I never tried Molecule 01 until I snagged it for $12, and honestly, it’s worth more. It’s a molecule that changes with every skin and is totally worth the splurge; I wasn’t blown away at first, but it ended up winning me over. It’s perfect for layering, with woody notes and a citrus touch, and since it’s so soft, it works great under other perfumes. I use it a lot with Mont Blanc Starwalker because that one lasts 3-4 hours and has almost no projection, whereas this one lasts me about 6 hours and projects in bursts for the first two hours. It gives a huge boost to longevity, and if you wear it alone, it’s very rich. Try it on different people and you’ll see it smells different on each. It has almost no projection, but it shines more when layered or worn at night to relax.
I never tried Molecule 01 until I picked it up for $12, and I swear it deserves more. It smells different on every skin and is an experience worth it. At first, it didn’t impress me, but it won me over. It’s ideal for mixing, woody with a citrus hint, soft, and perfect for wearing under other perfumes. I use it often with Mont Blanc Starwalker because that one lasts 3-4 hours and projects little, while this lasts me about 6 hours and projects in bursts for the first two. It boosts longevity significantly, and if you wear it alone, it’s very rich. Try it on different people and you’ll see it smells different on each. It has almost no projection, but you get more out of it by layering or wearing it at night to relax.
This is inspired by Escentric 01. Not Molecule 01. Period.
I just got the full Monocline collection (01, 02, and 05), and here’s what you need to know about Monocline 01. I used to own the original Escentric Molecules 01 but sold it because it was way too pricey and hard to find; honestly, it felt like just alcohol and water. With this Maison Alhambra version, the scent hits immediately. It’s fleeting with little sillage—you have to press your nose against your skin to catch it. It smells clean and sterile, almost transparent, with a very light musk note and a woody vibe. The ‘chemical/synthetic’ aspect is obvious, but it’s not annoying or off-putting. Since it can remind you of other perfumes (many use ISO E SUPER), it might stop sounding as fresh after a few wears. I’m going to try layering it to see if it extends the longevity of the second perfume or changes the scent. P.S. I already wrote reviews for each one.
