I love this vanilla; it’s very rich and not cloying. It was love at first sniff because I love sweet perfumes. It’s true that it’s not innovative, but if you’re a vanilla lover, you’ll definitely like it. It doesn’t feel as similar to Cloud (though you can feel the DNA). If you’re looking for something innovative or don’t like sweets, better to try it before buying.
This is my first Ariana perfume, and I was impressed by how similar it is to Baccarat Rouge 540 but with vanilla as the star, hence the name, haha. I had no expectations regarding longevity and sillage, but with 4 sprays, it leaves a good trail. I applied it to my leather jacket and it lasted about 3 days; I was fascinated. I consider it unisex—not too sweet to be ‘feminine’ nor too masculine. Scent 10/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 100/10, Price 9/10.
It smells delicious; I’ve been looking for a long time for a perfume that smells like a vanilla cupcake. The only downside is that over time it ‘oxidizes’ and leaves a masculine perfume scent. If it smelled like a cupcake all the time, it would be perfect.
It’s a very rich scent where vanilla dominates with the sweetness of praline and a noticeable plum. The problem is its longevity and sillage; after three hours, it’s barely perceptible. Given the price available in Chile, I don’t think it’s worth it.
Delicious, soft, and tasty.
This is the most addictive perfume I’ve ever owned; I love vanilla and sweetness. It reminds me of real ice cream, and I can’t stop smelling my wrist. DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE ADDICTED AND IN DEBT—I love it with all my heart and am searching for a dupe in Argentina because I can’t find it here; I bought it in Chile. The longevity is excellent; I sprayed it in the afternoon and could still smell it the next day.
I absolutely adore this perfume. The opening is totally Cheirosa 40, then it settles into a sweet, creamy musk. It’s the only one I want to wear to bed; after a shower, with clean sheets and a fresh bed, this delicious, relaxing scent is like a little vanilla ice cream. It’s sweet from start to finish. It shares something with Silky Woods by Goldfield & Banks that makes them feel like family: Mod Vanilla is cute and sweet, while Silky Woods is mysterious. It makes me happy, changes my mood, and makes me feel hugged.
Zero and Van 2 smells like room spray—very artificial and annoying. It shares DNA with Rouge Baccarat and Cloud, but this one has that burnt vanilla note that smells like brand-new doll plastic. I think it’s ideal for preteens in transition, not for adult women. It smells like low-quality vanilla ice cream.
It’s very pleasant, tasty, and sweet without being cloying or overwhelming. It’s reminiscent of VS’s Bare Vanilla and has a touch of Burberry’s Goddess, but more citrusy. It’s one of my recent favorites, with good longevity about 6 hours on skin and much longer on clothes and hair. If you like vanilla, you’ll love it.
I absolutely love it; it’s a creamy, delicious vanilla. It’s very similar to Cloud, but to me it feels more playful. It’s not for formal events, but perfect for the office or hanging out with friends. Personally, I don’t detect the plum note, which makes it ideal for those moments.
When I tested it, I hesitated a bit because I expected a potent vanilla that would dominate everything, but it’s not like that. It’s a clean, slightly sweet perfume with a soft vanilla note, simply delicious. I love it 🤎; it’s very versatile and doesn’t smell synthetic anywhere. When I wear it, I’m constantly smelling my wrist, and I get waves of fragrance when I move, and I love that. One comment says it’s so ‘cozy’ it feels like a little cloud, and that’s a perfect description.
If you like this fragrance, try Cotton Aged by Mamlakat al Oud (not listed on Fragrantica). It’s very similar to Ariana Grande’s Mod but with better longevity and a lower price. Comparison with its Arab dupe is on my TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube profiles @probadoaprobado.
