Descripción

Truth For Men by Calvin Klein is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2002, this composition was created by Givaudan and Michel Almairac. The top notes unfold with basil, cardamom, and green leaves; the heart reveals fern and resins; while the base notes settle on red cedar, patchouli, and exotic woods.

I used this back in 2003 and it left a great impression. Smells rich, long-lasting, and refined.

I found it two years ago and I love fragrances with patchouli. It smells amazing, even though it’s not very well known. The longevity is moderate, but the trail is noticeable. You won’t be disappointed.

At first, freshly cut grass. A few minutes later, the musk comes through, probably from the blend of all the notes.

CK Truth is herbal and fresh. It gives the sensation of a recently pruned or watered garden. Very pleasant and fresh. I’m not sure if it smells exactly like the listed notes, but it evokes fields of grass and meadows: it smells green, very well made, and gives you energy. Few changes in its development; similar from start to finish, though at the end it feels more woody. Moderate to low projection, but unlike other opinions, on my skin it lasted nearly 12 hours close to the skin. Perfect for daytime use in spring and summer. The best part is that it’s very affordable and doesn’t smell as common as it used to. Suitable for any age.

  • Truth for Men by Calvin Klein is a herbal, fresh fragrance. It gives the sensation of being in a freshly pruned or watered garden—very pleasant and crisp. I’m not sure if it smells exactly like the listed notes, but everything it evokes for me is fields of grass, meadows, and herbs; it smells green and well-made, giving you an energy boost. I don’t notice many shifts in its development; it’s very similar from start to finish, though it feels slightly more woody at the end. Its projection is moderate to low, but unlike other reviews about its longevity, on my skin it lasted nearly 12 hours, even though it stayed close to the skin. It’s perfect for daytime wear in spring and summer; the best part is that it’s very affordable and doesn’t seem as common anymore. Suitable for any age.

At first, I sensed citrus and a bit of melon, briefly reminding me of Escape for Men. Then came synthetic aquatic middle notes. At 2 hours, the pepper intensified. At 6 hours, sandalwood with basil. At 12 hours, sandalwood with another weak wood, perhaps Japanese red cedar. Almost no patchouli. It’s a rare cross between aromatic aquatic and green, somewhat undefined. Trail is moderate to soft after hours; it lasted over 12 hours with the full sample (1.5 ml). Focused on spring, daytime, and informal use. I think it’s discontinued, and I’m sad about it. Only for Calvin Klein collectors.

At first, I detected some citrus and even a hint of melon, briefly reminding me of Escape for Men by the same house. However, afterward, the impression was of a fragrance with synthetic aquatic middle notes. After two hours, the pepper note kicked in, which I felt clearly. By six hours, I sensed the sandalwood with a touch of basil. At the twelve-hour mark, the sandalwood was still there with another faint wood, perhaps the famous Japanese red cedar. As for patchouli, in the styles I recognize, almost nothing. I found this fragrance to be a rare crossover between aromatic aquatic and green, but in reality, it’s quite undefined. Its trail goes from moderate to soft after a few hours, yet it lasted over 12 hours using the full sample. It’s geared toward spring, daytime, and informal wear. I think it’s discontinued and doesn’t offer enough to regret it. I see it only for Calvin Klein fragrance collectors.

It distills finesse: freshly cut grass mixed with a neutral fruit that seems like melon, plus lemon and fresh woods. Incredible. It’s not generic; there’s no other green aquatic fragrance like it. It doesn’t shout; it’s sober and elegant. As an olfactory garment, what makes it shine is the hanger—that is, how you project it. Daytime use, casual to relaxed semiformal.

