Ralph Lauren Blue by Ralph Lauren is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2005, this composition was created by David Apel and Pierre Negrin. The top notes unfold with gardenia, jasmine, lotus flower, valley lily, pink peony, grapefruit, and melon; the heart reveals neroli, orange blossom, basil, lemon verbena, and rose; while the base notes settle on musk, vetiver, oakmoss, suede, sandalwood, and amber.

  • Jasmine and jasmine… very good fragrance! I used it in 2005. Elegant and fresh, more of a summer scent, for women 25 and up. I recommend it, already discontinued for years.

  • Although it’s discontinued, yesterday I found a box with the 125 ml and the 40 ml at a local store. I wanted to try it, and in one word: memories! It gave me the exact sensation of entering my grandmother’s garden, where I lived as a child… a hanging garden of wisterias or ‘plume flowers’ as we call them here. A sweet aroma with a bitter base, very floral, and a slight jasmine. On my skin, I sensed a citrus base and a gardenia that gave it incredible longevity. I like fresh/floral scents with good projection like this. A lovely discovery. Greetings from Chile.

  • I had it and loved it until my cousin, whom I hung out with a lot, started using it. I stopped wearing it immediately. It has a super fresh summer scent. On my skin, it didn’t last long, but on my cousin, it lasted forever and suited her much better.

I don’t know… I don’t like it. It feels like an old lady’s perfume that gives me a headache.

  • It was my first serious perfume. I chose it in my last year of high school (2006) in Argentina for the graduation trip. My dad gave it to me. I tried several, but I was looking for a fresh jasmine, not sweet or powdery. This was the closest to what I wanted. Eleven years later, I still think the same. It’s one of the few I’ve run out of and had to buy again. My sister took it and used the whole bottle; I left it aside and then picked it back up. It lasts all day. I like everything about it: the opening, heart, and base. Especially when it settles. Today, I recognize green notes that work wonderfully. It’s a ‘mature’ perfume; it suits me better at 28 than at 18. I haven’t found another that handles jasmine as naturally.

  • I like jasmine, but this perfume doesn’t quite convince me, even though it’s floral. I bought a 125 ml bottle for my best friend; she went abroad, and I put it up for sale because it’s highly sought after. It’s a shame to have it sitting around.

  • I bought it because it smelled great on a friend… but on my skin, it smelled like insecticide. What a pity!

  • I agree with the previous comment: this is a fragrance where the jasmine shines naturally, as if you’re smelling a freshly cut flower. I fell in love with Blue at a perfumery and swapped my initial purchase for it; it smelled fresh and green the entire way home. It became one of my favorites because it conveys well-being and tranquility. It has a classic, vegetal, and clean style, like a jasmine surrounded by gardenias in a spring garden. After two hours, it becomes creamier with woody notes, but the jasmine always takes the lead. On me, it lasts 5 or 6 hours, with the last traces being skin scent. Although it’s discontinued, it can still be found in specialty stores. Recommended for lovers of classic florals.

  • I’ve had it for about 12 years and can’t seem to finish it. I bought it in a set with lotion, soap, a miniature, and 100 ml, and it’s still more than halfway used. I force myself to like it; when I put it on, I think, ‘If I like it, if I like it :'( although the truth is, it’s not my favorite or my style. I don’t take it out of my vanity because it’s part of my very small collection, but honestly, it’s somewhat of a masculine, woody scent. I’d say it’s unisex.

  • It’s good; great quality because the essence remains intact. Also, storing it in a cool, dark place helps, where it stays fresh for a long time between applications.

I’ve worn it since I was 17, and now I’m 30. I met it while working at a print shop when a girl walked in wearing this scent and I was obsessed, but being so shy at that age, I didn’t dare ask her what she was wearing, and when she left, I regretted it terribly. I spent days regretting it until, two or three weeks later, another client walked in with the same scent, and this time I wasn’t going to let it pass. She told me it was ‘Blue’ when I asked. I left work and went to the nearest perfumery, but to my disappointment, there were dozens of perfumes called BLUE. I spent DAYS going into different stores and trying on fragrances until I found it, and it became my signature scent. Everyone complimented it; my family and friends even copied it until it was discontinued because the ingredients are hard to source. That’s when my search for a perfume I loved like this began, and I became addicted to fragrances… I went from having just one to having several. Nowadays, you can still find it, but with difficulty, so I recommend that if you really like it, buy a backup (like I did; I have one in use and one stored away, haha). It’s delicate, feminine, fresh, and sweet, perfect for daytime in spring or summer. I don’t see it as seductive or for nighttime. It’s one of the most complimented in my collection, and for good reason. One of my all-time favorites.

