  • This is the second time I’ve used this sample they gave me. At first, it’s a bit scary, but with patience, once it dries down, it’s totally worth it. These are fragrances that take time to hook you. On my skin, the gardenia dominates everything. It should be called Estée Lauder Privé Gardenia & Tuberose. I absolutely love gardenia, whether in a garden or in perfume. I’ve felt great all day thanks to it: it’s like standing in a field of gardenias and jasmines, with a tuberose in my hair, wearing a white dress, barefoot, watering my legs and hands with drops of that scent. Some people don’t like the simplicity of flowers or find it reminds them of the end of life, but if living flowers give the best, there’s no simplicity—only beauty. I’ve enjoyed it more than expected.

The first thing I smelled was the church from my first communion: lilies, so many lilies. Then the gardenia kicks in and gets more powerful. It could be explosive, but it’s so natural it’s addictive. After two hours, the gardenia takes over. It reminds me a lot of Victorio & Lucchino’s Secret Gardenia, which isn’t quite as natural but is cheaper.

  • Tried it yesterday and it was amazing. I’m not usually into florals, but this one is intense, fresh, feminine, and full of energy—I’ve already added it to my wishlist. It’s an ode to white flowers, mixing that melancholy church vibe with the freedom of a fresh garden. On my skin, the gardenia and tuberose really shine, with neroli and jasmine in the background. It has a mystical atmosphere and a strength that deserves praise. 10/10 longevity, light sillage. If you’re passionate about floral olfactory journeys and romance, this is a must-try.

  • I tried this fragrance yesterday and I have to say, it was spectacular. Although I’m not one to look too closely at very floral perfumes, this intense, fresh, and energetic feminine scent is definitely what I’ll be adding to my wishlist. It’s an ode to white flowers that reminds me both of the somber smell of churches and of fresh gardens where freedom and harmony are enjoyed. The gardenia and tuberose notes are my favorites on my skin, along with neroli and jasmine. It’s a feminine perfume with a mystical atmosphere and strength worthy of praise. It has 10 hours of longevity on the skin and its trail is weightless. Highly recommended if you’re passionate about floral olfactory journeys and romantic atmospheres.

I’d been looking for this fragrance for two years, and I finally found it and bought it just yesterday; it’s exactly what I expected from it… good fixation, good trail, and what about longevity? Ugh, I wore it last night and I’m still smelling it this morning. I have to say it’s the best I’ve found with gardenias; it’s feminine yet intense. It’s a bouquet of white flowers that all smell the same, and you can’t tell which one is the most intense, because the scent of them all blends into one… it’s simply unique. The tuberoses peek out from time to time to remind me that the gardenia isn’t the only star. I give it an absolute 10 in every category.

Been hunting for this scent for two years and finally snagged it yesterday—what luck! It delivers 100% of what I expected: luxurious fixative and trail, beast-mode longevity. I wore it last night and it’s still going this morning. Best gardenia perfume I’ve ever tried: feminine yet intense, a bouquet of white blooms where you can’t tell which one dominates because they all blend into one perfect harmony. Unique. The tuberose peeks through occasionally to remind me it’s not the only star. 10/10 all around.

Perfumed elegance, from the bottle to the contents. Femininity that gives and takes, with magnificent longevity and a correct sillage. Thank you, Estée Lauder, for still doing things right, unlike other houses like Dior or YSL.

Neroli, neroli, and gardenia. The scent of my Seville in spring, after the procession of the Virgin during Holy Week. It’s the smell of Seville bottled as perfume. Absolutely crazy.

Gardenia is a flower I’ve always loved, and I spent years searching for a perfume that could capture a beautiful gardenia inside its bottle; Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is what comes closest to the elegant white and cream flower I have tattooed in my mind, with an exquisite, stunningly fine aroma. Upon spraying, the poetry of this perfume begins with a fleeting lilac, hand-in-hand with neroli, followed by a strong palo santo that announces the arrival of the gardenia with a bang—a majestic, striking, and graceful flower, beautifully blended with tuberose. That tuberose is fleshy, intense, and sumptuous; with all its power, it tries to overshadow the gardenia, and it really does try, but it ends up being just an attempt. The tuberose stays behind the majestic gardenia. The leaves of both flowers are there, crowning them and making them even more radiant. To cap off this spectacle, there’s the vanilla, perfectly playing its role in balancing the wild touch of these two fantastic flowers, giving them a silky tone that caresses the skin. I think this is the ideal perfume for a bride; it perfectly embodies an elegant woman with refined manners, overwhelming class, and impeccable cleanliness.

Gardenia has always fascinated me, and I’ve spent years searching for a perfume that captures it. This is closest to my idea of that creamy white flower, with a fine aroma. It starts with lilac and neroli, followed by a potent palo santo that announces the arrival of the majestic gardenia, well-blended with a fleshy, intense neroli that tries but fails to overshadow it. The leaves of both flowers crown the composition. It closes with vanilla that balances the wildness and adds a silky tone. Ideal for a bride, it embodies an elegant woman with refined manners and great class.

  • In one of the most iconic scenes in Cuban cinema—specifically in the film ‘Lucia,’ featuring one of the archipelago’s most important actresses—a fit of frenzy, passion, and madness led her to ask for a gardenia; I couldn’t get that scene out of my mind when I sprayed this beautiful perfume created by Firmenich’s noses on commission for Aerin Lauder to pay homage to her grandmother, Estee Lauder. The composition stems from the Private Collection line created in 1973 and is based on two of Estee Lauder’s favorite flowers: tuberose and gardenia. I must admit I’m not a fan of gardenia in perfumery (though I love the natural flower), nor am I a fan of white florals in general, but this perfume is so beautiful; it’s the most realistic interpretation of a gardenia I’ve ever tried. Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is an ode to white flowers; it smells like all of them, yet at the same time, it smells like pure, simple gardenia. It’s a very realistic, fairly linear perfume with excellent quality. This composition opens with a lilac accord, clean and green with a slight bitterness, quickly giving way to the core of the perfume: absolute gardenia, white and pure. The tuberoses are here only to reaffirm and cement her as the protagonist; they are present, but like all the white flowers in this composition (lily, orange blossom, jasmine, and I swear even butterfly pea), they unite into a single note that adorns and makes the gardenia more powerful. The jasmine, felt here as green alongside the neroli, shows us not just the flower but the gardenia plant itself with its half-open buds, green and fragrant stems and leaves, while bourbon vanilla adds the natural sweetness of the flower (don’t expect anything sweet, gourmand, or modern here). This is a legendary white floral that sublimates the white flower in its most beautiful and natural expression; it’s mature, elegant, and overflowing with class. I don’t see it as lacking despite its supposed simplicity, nor as youthful or casual.

  • I’m reminded of the scene in ‘Lucía’ where an actress demands a gardenia in a fit of passion; this scent brings that moment to mind. Created by Firmenich for Aerin Lauder in honor of her grandmother, it revives the 1973 anthology. Although I’m not a fan of gardenia in perfumes (I love the natural flower), this is the most realistic interpretation I’ve tried. It smells like pure, realistic, and linear gardenia with great quality. It opens with bitter lilac and green, then the absolute gardenia takes center stage, supported by neroli, lily, jasmine, and neroli that evoke the whole plant. Bourbon vanilla adds natural sweetness, nothing gourmand or modern. It’s a white floral legend, mature, elegant, and classy, without being youthful or casual.

An unprecedented floral masterpiece. It’s 70% gardenia and 30% neroli, with supporting notes adding body and depth to these stars. Elegant and refined, it delivers exactly what it promises. A must-have for pure floral lovers.