  • I’ve changed my mind about Truth. It has the virtue of putting me in a good mood every time I wear it. It’s ethereal, very 2003. It shares a spirit with Kenzo Air: minimalist texture, subtle, vaporous. While Kenzo Air is blue sky, Truth is freshly cut, damp grass. Extremely positive, refreshing aroma with a metallic touch and soft violet. Words like green and aquatic describe it well but don’t exhaust it. Although it’s for heat, it works in any season. By concept, it’s discreet, aura-based, but with surprising longevity. Today, fortunately, it sells at a price that doesn’t match its quality.

  • I think it’s undervalued. Good for any age, refined, elegant, and natural on skin. Soft and pleasant, not generic. There was a hard time finding it, and I feared they’d discontinue it, but it’s back at an incredible price. For me, it’s strictly summer; in fall and winter, I prefer something woody. The safe bet is that it doesn’t bother anyone.

  • I expected it to smell like rain or wet earth as some reviews say, but I was disappointed. It’s herbal but not rainy, maybe slightly and confusingly so at the end. Half aquatic, half citrus, but very faint. Good for spring and summer, but also works in fall and winter if you apply half a bottle. It’s very weak and one-dimensional. Pleasant but boring; ideal for daily wear because it doesn’t bother anyone and is almost imperceptible. Casual, harmless, and unisex. It’s like an Eternity mixed with CK Free and Azzaro Chrome, all toned down. I expected more.

  • Herbal juice. It’s almost identical to Schlesser pour homme, but here there’s a zesty vigor that’s lost in the other. Truth for Men is a generic creation, unlike its female counterpart, an underrated masterpiece. Still, it’s not bad. It’s a burst of refreshing herbal sweetness—no crushed herbs, but vigorous, slightly artificial, wet notes with bubbly accents that give it speed. I can’t isolate the notes; it smells like orange juice without the orange, as if they stole the energetic aftertaste of freshly squeezed herbal, citrus, and wood accords. It doesn’t invent anything, but it’s punchy and perfect for summer. Poor sillage, good longevity. Costs two duros. I think I’m biased by my hatred of current men’s launches, which smell like dive bars and knock-offs. Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss, Carolina Herrera, Versace, Saint Laurent, and every Diesel under the sun. It takes guts for an eighty-euro perfume to smell as artificial as catalog fragrances from years ago. Maybe I’m just elevating scents that don’t deserve it. Truth for Men, when men’s colognes actually smelled like men, not flavored condoms.

  • It’s like herbal juice. Almost identical to Schlesser pour homme, but here there’s a zesty vigor that’s lost in the other. It’s a very common cologne, unlike its feminine version, which is an underrated work of art. It’s not bad: a sweet, herbal, refreshing burst. Not crushed herbs, but vigorous, slightly artificial, wet, and bubbly with a sense of speed. I can’t isolate the notes; it smells like orange juice without any orange, as if it stole the sparkling aftertaste of herbs, citrus, woods, and technical fabrics. It doesn’t invent anything, but it’s punchy and perfect for summer. Poor trail, good longevity. Costs two duros. Maybe my hatred for current men’s launches (which smell like cheap club colognes) is biasing me. Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss, Versace, and all the saints. It takes guts for an 80-euro perfume to smell as sticky as old-school colognes. Maybe I’m over-glowing fragrances that don’t deserve it. CK Truth is from when men smelled like men, not flavored condoms.

CK Truth brings back unforgettable memories. I used to wear it when courting my wife; I even gave her a teddy bear I’d sprayed with it and mailed from another city. I saw it at a perfumery, bought it for around 500 pesos. I told her to smell it, and she said it ‘smelled like a teddy bear.’ I was left with a ‘what?’ face. She was referring to the stuffed animal I’d gifted her 14 years prior. Some scents never change and stay etched in memory. Thanks, Calvin Klein, for this exquisite smell.

