Well, I bought it about two years ago and have a few things to say: the aroma feels very synthetic, but it doesn’t reach unpleasant levels. I believe the neroli among its notes is of good quality, which makes it more bearable. I stopped using it because it just didn’t quite fit my age (26). I decided to leave it at my parents’ house in case my dad wanted to use it… It might cause a slight headache in the immediate moments after spraying, due to the synthetic notes and mint… but the intermediate and long drydown is quite rich. Longevity is surprisingly decent for an eau fraîche… around 3-4 hours, though with very soft sillage. All in all, a fairly standard citrus/marine, masculine, and economical fragrance, I remember getting it for around €20 on sale. Not bad for a summer morning having a drink on a bar terrace, just make sure to bring it to reapply or it won’t last.

A very fresh and potent neroli with a spicy ginger touch that gives it character. A nice, good, and affordable fragrance if you like neroli. I see it as perfect for relaxed evening wear in summer.

I own both Pedro del Hierro scents, the classic ‘For Men’ and this ‘Eau Fraîche’. Here, the fragrance is less woody than the original but shares a very similar profile, just less deep. It opens with a sparkling citrus burst of grapefruit that holds up well thanks to the ginger, which adds a spicy kick. I struggle to pick up the mint directly, though it might be part of that fleeting freshness you notice. The drydown is vetiver with musk, mixed with the fresh ginger and the sweetness of mandarin and neroli. Overall, very soft. It’s a pleasant fragrance that feels a bit serious to me, but not as much as the original; it’s more sporty. The sillage is also smaller. I find it very versatile: office, strolling, or meeting friends. It suits both a t-shirt and a button-down equally well. I see it as ideal for when it’s already getting hot. Nothing groundbreaking or trying to be, but it projects a well-made image. There are less original and much more expensive options out there, but another standout point, like the classic version, is the price. The value is really great (I bought it for €23.95). That said, if you already have the regular version, which I think is magnificent and also fresh, I’d say there’s no need to get this as a dupe. If you don’t own either and find it at a good price (I suspect it might be discontinued), it’s a great option. Beyond the scent, the bottle isn’t a masterpiece of daring design, but I think it’s very pretty. It’s heavy, and the chrome nameplate, along with the chrome magnetic cap topped with a mother-of-pearl ‘button’, looks very elegant and clean.