  • I already have it, and it’s the first one I repurchase. It feels super feminine; I love the jasmine, and it has that fresh, softly sweet touch. Most perfumes don’t last long on my skin, but this one is an exception. It’s not excessively expensive, and although I sometimes let it sit for a bit so I don’t get overwhelmed (I’m quite inconsistent with my fragrances), I always come back to it and enjoy it immensely. I keep it in my purse when I go out because I don’t trust my skin chemistry, but I rarely need to reapply. For me, it’s simply delicious.

  • It’s the perfume I identify with the most. I already own three bottles. It’s the ideal balance of white florals—very elegant and discreet. It’s a scent that accompanies you without overpowering. Perfect for feeling comfortable and confident every day.

  • Exquisite white floral. Jasmine dominates; it’s very feminine, delicate, and soft. It’s an excellent fragrance; I feel it’s very versatile, blending elegance with informality. I really like it.

  • I loved it for summer: fresh, feminine, and dominated by jasmine. It’s attractive to men yet delicate at the same time. Unfortunately, on my skin (even when freshly applied), it doesn’t last more than a couple of hours, and for me, longevity is essential.

  • It’s a clean, elegant freshness with a floral aquatic vibe that suits me perfectly. While it’s more of a summer scent, I wear it in transitional seasons when it’s warm. The longevity on my skin is excellent, and the projection goes from strong to moderate. On my skin, the white florals and powdery notes really shine.

  • The best perfume I’ve ever smelled, and it’s getting harder and harder to find. What I love is the blend of citrus, maybe grapefruit, with white flowers like gardenia, orange blossom, and jasmine. It lasts more than 24 hours on my skin, and even after showering, it still lingers. The price is moderate; I paid 2,000 pesos for the 125 ml bottle, which is a great value. It’s been my favorite since college—oops, that was 20 years ago… I hope they don’t discontinue it. The one I have was bought in September 2020; I’d be heartbroken if I can’t find it in the future.

  • In Spain, it just passed without making much of an impression. Blue, or maybe because I think it’s discontinued, felt like a continuation of those ozonic, aquatic scents that dominated the mid-90s, which overused notes like lotus or melon. The difference is that it was infinitely better than those cloyingly sweet, unpleasant melons that flooded the market in lotions and body mists. Blue was beautiful. Yes, an aquatic floral with ozonic hints, a hazy, transparent veil of perfumed summer mist—nothing complicated, nothing memorable, but it smelled so good… Flashes of melon, in this case a woody one with spicy floral undertones, the green and slightly metallic, clean scent of muguet alongside the aquatic, soapy fat of a delicate lotus. The best part came when the base notes took over: the floral, with a transparent watercolor stroke, green and ozonic, transformed into a unisex woody musk where wood, suede, and especially a salty musk with hints of human skin, straw alpaca, and soybeans took the lead—a truly beautiful, sexually clean aroma. Blue made you think of something American, that placid, simple, natural vibe that characterizes US fashion. It lived in this blue bottle, something more than a standard aquatic floral, as it could have easily been sold in a green, blue, and brown water line. It made you imagine vast lawns, sheltered porches, summer rest, hammocks, lemonades, and summer swims in a river or pond. A beautiful perfume in its simple American style. If it were a song, it would be something by Fleetwood Mac or Hole, with soft rock vibes, 100% USA. I miss this family of clean, youthful floral scents so much, and this was a truly worthy representative.