Valvin Klein Truth brings back unforgettable memories. I used to wear it when courting my wife. I gave her a teddy bear and sprayed this perfume on it, then mailed it to her while she was in another city. Recently, I saw her at a perfume shop and bought it for about $24, roughly 500 Mexican pesos. I got home, sprayed it on my inner arm, and told her to smell it. Her surprise was that she said, “It smells like the teddy bear.” I was left with a “What?” face. Then it clicked—it smelled like the perfume I’d sprayed on the bear I gifted her 14 years ago. Some scents never change and are never forgotten. This is one of them. Thank you, Calvin Klein, for this exquisite aroma.

  • Horripila

Great summer perfume. Fresh, not sweet, herbal, and doesn’t smell synthetic or annoying. It’s perfect right after a cold shower. After two hours, the trail is good, then it settles close to the skin for another two hours. Very similar to Zegna Uomo, but Kelvin feels more youthful and cool. What stands out most is its great price compared to what we’re used to, meaning the overpriced Ambroxan and other smelly synthetics. In Mexico, you can still find it in catalogs.

  • Horripila

Ideal for summer: fresh, not sweet, herbal, and without those irritating synthetics. Perfect right after a cold shower. Lasts about 2 hours on the trail, then fades to skin-only. Similar to Zegna Uomo, but younger and cooler. Great price compared to expensive synthetics. Still available in Mexico’s catalog.

  • Beatleboy1510

Bought it and was disappointed: the scent, trail, and longevity are all poor. Don’t buy it, don’t waste your money.

  • Maximum freshness, special for enjoying alone. I imagine what a bomb it was in its year of creation. A good choice if you love herbal, crisp, and fresh scents.

  • Beatleboy1510

Just bought it… a disappointment in scent, trail, and longevity… DO NOT BUY IT, don’t waste your money.

  • Green is the perfect definition for me, ideal for hot summer and spring days. It opens so fresh with a strong herbal note at first, then it calms down. Nothing dominates; the notes seem distinct but mixed exquisitely for something unique. I love that fresh scent that brings calm, combined with cardamom it’s an explosion.

  • It can never be missing; I always have two: one in use and one as a backup. Totally herbal. Excellent scent.

  • It’s a must-have; I’ve had it since 2002 and always look for it when I run out. Super refreshing, very green, opens fresh and dries down beautifully on the skin. The downside is that it doesn’t last long, but I love the scent.

  • Polperfumeman

Weak and poor longevity. I bought it out of curiosity and it disappointed me. The price is high for what it gives: a fresh and clean scent, nothing more. No trail, lasts a maximum of two hours. There are cheaper or similar options that project more and are more innovative.

  • Polperfumeman

Weak and poor longevity. I bought it out of curiosity and was hugely disappointed. The price is a bit high for what you get: a fresh, clean scent that doesn’t go further. No sillage, lasts a maximum of 2 hours, and that’s it. There are other options at a lower or similar price that project more and offer better innovation than CK Truth.

  • Like love at first sight, for me Truth is love at first sniff, and it lasts a lifetime. I fell in love in 2002 and haven’t been able to let it go since. It’s my favorite: sophisticated, fresh with green leaf notes, moderate trail and longevity that I don’t mind; I just apply more and keep enjoying it.

  • LycheGames

Not much to say, but it’s worth it. Fresh and energetic for a sunny day. If you’re looking for green that reminds you of that outdoor day with freshly cut grass, this is it. Smells delicious, with a sweet touch, total freshness, I love it.

  • At first, it smells like herbs and freshly cut grass, then you notice the basil. The trail is soft and doesn’t project much; it lasts about four hours, so you need to reapply to wear it all day. It’s cheap.

  • It’s not my signature scent, but it’s the only one I’d buy again. Beyond what others say, it’s nostalgic because my mother gave it to me over twenty years ago. The longevity is moderate, but if you’re not looking for something complex, you might like it.

  • I bought this in 2002. I smelled it on a colleague in an air-conditioned room and fell in love: green and clean. I didn’t use it for years, but I have a nearly empty bottle from 2014 and I’ve already opened another unopened one. It’s probably my favorite perfume: very fresh, gives you energy and well-being in the morning.
