  Tried it in the store yesterday. Smells like vanilla cake, if such a thing exists. Clearly gourmand, but strangely, I liked it. It’s not dense or suffocating. As its name suggests, it’s a luminous and clear vanilla, despite being sugary. I only sprayed it once, so I don’t know how much I’d change my mind if it wasn’t heavy. Longevity is quite good: I applied it in the morning and could still smell it by mid-afternoon.

  Pity, such a pity. I bought this cologne water because I can’t resist limited Christmas editions, but it’s the one that lasts the least and they’ve raised the price. I liked its scent much more than My Vainilla Garden, which is different; that one had sweet orange peel and blackberries. Here, there’s just vanilla with a sandalwood base similar to Quelques notes d’amour—wood with sweet fruits, minus the rose. I think I’ll give it a chance and let it macerate for a few months to see if the concentration improves, since it claims to be soft because it’s vegan and organic.

  Every year they launch more expensive vanillas with worse performance. My Shiny Vainilla is basic and linear: starts fruity and ends with plush bakery vanilla. I don’t detect the sandalwood on my skin at all. Today I sprayed two on each wrist, and by the time I got home, it was completely gone. Smells delicious but doesn’t last an hour! Maybe you need to soak in it or let it macerate. Perhaps it works on clothes, but not on skin. Vainille Bourbon lasted longer, cost less, and was better. What a rip-off! Better to get the vanilla shot from the grocery store: more nuances, better longevity, and four times cheaper.

  Super linear and soft vanilla, almost artificial to the point of being boring. Lasting power on skin is non-existent. Smells identical to Jafra’s Sweetie, which I already tried and didn’t like.
