Starts strong with patchouli and honeyed cherries, staying linear for a good while. As it dries, the pistachio adds a green sweetness that blends beautifully with a velvety tobacco base, softened by cashmere and sandalwood. It’s a bold, potent fragrance with great longevity and projection. Perfect for smoky environments and totally unisex. You can see and smell its launch era in Oblique Rewind; I’m fascinated by the bottle. I have the original box with the two interchangeable capsules and the case, all very early 2000s. It’s a shame it’s no longer available; I think with a different concept and packaging, it would have huge appeal today among Black Orchid or Angel fans. When I bought it, I stumbled upon the full Oblique family, but Play and Fast Forward were heavily damaged. Rewind is still in perfect condition, though it might have lost a bit of punch in the top notes.