After using up almost half the bottle, I’m clear that I won’t buy it again. It’s a good perfume with the notes I was looking for, but unfortunately, I only detect the plum and little else, which doesn’t drive me crazy. When it dries down, I can barely perceive ‘something’ of vanilla or cocoa butter, but with a lot of effort. It’s a pity; I wish I liked it more. To those who say it smells like vanilla ice cream, you’re lucky 🙂
I first tested the Fraiche version and thought it would be similar. In that version, the vanilla is very prominent and is the only thing left when it dries down: literally a pastry. With Mod, I was surprised; it’s a less aggressive Cloud. I was a bit disappointed because I loved Cloud and then hated it; smelling that similar DNA again brought back horrible memories, haha. For me, it’s an improved version of Cloud. It’s a fresh vanilla, not the common aggressive one, and not very prominent. I’d consider it basic for daily use. Perfect for starting a collection or getting to know fragrances. If you like Cloud, you’ll probably like Mod Vanilla. 8/10.
Another one that reminds me of Cloud… aren’t they a bit tired? The worst part is that everyone’s favorite is Cloud, Ari, or the ‘new’ Mod, after all, they’re almost all the same.
It smells like Cloud but with baby powder, the kind people actually like, not the kind that’s cloying.
I bought a sample to test it at home. I was surprised; I expected something sweeter and cloyer, but it’s not like that. It smells quite concentrated to me, like when you add vanilla extract to make chocolate cupcakes. If you like that scent, it’s fantastic, though for me it’s a bit ‘dark’. My boyfriend finds it discreet and pleasant, but he feels it lacks an exotic touch to have more charisma. He gave it a 7.5 🥸.
It’s my absolute favorite. A sweet, warm, and clean vanilla with a touch of chocolate that isn’t cloying. At first, it smells like cotton candy, but then it settles into pure vanilla. Sometimes it has a slight masculine scent, making it perfect for unisex wear. It lasts 5-7 hours with moderate projection. It’s similar to Cloud but warmer and more vanilla-forward. Very versatile for all seasons. A 10/10; I’d buy it a thousand times.
I’m one of those people who get headaches from very sweet fragrances. I had this in my ‘want to try’ list but wouldn’t have bought it blindly. I went to test Cloud Pink, but I asked to try Mod Vanilla instead, and what a surprise! I didn’t expect to like it so much. I feel like I’m in a cloud. It’s a soft sweetness, nothing aggressive, and I absolutely LOVE it. I don’t know about longevity since I just bought it today, but it’s very versatile for any occasion. It will probably be my personal scent, right? For fall/winter? Definitely.
OMGG, thanks queen Ari for this masterpiece 🍦🍨🤍. I used to hate vanilla because of the cloying, chocolate-heavy gourmand perfumes I tried. Mod Vanilla breaks the stereotype of childish vanilla; it’s super clean, fresh, and floral 🫧, not cloying at all, and suitable for any weather. It’s ideal as a signature scent. It smells like milky vanilla, like a McDonald’s ice cream cone. It’s the cousin of Cloud without the whipped cream and coconut notes. I love the minimalist and clean packaging, though the cap sometimes comes loose. It lasts about 6 hours with moderate sillage. I’d buy it a thousand times again.
For me, I didn’t like this one. It’s a perfume very similar to Cloud Blue; it comes out very alcoholic with that cotton candy note, until it dries down and starts reminding you of the others from the same house. They could have made the cloud another color because it’s more of the same. The bottle shape looks like a cloud or a stone, who knows? I could say it’s unisex because it’s not very feminine.