One of my favorites, though right now it’s impossible to find in Argentina. The subtlety of the gardenia mixed with jasmine and the freshness of lemon verbena and basil makes it incredibly crisp. What’s special is how it adapts to everything: in summer it’s fresh, during the day it sparkles with the jasmine coming through, and at night it turns sensual with the musk and sandalwood notes. I don’t know why it feels so unique since those notes are common in many formulas, but in Blue, they resonate differently. I keep my empty bottles just to catch that lingering scent and not forget it. Hoping to get it soon. Edited: Finally managed to get it in my country; I’m so happy to have it back in my collection.

  • I love it and never owned it until now—my friends used to have it. Now that no one else is wearing it, I want to try it, but I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone know a good dupe? Is it available in Argentina? 🙏🏻🧚

  • locadelosperfumes

I absolutely love this perfume. A friend wore it, so I bought it, and I have zero regrets. I’ve already finished three bottles. It smells like a super fresh jasmine that transports me to a spring garden at sunset. Everyone compliments it; it’s gorgeous.

  • The neroli and orange blossom dominate this fragrance. If you love perfumes with those flowers, day or night, don’t hesitate. The RL Blue, when overworn on hot days, smells to me like very soft mothballs. Does anyone else experience this?

  • melissagrajeda16

I love it; it’s one of a kind. I’m desperate to find a good dupe or figure out where to get it in Mexico. If you see it, buy it—it’s highly recommended because nothing in the market smells anything like it.

  • It has zero projection, neither on me nor on anyone else, even though many of my friends own it and I’ve never smelled it on any of them. It just sticks right to the skin.

  • It was my first love and the first expensive perfume I bought at 14 or 15. All the girls in my class smelled like Ralph, and I hated it, but with this, I felt unique, powerful, and different; the guys loved it, but my mother thought it was disgusting—probably too mature for her. It’s a pure, hard white floral; after a few hours, it turns woody yet fresh, clean without being soapy, and a tiny bit sweet, never cloying. Now at 30, it suits me better, even if the impact isn’t what it used to be—I have an infinite love for it. It’s not discontinued like many believe; you can only buy it on the Ralph Lauren US website, and they ship only within the US. I took advantage of a trip to bring back two bottles. If you’re in Mexico, I saw it on Walmart’s online store, which is a pretty reliable marketplace.

There’s a store called EssenciasBW in Haeo; find them on Instagram. They make dupes, and the Blue comes out identical to the original.

  • Hi, I’ve been searching for this fragrance in Guatemala for years, but they tell me it’s discontinued.

  • It’s available in retail stores in Chile, as well as on Mercado Libre, but I’m already tired of buying blindly.

  • Good afternoon Susangra, I sent you a private message since I have that perfume in the 75ml version.

  • I love this perfume, unfortunately it’s discontinued. At least in Chile, you can’t find it anymore. Does anything similar exist? I’d appreciate recommendations.

  • Finally, I got to try this perfume. What can I say about the famous Blue? It seemed very nice, floral, and aquatic, but not sharp like others in the style. It’s soft, especially at first, then it settles into a very skin scent. At first, it reminded me of a cologne I wore when I was little, then I felt it was a softened, aquatic version of some J’adore flanker. It smells like a freshly showered woman. It’s lovely; the only thing is that in Argentina it’s way too expensive, but I ended up buying it because I snagged it on sale.

  • I have a huge conflict with this perfume because basically the reformulation ruined it. It’s a watery, more boring version of what it was when it first came out. When we used to wear it before, we’d flood the room with an incredible trail and divine projection. I fell in love the first time I smelled it on a colleague and spent several bottles between 2007 and 2010. When I got it back in 2021 or 2022, it wasn’t what I remembered. The old version wasn’t a fantasy, but the projection, trail, and richness were lost. Before, it was narcotic white flowers with an incredible woody base; now it’s something beautiful but simpler, flat, and less long-lasting. I left it in a trade-in once, but since my memory was stronger, I bought it again and was disappointed once more. I still have affection for it, but I miss the original version.

  • In heat, it tends to be very sharp and strong, at least on my pH. It performs better in cold climates. It’s a standout white floral; I don’t really detect the citrus or fruity sweetness, perhaps due to the amber and wood. Still, it’s good and gets compliments.

  • It’s amazing, a fresh bergamot bomb, perfect for summer. The only downside is that it doesn’t last long on my skin; after the initial notes, it becomes almost imperceptible.
