projects well, is elegant, and everyone loves it. It has that Bleu de Chanel vibe. Beautiful perfume, great purchase, perfect for everyday wear. If you’re looking for a single all-rounder without breaking the bank, this is the one I recommend.
One of the best I’ve ever bought; everyone loves it and I get tons of compliments. After a few months, the longevity improved—letting it mature was a good idea. It’s not one of those that last forever, maybe around five hours, but if you give it a little reapplication, it still smells great.
The only Arab fragrance along with Jasoor by Lattafa that I’ve praised. At first I didn’t like it because I considered it too linear and I truly had high expectations based on what I’d read in reviews. I rejected it in a swap and then smelled it again later, and it captivated me, so I ended up accepting it. At first my girlfriend said it smelled like ‘dad’ or ‘grandpa’, then I stopped using it for a while due to the cold weather and took it out again in spring/summer to wear it for my professional practice. Only praise, positive comments, and my girlfriend loved it without knowing it was the same perfume. Totally recommended.
Rich scent but very linear, it’s grapefruit or woods, its price is still high considering it launched years ago.
100% satisfying. I haven’t tried the original Tygar, but I know Bleu de Chanel inside and out; it’s not a 1:1 clone, but something between the EDT and EDP. Very masculine, with a potent citrus opening that fades quickly, leaving behind strong patchouli and musk that lasts longer. It’s not impressive, but not flat either. It’s a quality Arabic scent without that typical alcohol or bubblegum taste. Smells great and works for everything, though the longevity is short (3-4 hours on skin, 1-2 hours projecting). Versatile, affordable, and high quality. It’s a real crowd-pleaser and I’ve gotten tons of compliments. Worth it, just keep in mind it doesn’t last long.
I’ve had it for a few weeks, very good scent from the start and after drying down. I’ll take it to my vacation in Brazil, we’ll keep testing. Recommended for what it costs.
Extraordinary… in the vein of Bleu de Chanel EDP. I’m buying it again, yes or yes.
I tried it, but it just doesn’t quite agree with me. It has good longevity and projection, but I don’t know who came up with the idea that this resembles Bvlgari Tygar; it doesn’t resemble it much at all, I’d say 50 or 60%. But setting that aside, it’s a good perfume, just not much to my liking.
The opening is quite pleasant and feels like good quality. Bright citrus but not sharp… I don’t see almost any negatives. I’d give it an 8.5/10. Call me crazy, but strangely it reminds me of the scent of Jean Loup Azzur by Maison Alhambra. Recommended if you don’t have a summer fragrance yet and with a citrus/clean aromatic profile.
Perfume, citrusy, fresh, refined, correct longevity, 100% recommended.
To the point: Does it smell good? Yes. Does it resemble Tygar? To some extent, yes, but clearly in lesser proportions. The opening is citrusy, quite fresh, with acceptable quality. Then the woody notes appear, and to be honest, that’s where it practically stays. There isn’t much more evolution; the perfume remains fairly linear. With Tygar, the story is different: it evolves more, changes over the hours, and the quality difference is quite noticeable. Of course, we’re also talking about a much more expensive perfume. Do I recommend it? Yes. It works very well for a hot summer. It smells pleasant, is affordable, and has an average longevity of about 5 hours, with a projection close to an hour and a half. That said: don’t buy it expecting it to be a real Tygar clone. Better to take it for what it is: a fresh, pleasant, and accessible fragrance for daily wear.
I don’t know the Bvlgari Tygar, but I own Club de Nuit Iconic and this smells identical, though it’s a bit less sweet and feels more suited for an adult. I love it, and all Afnan scents are a step up in quality over other Arab fragrances. If there’s a synthetic touch, it’s too much for my taste. Would I buy it again? No, because I only repurchase scents that work for all seasons, and I see this as more for spring days or summer nights.
First day with this Afnan bomb. The opening is a sharp grapefruit, a bit synthetic, but the quality is surprising for the price. It doesn’t smell as artificial as other Arab scents, like CDN Intense. As it dries down, the citrus calms and leaves a clean musk with wood. It’s clearly a clone of Bvlgari Tygar, but with a more serious and mature vibe, ideal for those looking for something beyond the typical mall scent. Strong performance for the first two hours and it lasts a decent 7-8 hours on my skin. It’s not eternal, but for a citrus DNA, it performs above average. A good everyday perfume, for work or outings; it’s the kind of versatile scent that doesn’t bother anyone.
