Descripción
Kajal III by Kajal is an olfactive fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, this composition is signed by perfumer Kevin Mathys. In its opening, the fragrance unfolds a citrus effervescence with grapefruit, lemon zest, and a refreshing touch of lemon. The heart reveals a spicy and herbaceous harmony where ginger, rosemary, lavender, and neroli come into dialogue. Finally, the base settles on a warm and enveloping foundation of ambroxan, musk, patchouli, and amber.

This perfume is very pleasant to me. It has that citrus touch wrapped in an addictive, gourmet sweetness. I don’t know if you’re tempted to eat or drink it, because the scent reminds me of a soda or a caramel. It’s a homogeneous blend but with nuances. Patchouli is predominant with a touch of oud, giving it a masculine side, but the sweetness brings it closer to the feminine. The subtle amber with musk creates a balanced and deep whole. It keeps the opening notes for a while after drying down, but then the base remains. I loved it, and the quality is niche.
Smells like Thurati Blue.
I agree with the first review; this scent is addictive and has me head over heels. I own Tygar and I get the inspiration. Although I love Tygar, this perfume has something extremely pleasing. I don’t know what’s up with me; it’s the freshest, most delicious citrus I’ve ever tried. Niche quality, 8+ hour longevity, moderate sillage, and it lasts days on clothes. Anyway, my best purchase of the year. Thanks God I bought two bottles at once.
Tygar DNA? Absolutely. It’s also compared to Arrakis by Spirit of Kings, Vibrato by Sospiro, Thurati Blue by Afnan, and Aqua by Pana Dora, etc. All of them have a very similar opening that lingers. What makes Kajal III special is a more effervescent and sweet opening, drying down to a more aromatic and amber scent, whereas Tygar leans into a dry, fine wood. It lasts excellent for its price: max 6 hours with good projection in the first hour. It’s normal for citrus to claim 10-12 hours, but that makes me doubt. Would I buy it? NO, I already have Tygar, which is superior quality and would be redundant. If you don’t have Tygar and don’t want to spend what the gem costs, go for Kajal III; of all the ones mentioned, after Tygar, this is my favorite. You’ll be happy spending less cash.
As my colleagues say, it shares DNA with Tygar by Bulgari thanks to that grapefruit opening, but then it takes a different path: it turns amber and warm with barbershop notes from lavender and neroli, plus those green resinous touches of rosemary. The patchouli and musk give it a dusty vibe that Tygar lacks. Personally, it’s the one everyone tells me smells the best.

If you’re looking for a great alternative to this gem, try Al Qiam Silver by Lattafa.
If you’re in Spain, you have Spirit of Kings’ Arrakis, which smells almost identical and saves you 50€, plus it lasts longer. This fragrance was the one that drew me in most due to its scent and opening—it smells great—but on my skin it only lasts 2–4 hours. I was hoping for something with more Kajal; maybe it’s not for me, nothing convinces me 100%.
If you’re in Spain, Arrakis by Spirit of Kings is the nearly identical dupe that saves you €50 and lasts longer. The brand hooked me with its amazing opening, but on my skin it fades in just 2-4 hours. I was hoping for something like Kajal, but maybe it’s not for me; nothing convinces me 100%.
