Olympea Legend by Rabanne

This perfume is very polarizing. I bought a decant, and the first time I smelled it, I only felt the salt note, which generated instant rejection (I still didn’t know the original Olympéa). Months passed, then after having and loving the original Olympéa EDP, I decided to give it another chance (now in autumn), and I have to say I don’t feel that salt note as strongly anymore (though it’s present), but rather a hyper-sweet and cloying plum syrup; I even feel it’s liquorish and somewhat sticky, like a pot of plum preserves. I still don’t like it unfortunately because it’s so sweet and potent that it makes me dizzy and gives me a headache. From my point of view, it’s only suitable for those who like excessively sweet perfumes, and definitely not something to buy blindly… Heavy trail and on my skin it lasts 10/12 hours, performance well above average (with few sprays) and highly recommended in that sense, but my nose can’t stand that overripe plum note nor how sweet it is.

It’s a super potent fragrance with great longevity. On my skin, the salt and vanilla notes really shine through, creating a distinctive scent I’ve never tried before. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, it’s one of the richest scents I’ve ever experienced. Men have complimented it a lot; it seems to have a noticeable effect on them. Just be careful with the sprays; I overdid it once and I think it bothered some people. The scent got stronger over time, probably due to maceration, so it can be overwhelming—very sweet and powerful. DO NOT BUY BLINDLY. What a pity it’s discontinued, but I managed to grab two bottles after it was removed from my country. I would keep buying it; I want to have it with me for years.

Its trendy friend (ZENZ, FRAICHE, etc.) has finally arrived. Of the few originals I own, unfortunately, I can’t stand it 😩😭. I have both, the original and the Fraiche trend version, and they are identical, so I can’t stand either 😣. The original smells like rotten dulce de leche, a spoiled caramel. Why? I identified that sloe usually doesn’t suit me, but the combination of sloe and plum is the most unpleasant smell for my nose, the smell of death 💀. I can’t tolerate it; it’s repulsive. I realized this because another perfume loved by the community that I can’t stand is Hypnotic Poison, which also has this deadly mix. Definitely not for me; I regret buying it and you shouldn’t buy it blind, not for anything!

A perfume that draws a lot of attention, with a rare contrast (increasingly common even in niche and classics) of sweet vanilla and salt. That mix of contradictory sensations works. I’m glad the salty note in Legend isn’t that cliché of seaweed, rotting wood, or sea cucumber that I hate so much. I wear it when I don’t care about leaving a sticky, sparkling trail, just to feel my instinct without thinking. It marks a key moment in my life; even if it’s not my signature, I clearly remember wearing it with intention. It’s the perfume of a powerful woman who doesn’t need a suit to command respect; she can wear pink or flowers and still be magnetic and unsettling.

I bought it blind and hated it. I thought it would be gourmand or sweet, but nope! First, it smelled like old lady, then that salty or sandy note ruined it for me. It also smells like alcohol, even though I’ve had it for four months. The good thing is that many people have complimented it and it lasts days (approx 2 or 3), with a powerful trail; two sprays are enough. I only wear it because others like it, but I don’t much. Since it doesn’t convince me, I try mixing it with sweet creams or perfumes I actually like. Does anyone suggest a body splash or perfume to blend it with?

On my skin, plum and vanilla dominate, and I sense an undeclared chocolate. The salty touch is very strong. It’s rich; I bought it blind, risking it because I don’t think everyone will like it. I’m not sure if it’s my imagination, but I applied it a week ago after showering and I still feel a breeze. The longevity is out of this world; it’s delicious and ideal for cold climates. With 4 sprays, I last all day… be careful with the amount, it lasts a long time. If you don’t like sweets, this can be cloying.

I remembered how beautiful this perfume is until I found it on a reliable website; it was the last one and I didn’t hesitate to buy it. Today I opened it to go to work in this cold autumn, and what a treat to feel cozy with a good perfume like Olympéa Legend ❤️ It transports me to a paradisiacal beach in the desert, with hot sand. Wearing it makes you feel like a goddess. What a pity it’s no longer available anywhere; I want it with me always. It’s everything I ask for in a good perfume. I love it 💕

It was my signature for 3 years, very different from the classic, a 360-degree turn. It’s warm, sweet but not cloying, though quite strong; it bothers sensitive people but it’s a miracle for lovers of potent perfumes. It stays on my skin and clothes for hours. They discontinued it last year, and it was the worst; I barely noticed and bought a 100ml bottle for special occasions. It’s halfway gone and I don’t want to finish it; I hope to find something that makes me fall in love again 💔.

When I first bought it, I didn’t like it; the scent sounded strange to me. I left it forgotten for months, and when I returned to using it, it was the most flattering I’ve ever had. I’m running out of the bottle and I’m sad about it. To me, it smells like a heavy vanilla dessert with salty chocolate and caramel, but it has something repelling, as if the plum is very ripe, almost spoiled. The longevity and sillage are a bomb, even on cotton fabric skin.

This perfume was spectacular, simply perfect. It hurts me that it’s discontinued; it would be ideal to always have one. Very sweet at first, super fruity, pure plum. Then comes that delicious vanilla that lingers on the skin until you shower. Very potent, two sprays are enough. Its aroma seemed very original to me. It’s a love-hate perfume. I’d say it’s the one that got me the most compliments; it was very noticeable. I miss it so much!

Rich and intoxicating scent that brings me back to Scandal, not because of the notes but for that sweet potency. Smells like sugared vanilla with super sweet fruit like peach, and the amber is there and great. But since it’s so strong, it’s only for winter, or you’ll get dizzy. Youthful style, playful, and full of energy. If you like it super sweet and a heavy trail, go for it.

So gourmand and realistic that I imagine a plum jam, sloe, and vanilla cake coming out of the oven. It’s semi-warm and sweet without being cloying, ideal for temperate climates. It’s cozy and intimate because on my skin it doesn’t last, but on clothes, it’s something else… There’s something that doesn’t quite convince me, so I wouldn’t buy it again. 7/10

What hurts is that this perfume is no longer sold, and I truly love it. It’s dark, sexy, and incredibly enveloping. I have my last bottle and I barely use it because I know I won’t find it again. It’s extremely potent and has only gotten more intense over time. People love it and hate it equally, haha. For me, it’s a total masterpiece.

I smelled it on a colleague and thought it was great, but on my skin it smells like Tetra Pak wine (Argentinians will get the joke xD). I guess it’s the plum note. I already own the classic Olympea and Flora, and both suit me well. This flanker isn’t for me. I recommend testing on skin before buying.

This perfume has the Olympea DNA; I feel that salt I hate so much. It’s fruity, salty, solar, and sweet, weird… it’s a plum tart with salt. That salt is unbearable to me; I hate the note, and even if I feel it a little, I feel it triple. It’s a good perfume, intense, but it’s not for me.