Hi!, here’s your friend who reviews against the grain and stays original. I’m just here to update my previous review. Having 13 empty bottles of this fragrance in original and about 10 different dupes (Zenz, Fraiche, and Aromas de Paris), it’s leaving my collection after being my favorite fragrance for a year. But… why? Just like everything in life changes, so do tastes. I haven’t stopped being a vanilla lover, however, I’m the type of person who doesn’t like smelling like everyone else; it drives me crazy. There’s nothing I hate more and tolerate less than monotony, which includes perfumes. Unfortunately, in my country, Mexico, and here in Mexico City, Cloud, Cloud Pink, and this particular one, Mod Vanilla, are what ALL the girls here smell like. It’s what the public transport smells like at 30 degrees in this horrible heat, trapped and unable to move. Unfortunately, I’ve developed a real hatred and disgust for that very reason. I’ve had to get off public transport more than once during rush hour because I was so nauseous from those perfumes. It’s very sad, but that’s how it is. There’s a girl I admire a lot, a YouTuber named Chica Vainilla, she and I have very similar perfume tastes; she loved this perfume just as much as I did, but when she reviewed it on YouTube, it triggered a massive wave of people using it. That’s all, I’m signing off with love and sadness from this lovely scent that now, when I smell it, upsets my stomach. With so much hype, it killed all the love I had for it. Goodbye forever, Mod Vanilla 🙁
I love it, I feel it works well for any occasion and season, sweet, vanilla-forward, simply delicious 😍
Honestly, I don’t feel that vanilla is the dominant note in this perfume. I get a VERY fruity and SWEET opening, yes, but not vanilla. By the end, like two hours after applying it, when it’s almost imperceptible, it smells a little bit of vanilla, but literally it’s just skin scent. It is a very feminine perfume and a bit childish due to its sweetness, but I don’t feel it resembles Cloud that much. I don’t think it’s worth it because of its zero longevity. I see someone wearing it in spring, even in summer if you’re feeling daring or love fruity scents. It’s a perfume you need to reapply constantly if you want others to smell it. If you’re looking for something cloying, this is it, but if you want others to notice it, I recommend not buying it because you might be disappointed. 100% Ariana Grande DNA, but nothing more; I prefer Cloud. I feel it evolves better and the scent it leaves on the skin is much nicer. Although, thinking about it, if what you don’t like about Cloud is its lavender opening, this is your option.
Personally, I don’t smell the vanilla everyone talks about. In fact, I get a lot of fruity aroma and something mentholated. It just doesn’t end up being my thing.
It smells like a vanilla, cocoa, and praline ice cream cone, very creamy, like those tiny, expensive tubs, with juicy pieces of plum. To me, that’s exactly what it smells like. It’s sweet, but not a sugar bomb; I think it stays subtly elegant. It smells like a pretty girl and very feminine.
Horrible. I don’t understand the hype. I tested it when it arrived and immediately gave it away. It feels sharp, I think the plum is doing it. It upsets my stomach. A perfume with little class.
Vanilla, one of my favorite notes. At first, you get the plum and floral hints, but it quickly turns sweet. Out of my Ariana perfumes (Cloud and Thank U, Next), this is the most gourmand. As it dries down, a caramelized touch emerges from the praline, which, in simple terms, reminds me of sweet popcorn. It has great longevity and a moderate trail; I can still smell the vanilla on my clothes days later. It’s delicious, reminiscent of vanilla bimbolets. I love it.
Personally, I love it so much. I perceive it as static; it really doesn’t transform much on me. From the start, I smell a lot of cocoa and praline; I can’t quite distinguish the vanilla itself, but it’s so delightfully sweet that I assume that’s why. That said, I don’t smell any fruit at all. Reading comments that say it’s like Cloud, on my nose, there’s nothing alike—they are VERY DIFFERENT. Even Cloud doesn’t smell as good to me, and I feel it’s more masculine, haha. So if you feel the same, don’t worry, they don’t resemble each other at all. I bought it blind and loved it 100%. I really like sweet gourmand scents, and I feel this perfume is a bit more airy.
Oh no, I actually liked it, haha. I’m coming back to rewrite my review because I was way too harsh. If it reminds you of Cloud, I’ll stick with that comparison—it’s very similar, but this one is more feminine, creamier, silkier, and above all sweeter and more vanilla-forward, without those dirty notes found in Cloud. It’s softer, but I mean sweeter and kinder; whether it’s weak or strong depends on how many sprays you use, so I can’t comment on longevity. The trail is gorgeous, woody, magical, and sweeter than Cloud’s. I don’t like that it feels a bit flat, but it’s a very comfortable scent.
