Paragon by Initio Parfums Prives

The opening of Paragon is a herbal aromatic blast charged with well-being: lavender, bergamot, and that fruity sweetness of plum create a luxury spa sensation that invites you to close your eyes and take a deep breath. The first thought is usually: ‘What a delicious fragrance… but will it be for me?’. That judgment dissipates in minutes. As it develops, Paragon becomes a sophisticated aura: creamy white woods, polished sandalwood, and a subtle dark wood embrace the skin, granting silent luxury, inner calm, and absolute cleanliness. It smells impeccable: refined and elegant presence without showing off. It evokes a man who doesn’t need to draw attention to have it; attention comes on its own through his correct demeanor, his dressing sense, and his charisma when speaking. Paragon is his aura. The fragrance of the best version of oneself that inspires others to be that ideal. As the hours pass, it accompanies with a creamy, ethereal sandalwood, lavender breezes, and a sweet trail of plum. Up close, a gentle oud reveals subtlety and character. At the end of this sensory journey, those closed eyelids that discovered the beautiful aroma of Paragon suddenly smile, and you correct your idea: ‘I should wear this forever’. Ratings: Feels niche from the first spray: clear, creamy, and excellent quality notes. Scent: 9/10. Originality: 9/10 (Authentic scent for men). Projection: Moderate-High. Longevity: Approx. 8 hours. Time of use: Autumn, Winter, Spring. Day and Night. Would not use it in extreme heat. Occasions: Very versatile, formal, informal, dates, events, work. You can leave a very memorable scent if you’re a man.

Paragon feels very aromatic, woody, creamy, and spicy. It has an opening note that stands out above all else and is present from start to finish; I’m not familiar with it and haven’t smelled anything similar, so I suspect it’s palo santo. I loved it so much and think that’s where the magic lies: it’s a versatile scent everyone will like, but with a differentiating touch that makes it unique. It’s hard to describe, but it’s aromatic and quite creamy; the first time I smelled it, it gave me a vibe of its sibling Rehab from the same line—clear similarities in the dry down, but the final result is distinct. Very usable day and night, in cold and heat (though I haven’t tested it in extreme heat, I suspect it will work in summer due to its freshness, although maybe not at 35 degrees in direct sun; at night, it’s a great option). It suits any occasion, formal or informal, with classic touches updated for modern perfumery, so I think it’s very wearable by a wide range of people. It’s one of those perfumes, like Rehab and Musk Therapy, that makes you feel good and chill. Longevity and performance are top-notch for the house; not a beast mode, but the performance is very good.

I tried it fresh out of the oven at the Paris boutique, and although I liked it, I wasn’t smitten at first; in the capital, everyone ends the day with their nose overloaded, wearing four or five perfumes, and that’s fatal for the olfactory system, even with two or three. I was gifted a sample, but I didn’t have time or a place until two years ago, and when I tried it again, it was love at first sniff. To my nose, it’s a super soft mattress, a cloud of cotton infused with white woods and slightly fruity notes. It’s creamy, it wraps around you, and sometimes reminds me of the taste of unsweetened apricot jam; everything is super fluffy, woody, soft, and delicious. I need this.

Incredible fragrance. I got a sample and absolutely loved it; it puts you in a happy, cozy, warm state, like being under the sheets on a cold day. It’s sweet with an incense orientation, I notice a blend of sage and plum. There’s a note that lingers and attracts; I don’t know how to explain it. I feel it works for any occasion; it doesn’t overwhelm or bother with strength, but you can smell it from almost 2 meters away. Delicious aroma; I hope to try the other two from the collection soon. The prices are high, but they offer 10ml and 7.5ml bottles at a good value; better to test in stores or during campaigns before ordering by mail.

It’s a perfume that transitions from a feminine touch to a masculine one, totally unisex, with a base somewhat similar to its sibling Atomic Rose; they must share an ingredient to my nose. Good performance and projection.

I tried it as a sample and liked it; it’s unisex but leans more masculine. On me, the sage really stands out, so it feels green yet sweet, maybe due to the plum. Then the woods come through, and I detect a hint of incense. When I sprayed it, it reminded me of Amouage’s Sunshine—not the same, but that was the mental image. I think it’s wearable year-round and lasts about 7 hours.

Beautiful perfume. The notes play off each other beautifully. It’s a characterful fragrance, a delight that deserves much applause; such an elegant, soft yet imposing sweetness, it’s one of the best from Initio. I’d wear it more during the day, and it can be used in both cold and heat, adapting to any occasion. It’s exquisite.

Spectacular and fruity fragrance from Initio. Opens very fruity with the plum and moves to palo santo, leaving a creamy finish. It’s made to please everyone, it’s among the best fruity scents I’ve ever smelled. A little sweet but balanced, not cloying, you’ll want to smell it all the time. 10/10
