This perfume gives me a little fear; it never happens with anything else. I love the notes, but on my skin it’s a disaster I can’t stand. I don’t understand why; it’s a total love-hate contradiction, but that’s just life :/

Smells like a beach ball; the pineapple mixed with neroli gives it a sweet plastic toy touch, and even without salt, it smells slightly salty—it’s exactly like a beach ball.

In the 80s, Avon sold a trio of girls’ colognes in a triangular box: one pink, one blue, and one yellow. This smells like that (especially the yellow bottle), but more concentrated. All I detect are sweet, very diluted, sun-kissed neroli, followed by a fresh, aquatic, soft gardenia. For some dark magic, it gives off a vibe of a plastic doll or a beach ball… very pretty and nostalgic. Poupée is for carefree, warm days, though in intense heat (33°F+) it can become suffocating, smelling more like an “old doll” that’s a bit unpleasant. Ideal if you love extravagant niche scents; if you prefer your perfume to smell like perfume and not a memory, I don’t recommend it. Excellent longevity for such a light scent, 10+ hours, with moderate to low sillage.