I was never a fan of celebrity perfumes due to performance and lack of novelty, until I tried Thank U Next and surrendered to that sweet pear taken to the limit with macaron and creamy coconut. That’s why I bought more Ariana, but the same didn’t happen with the others. I heard Mod Vanilla so many times on social media that it was exquisite and I didn’t hesitate; I saw the notes and thought it was impossible for it to smell bad. But tastes vary and it disappointed me: it smells like something I’ve heard 100 times and, although it has vanilla, I never liked it and I detect it everywhere. It’s an unoriginal trend without identity. It smells like Cloud, Cloud smells like Baccarat Rouge, and Baccarat has at least 30 dupes. That trendy scent that everyone likes never convinced me; it has something weird, an awkward imbalance, like a song with poorly tested arrangements. At first it was different, but now it’s a generic smell even though it has its niche version. I love the broken-down notes, I bought it blind and I shouldn’t have, but some people like taking risks. One positive thing to say: my tastes don’t represent everyone, most people like it and that’s fine. In the dry down a creamy caramel appears that I feel in a thousand perfumes, the base of many, especially from Ariana, with a touch of coconut. It lasts a lot, but try it first. There are a thousand better alternatives for the value that would make you happier.
I ran out of it years ago, but I loved it. The only thing is that on my skin it didn’t have much longevity.
I’ve smelled this perfume three times on my skin. It’s not too sweet, which I appreciate, but the vanilla feels very synthetic, not rich, though pleasant. It doesn’t resemble Cloud; this is musky vanilla, while Cloud is whipped cream with woody notes. It lasts a long time on skin, doesn’t project anything, but stays until the next day, perfect for something intimate. Over time, the synthetic vanilla disappears to give way to musk, cocoa, and praline, a comforting and cozy sensation. Keep in mind that it’s an intimate fragrance, not one for others to notice.
It’s useful, it’s sweet, and has that famous note, but it still has that uncomfortable lavender, almost mentholated. In the dry down it reminded me a lot of Khamra by Lattafa, way too much. It was rich like that one, but it still made me feel sickened. I tested it on my elbow and dirty, old, sweet bursts kept coming at me. Although I used to like their woods, I ended up hating it and preferred Blush, which is more feminine, clean, and wearable. When it dries out completely the next day, it leaves a woody and vanilla scent like Cloud, lacking the annoying notes. If it were for that dry down I would love it, but it really only lingers residually the next day, a tragedy.
Has anyone tried the Pink (Victoria’s Secret) ‘Cozy Sugar’ Body Mist? It smells identical. Supposedly it’s marshmallow and vanilla, but nothing like that; it smells like those mint and vanilla candies. It doesn’t smell bad, but I don’t love it, it’s a bit overwhelming and dizzying. The only good thing: it has good sillage and long-lasting longevity.
It smells super similar to Bare Vanilla by VS. I use the body cream to complement that fruity and clean base, and since the Mod Vanilla Mist hasn’t arrived in Mexico yet, I pair it with Bare Vanilla. I feel like this vanilla is more pleasant, clean, and fruity, nothing of the artificial stuff I heard about in my youth. If you know how to use it according to the weather and you feel good, you’ve got it made. I love this perfume as a comfort scent in cold weather or for a special winter date. I love sweets, even though my nose is sensitive, but this one is a huge hit for me.
One of my favorites, it’s exquisite. It’s a fairly fruity vanilla that goes excellent with the Plum and Vanilla Flower body cream from Natura. THE BEST COMBO, girls.
The opening reminded me a lot of Coty Chanson d’eau Vanilla, but the dry down is much better. It’s a beautiful, feminine, and delicate fragrance.
So delicious, smells like ice cream from the very first second and stays that way until the end with a musky touch that makes it feel almost like marshmallow. The longevity is typical for Ariana (4/5 hours), the sillage is low, but with good layering it works well. One of the best from the brand 🍦🧁✨🫧
The perfume is good and sweet, but I had an issue: maybe because of the Bach or because the bottle was defective, the liquid was leaking out and evaporating, losing 50ml just for that. I’m not criticizing the fragrance, which is simple but delicious, but rather the bottle with that ‘unique’ silhouette that causes problems. If this happens to you, exchange the bottle immediately to avoid wasting money or making a mess.
