Silver Scent by Jacques Bogart

Jacques Bogart Silver, Wow, what can I say? Of all my loud or party fragrances as we say here in Peru, it’s the one that’s generated the most compliments for me, along with Le Male and Lapidus Gold Extreme. In my opinion, it’s like an effervescent cocktail of lychee and grapes with Black Currant vodka liqueur and a splash of sparkling champagne… it projects like crazy, sticks to my skin like a leech… and to make it shorter, I wore it at a friend’s farewell where I left the house at 9:30 PM on Friday… so much excitement that we didn’t arrive until 3:30 PM on Sunday and the blessed Bogart Silver was still on my skin. Then in the car with the wind blowing through the window, the fragrance broke through again in a sillage almost half-low. In conclusion, we’re talking about a monster of projection, longevity, and compliments; more than 4 people, about 6 including my partner, had something to say about this fragrance… without being overpowering. About 20+ hours where the first 10-12 are projection from more to less without stopping the sillage. Then it dries down and leaves the lychee fruit, which by the way I love in cocktails along with aged orange blossom on skin or clothes. I recommend it. Oh, it’s a bit synthetic… here it’s not an apology for artisanal essential oils and maximum purity… it must have them and have chosen the basics well and precisely. Greetings.

It’s a performance beast. Projects like crazy and lasts forever—in fact, for my taste, it’s too much. It’s intrusive, and due to its somewhat synthetic scent, I find it hard to wear. But for the price… I haven’t had anything in my collection that projects and lasts this long. The smell is good; it has a base note that everything revolves around, reminiscent of Ted Lapidus’s Soul Imperial, but without that gourmand touch of coffee, vanilla, or leather. For going out at night, there’s no rival.

A real shame about reformulations and watery perfumes. This is a dramatic case, just like A*Men, Joop, and others. If you check the English reviews, they overwhelmingly vote it as a ‘heavy’ and ‘very long-lasting’ perfume, but they’re referring to the 2011 formula. The current one is watered-down compared to that. And so it goes with all of them. Still, it’s a rich perfume for those who like 212 VIP Men, 1 Million, or Halloween.

Huge perfume, great projection, ideal for a formal night out, a very masculine aromatic. Its longevity is incredible: I wore it yesterday at 7 pm and today it’s 1 pm and I can still smell it on me; it even prevented me from using my daytime scent with just 5 sprays. Totally recommended plus for the price. Quality like few others.

I regret the purchase due to the price. I got it for 17 euros, damn, what a delicious thing that lasts and projects like a demon. I’m really annoyed I bought many much more expensive fragrances that don’t perform even half as well as this. Honestly, it’s totally worth buying; grab it before they pull it from the market.

AROMA: VERY GOOD. PROJECTION: VERY GOOD. LONGEVITY: EXCELLENT. QUALITY: VERY GOOD. BLIND BUY: YES (8.5/10). ALTHOUGH ITS INTENSE VERSION IS MUCH BETTER, I RECOMMEND THIS AS A SECOND OPTION IF YOU CAN’T FIND THE INTENSE. IT’S A NIGHT PERFUME AND COMPLIMENT GENERATOR.

Does it last? A long time. Does it project? A ton. But the scent is artificial and not very pleasant. I don’t get why people recommend it for going out; maybe just for some decadent club for people over 50.

This delicious fragrance was brought to me by my mom from Paris, but wow, it has a delicious scent. It’s a beautiful aroma, sweet, warm, with good longevity. I hope to get it again someday. MiaSanMia.

Recommended for going out at night. That orange blossom note adds originality. I love this perfume; it’s one of my favorites.
